'The Children of the Sphinx'

The Mehet'khem come from the ancient land known as 'Khempet', and have weathered strife, turmoil and slavery long before the pointed eared ones came. The Mehet'khem culture, preserved for millennia, continues to be practiced by their modern Chichaga progeny. Like the other Chichaga societies, women are held in equal regard as men in social matters, and particularly in Mehet'khem culture do many hold high positions. Most striking about the Mehet'khem culture is it's art, which stands out quite as quite unique. Making use of obelisks and colorful depictions, Mehet'khem villages will often display their history and significant stories for all to see.

The principal belief of the Mehet'khem is gratitude. People are encouraged to find joy in their everyday lives, and count their blessing daily. This practice has always served to build a rather content, and cohesive work force, particularly in their pre-enslavement. One of the chief causes for this focus lies in their belief of the afterlife. The Mehet'khem see the afterlife as an immortal extension of the current physical world. The belief is that when a Chichaga dies, their soul joins the immortal plane (-----) which overlaps and often interacts with ours. It is in a sense, a level above the current world in terms of sensory information. Because of this, they feel their ancestors, and them too in time, remain living on their land, assisting and watching over the people. The ancestors are able to share in the many wonders of their descendants, their love, celebrations, struggles and victories. With the prospect of an eternity in one's locale, focusing on joyful feelings towards it seems natural.

Like the other Chichaga tribes, sport is an important aspect of Mehet'khem culture. One of the most popular sports, Sma'mew, involves a type of jousting from small boats out on the ocean. Spectators line the beaches and cheer on their favourites as tournaments are often held in Mehet'khem communities.

The Kosmosopos are a people of philosophy and education. It's actually much in part thanks to the Kosmosopos that modern Chichaga have a common script and sophisticated written language.

Fathaidh Daoine

The Fathaidh Daoine are a very proud people, with a penchant for drinking and dancing. While the Fathaidh Daoine generally appear less 'civilized' when compared to their counterparts, it's merely an aesthetic choice of the people. While the women do engage in many of the common Chichaga cosmetic activities for their appearances, men typically grow out their hair and beards.
