QUORUM DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN PACIFIC PIRACY

Salt Lake City, Utah- The Quorum of Elders has vigourously denied allegations that it has been involved in sponsoring an increase in Piracy in the Pacific Ocean, as gangs of armed marauders, probably operating out of Lawless California, have taken to seizing large cargo vessels, and offloading their cargo into small fishing trawlers and lifeboats and smuggling it to be resold on the Black Market in Pasadena and San Fransisco.

"The Free Republic of Deseret has nothing to do with the increasing criminality on the High Seas. We have enough of our own problems, simply maintaining order in America and repelling yet more incursions by the ungodly Red Deists and their Jewish Masters in New York. We suggest those criticisng recent ship disappearances look to California, not us." stated a spokesperson for the Quorum to Official Deseret Press.

Canada has as yet neglected to comment on the situation, although the United States has sworn to stick by its long-standing rules that any Mormon located within US Sovereign Soil will be subject to questioning and imprisonment if they cannot provide adequate reasoning for their presence. The US considers its Ships, Merchant or otherwise, to be included in this dictum, which has severely hampered efforts to transport Mormon Missionaries abroad, thus hindering the effort to spread the Word of God, adding to their catalog of crimes.

In other news, new stocks of ammunition are expected to be disseminated as promised to the Eastern Front as soon as possible, and Northern Raids into Montana and Seqouya have been increased out of necessity.

"Our supply situation is always grim. God provides, and those who do not swear to God's Cause have forfeited their right to necessary property which would better serve the Good Lord's cause." commented Prophet-President Abnaxas Whitman.

NATIONAL BROADCASTING RADIO

"This is National Broadcast Radio, an affiliate of the United States Federal Communications Commission and the Radio Corporation of America, broadcasting out of the flagship station WETA in Arlington, Virginia to across the Nation. This is National Broadcast News for the date June 4th, 1941.

"With the recent completion of the U.S.S. Iowa, the mass-scale arms industry revitalization program of Works Progress and the National Recovery Administration has a new monument to the triumph of the economic stewardship of the United States government and President Roosevelt's National Progressivism as guiding beacons for the Nation. The U.S.S. Iowa has arrived in Jacksonville, Florida today at the newly-completed Naval Station Mayport, another shining symbol of Works Progress uniting the fruits of labor, military and science to bolster and support our national defense, the preservation of America's rightful sphere of influence and the men and women of our armed services. Its stated mission, as was soon revealed by our President, is to exhibit to the world what our united America can do once casting off both the chains of greed and exploitation by the monied interests and the corruption of misguided Socialist demagoguery, a mission of power projection when the Iowa is combined in a task force of America's other fast battleships to circumnavigate the globe, beginning in Florida.

"The fleet is expected to carry the Stars and Stripes first to the Caribbean, followed by Halifax in Canada and St. John's in Caledonian Newfoundland. Stops at all major European ports are expected after the completion of the trans-Atlantic leg of the battle group's global voyage. With the christening ceremony of the Iowa by the President, and the gargantuan ship becoming abuzz with activity, the extraordinary temporary Battle Group 1 of the United States Atlantic Fleet, comprised of examples of all our finest battleship classes, set sail away to a last check-up at Miami before venturing to their first stop in Havana, Cuba where President Fulgencio Batista is expected to be on hand. Remarkably, the event is enough of a priority to the Cuban General-turned-President to take a brief respite from his program of social and labor reforms and revitalization of his country along the lines of Roosevelt's New Deal for America while also tackling the growing threat of Marxist criminality."

Two New Ships Join Caribbean Contingent

San Juan, Puerto Rico - Two new armoured ships have joined the naval element sailing the seas of Aragonese Caribbean. These two ships are heavily armed small ships that have just been added to the ranks of the Aragonese navy as purchases from Crichton-Vulcan shipyards. As such both vessels have been built in the remote northern country of Finland and officially classed as coastal defence ships. Their large weapons, but at the same time compact size and shallow draft allow the ships to enter coves and rivers that normally well armed ships would be unable to traverse. According to naval officials stationed on Hispaniola, the ships will remain moored off Fort San Felipe del Morro for now and be included in naval manoeuvres conducted by the Caribbean Squadron and the High Seas Fleet currently in the area at a later date.

Völkischer Beobachter

It is a Glorious and Proud day for all the sons and daughters of the Great Fatherland. Großadmiral Erich Raeder was today appointed as Oberkommando der Marine of the Stramacht. He succeeded Oberkommando der Marine Hans Krebs, who is scheduled to retire later this week. For his great service to the whole of the Reich, Hans Krebs has received a beautiful estate to retire in. Hans Krebs served his Reich and Führer with distinction for the past 43 years of his great and noble life. He began his illustrious career as a Leutnant zur See, and second in command of a destroyer escort. From his humble beginnings in the Kriegsmarine to Oberkommando der Marine, Hans Krebs served his boat, his crew, his Reich, and his Führer with the honour and distinction becoming of an officer of the Kriegsmarine. It is with a tear that the whole of the Great Reich watch him leave his dutiful post, but it is with a jolly heart and a loud "Hurray!" that we welcome Erich Raeder as the new Oberkommando der Marine.

Erich Raeder is to be sworn in by the Führer himself later this day aboard the Tirpitz while underway. There are sure to be cheers this evening when the Führer and Raeder step off the Tirpitz at her harbour in Lubeck. All those who love the Great Reich should show their support of Raeder by joining the crowds around the streets of Lubeck.
