http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SE5owAIPmk BY THE NINE! WANT. This is the first time I've seen the Gamejam! Oh my god! All that in a week?! All of it is amazing, but what really got me were the fat giant, hellhorse mount, Volkihar Lord vampire progression, and, best of all, the leviathan mudcrab! |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZqXKZOS2jQ DAWNGUARD! I pretty much just fell into a pile of Skyrim fangoo. So i'm just going to quote what I said on the Beth forums. I've noticed a couple more things from the Game Jam have made it into Dawnguard, in addition to the obvious like the Vampire Lord; I'm pretty sure the new water shaders are present, and the undead flaming horse, too -- though it's been colour-swapped to a deep violet colour rather than red. Taking a look at the dragon at 1:05, it appears to be a completely new variety; the head shape is different with a 'scoop' shape to the snout, what looks like a crest and long spines on the throat. Its fingers are different, as well. (I can't post links yet? I have a blown-up screencap of the dragon.) And please, please tell me I'm not the only one getting super-familiar (Cyrodiilic?) vibes from that castle at 0:43. Someone mentioned a new cape, but the character at the start has a new circlet as well, a woven one. It's kind of odd how the Elder Scroll is slung over her back, though. 0:27: That's a Falmer dungeon. Is it looking to anyone else that everything leaked from the game files (the DLC01/ stuff, including update 1.6) is present in this DLC? No surprise, really, but it looks like everything's more or less confirmed now. I'm actually really excited to see more Snow Elves come E3 time. That, and I just rolled a Dunmer vampire. I really, really hope this is coming out on a disk -- my PS3 doesn't have an internet connection, and I have no way of getting one for it. I'm still playing Skyrim version 1.0.50.00. |

Also, some Skyrim Shenanigans. I had just finished the Namira quest and was taking Eola to Boethiah's shrine for the sacrifice. I fast travelled to Hollyfrost Farm and walked from there, to the east. We headed sort of past Traitor's Post, but instead of following the road we went up the hill instead (shortcut!). Soon after, we were up on the winding road near Refugee's Rest, and found two trolls fighting a bandit chief. Somehow the Boethiah worshippers had gotten into it too, but from waaaaaaaaay up there on the mountaintop. Anyway, we ended up kiteing them back down towards Traitor's Outpost, and then the real fight began. We ended up fighting two frost trolls, two bandit chiefs (?!), three bandit marauders and four bandit highwaymen. All at the once! It was utter chaos, especially with both Eola and I summoning and resurrecting etc. One of my most enjoyed encounters in Skyrim so far. Also, we barely survived. xD Feldas, the Dunmer, is now at 93 hours. |

![]() This is much, much more exciting than Dawnguard. <3 To be fair, though, I spoiled most of Dawnguard for myself, because it's been three months of bug-fixing and the PS3 still hasn't got it. Lol. Here's UESP article, and the least of features as seen there (my emphasis added); -------------------------------- ■ Ability to build and customize your own house. ■ You must purchase the land and use raw materials at a drafting table and carpenter's workbench to create rooms and furniture for your house. ■ Three plots of land are available for purchase, in Hjaalmarch, Falkreath and The Pale. ■ Ability to adopt children, who will move into your house. ■ Ability to hire staff: ■ A carriage driver who can take you to small settlements as well as major cities. ■ A personal bard. ■ NPCs who will supply you with housebuilding materials. ■ New activities, such as farming, fishing, beekeeping, and baking. ■ Requirement to protect your house from invaders such as skeevers and giants. -------------------------------- These features are ONLY WHAT'S KNOWN SO FAR. The release date for 360, as per the 30-day exclusivity, is 4th of September, with everyone else getting it at least a month later. It will be, despite the huge amount of new features, just 400MP. $5.00. That's what surprises me the most, because this is a big, amazing new suite of features to add extra life and SOMETHING TO DO once the player has hit that point where they're practically a living god at the end of the game. Of course, this also caters to anyone who hasn't hit that point. I am actually really, really excited about this! None of Skyrim's houses really do it for me, and all I've wanted to do is have a great property out in the wilderness in a spot of my choosing. Three properties are up for grabs that we know of so far, so it's likely that there'll be more in other Holds. Personally, though, I'm extremely happy with the options so far listed: Hjaalmarch, Falkreath and The Pale are very different from each other. I'm going to go with Falkreath, as that's my favourite Hold in the whole game. Something about the lush green forest reminds me of I can just picture it now. A massive castle in the forest, with all I could ever dream off -- a huge library! places for all my things! Dedicated equipment, clothing, and unique item rooms! Farm animals! My own crops! Employees! Finally, somewhere to spend all that money! Edit: Another reason this is so exciting is that it's like the consoles finally getting a little piece of the Creation Kit -- something previously unprecedented. And while I'm here, I'm watching the trailer, so I'll quote what some of the stuff says. 0:31, book: Bedroom "The Bedroom addition is perfect if you have a family who needs more comfortable living quarters than the Main Hall affords. The Bedroom has space for a master bedroom plus two children's beds, as well as all the dressers, wardrobes, etc. that anyone could desire. This addition also includes a spacious exterior porch." Greenhouse "Perhaps you are a gardener at heart? If so, the Greenhouse provides room for planters where you can grow almost whatever you wish, sheltered from Skyrim's harsh climate. Tend and harvest your crops from the comfort of your own home! Enchanter's Tower "If your interests lie in the magical realm, this tower addition is for you. Conduct your research in privacy and comfort. Plenty of space for keeping your collections and artifacts organized. And the view from the tower is guaranteed to take your breath away." And at 1:33, with the kids: "Need something, Pa?" Dialogue options: "I've got something for you, Grelanch." "Let's play a game." "Go play outside, Grelanch." "Do your chores, Grelanch." Also, the kids' names show me they're new kids -- they've added to the existing ones. You also don't have to go to the Orphanage, as far as I can tell. It also looks like the houses may be designable wall-by-wall, like in Sims games. At the very beginning of the house time lapse sequence, you can see string lines showing where the house's footprint will be. If not that, it's modular, as I can see sections like 'west wing' 'east wing' etc. I'm also extremely excited by the prospect of different architectural styles! Refer to this. I can't believe this. Actually, you know what, I can. I knew this would happen. I just thought it wouldn't. I gave Bethesda the benefit of the doubt. A THIRD DLC? Are you bloody kidding me? One entire console worth of users still hasn't gotten the first one, and now a third is in the works?! I don't care about Dawnguard. It would sting like hell to miss Hearthfire. But this? Dragon riding is stupid, aside from needing to hitch a ride to get to the new locales. BUT. BUT. Solstheim. Morrowind. SERIOUSLY?! Just look at all that! Netches! A Telvanni Tower! This is pissing me off. Edited by Seffoo, 26 Oct 2012, 05:41 PM.
