Hi guys this is probably the dumbest question but ichaleynbin said we can ask any thing so here goes. If some one have the time can you please explain toe me how to attack, I know how to send a fleet and so on but some times you guys talk about stuff I have no clue. Like how do you fleet save? And any strategy of attacking would be very helpful. I know this will take time or a long message but then I can soon join you in taking taxes from others! Brandseun |

Alright. We finally have someone using the forum to share information. Thanks for the quesion Brandseun. So the basics of attacking, or raiding as some people call it: 1) spy on you opponent, you can use that little "eye" thingy on the right of their planet to send a spy probe. You can also customize the number of probes you send in the "options" menu. The default is 1 probe. Personally I send 4, but you choose how many ever you want. The lower the number the less you will see, the higher the number, the more you see but the more likely it is that you will have your probes intercepted. 2) analyze the spy report. Think of what resources it is you want, note how many of each the target has. Very important: you can only take HALF of the total resources of each material from the target. So no need to send 20 large cargoes to a planet that has 500k total resources because they will come back half empty. 2.5) after the amount of resources the next most important categories are "fleet" and "defense." DON'T send your fleet until you know this information. That may require sending more probes or upgrading your spying technology. 3) if the opponent has defense then you run a sim (simulation of the combat) to determine how many ships you need to overcome the defense and make a maximum profit with minimal losses. I use http://drago-sim.com/index.php?lang=english as my sim. It's pretty straightforward just note that to see the actual combat report, you need to click on "show" located on the right of the screen. 4) after you run the sim, you can check the spy report of the planet you want to attack. There is an "attack" link at the bottom of the report which leads you to the fleet selection screen where you enter the ships necessary that you found using the sim. A couple more self-explanatory screens lead you to selecting the target, speed, and mission (all of these should be already filled out). You get to the end of the fleet menu and hit "send fleet" Then you sit back and wait for the fleets to get back with the booty. Hope that helps, Gin |

also, for the topic of fleetsaving when you're away from the computer, people can attack your planet and destroy your fleet, so that they can recycle it. if you send your fleet on a transport mission over a very long time, or deploy as i usually do, you can send your fleet away for up to ~12 hours at a time. if you time it out well, you can get back a few minutes before/after your fleet shows up, and spend very little time in "danger." |

well, you can ACS attack to a random inactive if you like. inactives can be hit before you hit them, so you dont get as much res as you wanted, but you wont ever lose ships you didnt think you would lose. most of my fleetsaves are deployments to my own planets. i dont find transport as useful for fleetsaving, because the resources get put down halfway through the flight, and they're either sitting there waiting to be taken, or the ships are still in flight long after i'm back. there are a number of flight types which cannot be tracked by phalanx, including (i think) anything to or from a moon, recycle missions, and recalled deploy missions, as well as others. the rest of missions can be phalanxed, and then ninjad. sorry my response took so long, i havent been checking the forums regularly XD |
