Behind the Role Player
Name/Nick Name: Xantospoc Age: 18 How you found us: I am Rave's friend ^^
Basic Data
Name: Ankoku Yami Nickname: 'Foolish, clumsy, unworthy simpleton' (by himself) Age: 17 Sex: Male
Race: Human Job/Class: ?????
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Relationship Status: Single, an hero has no time to deal with love, he has to sacrifice himself for others
Physical Description

Appearance: Ankoku has soft facial features, not very marked, thin lips, big hazel-colored eyes with hair covering just a part of them. His black colored hair is indeed rather long, shoulder length, and a bit unkempt, though straight. He is not very tall, around 5'3'', and weights about 120 lbs. His body is actually very thin, implying he might be suffering of some alimentary disorder (anorexia). His skin is also a bit pale due to malnutrition. He still seems to always walk upright, only to politely bow when in his opinion is needed (almost always). He tries to be as silent as possible when he moves or walk to avoid drawing attention upon himself and bothering others. Due to the harsh training provided him by his mother, Ankoku possesses an high tolerance of pain, being able to stab his own hand and not to feel anything. This can also be a great weakness, as he rarely knows at which extent he is wounded, as most of the time, his parents immediately rush to deal with his injuries.
Distinguishing Features: Under his eyes he has also large eye bags due to the fact he rarely sleeps (6 hours per week at best).
Clothing & Equipment
Weapon: A spiked staff which can turn, mixed with Ankoku's clothes, into an umbrella Clothing: He dresses up with a black jumpsuit which seems to be of a size bigger than him (due to anorexia), and a blue-white colored hat, jacket and detachable sleeves (which he made so that he could use them together to make a makeshift blanket or, along with his staff (see below) an umbrella). He also wears black shoes and a red scarf around his neck. , he has google and an helmet
Sentimental Item: The Staff and the red scarfs. His greatest treasures
Combat Talents
Attacks: Well, bashing you with a staff is pretty much his only attack Abilities: He practiced for a long time healing magic, although for some reason it works better on others than on him.
Strengths:His skills lie in his lack of sensing pain (he could take the strongest attack and not flinching even despite the damages) and his defensive skills Weakness: He is unable not to hold back due to his number of complexes, his lack of pain does not make him understand how much he is wounded
Personal Data
Personality: Ankoku strives to become someone completely pure of heart. He is very often cheerful and tries to be as helpful and heroic as he can, sacrificing himself as much as possible, and he is very upset when he does not succeed. Despite this and being against violence, Ankoku has been taught not to worry to get his hand dirty if he's forced to, and he's not a coward. Ankoku also usually speaks very politely and acts with great chivalry, to the point of sounding artificial at times. Indeed, Ankoku does his best to serve others, to the point of getting puzzled when asked him 'to do what he wants to do'. As shy as he is, his ideal of party is to sit in a dark corner looking at others, wondering if he is gonna be noticed.
If he does something which bugs you, he will apologize.... even if he apologize too much. He has a very strong morale, one might also say he's very stubborn, but, while he's very determined to do something, he's always unsure about his success. This, added with his wishes not to bother them, makes him highly self-sacrificing, even to the point of sleeping and eating very little, only enough to sustain himself, never speaking aloud and imposing himself to never cry. Still, due to all the pressures he applies to himself, when sleeping he always busts into tears and sobs until he wakes up. He is not aware of his quirk.
Another quirk is his relationship with his parents, especially his mother. At first sight their relationship might look like to be abusive, with his mother putting him down at every chance and usually not holding back when training, going so far to stab him, shatter his bones and overall acting codly and distant. But there is much more than it meets the eye. Indeed, actually, Ankoku is not bothered at all by her way of acting, actually thinking it is her way of loving him (and he's right, as she is actually trying to turn him into a warrior), she always tends to his injuries and does her best to explain her techniques. In exchange, he tries also to clear up her name (see History). He is also convinced that actually most mothers act like this towards their offspring and would get upset if his mom was to hold back during a training session. He seems unable to call his relatives by his names, actually referring to them with their relationship (eg. 'cousin', 'mother', 'uncle-in-law'....).
He is cunning, curios and smart and he has a photographic memory (he can remember any book he reads word by word), but a bit naive. He loves having long walks and looking at the sky. A trait inherited by his father, Ankoku is a great believer in freedom of spirit, that you have to earn and deserve everything you get (no matter how much sweats, tears, and blood) and that a true hero has to serve people.
He is prone to mood swing if he fails at something, dislikes places either too hot or too cold. He is also easily distracted (trees are his worst enemies, as he often ends up slamming into them). Another weak point of his are women, as he acts somewhat uneasy around them, fearing to sound sexist/impolite to them. This said, Ankoku occasionally shows hint of a dirty mind, being a teenager. He used to have a long-term crush on Yuna, but she never requited his feelings (actually actively ignoring them). He grew out of it after 7 months of intense therapy, but he still shows some hints of his former crush
A last thing to know, he has a very well hidden disliking: he hates when people try to read him to deconstruct his logic, thinking it a lack of respect towards his persona, but rarely lets the anger get an hold of himself, preferring to pretend to give up rather than worsening the situation.
Greatest Fear: to die without being remembered. Special Talents: Incredibly enough, cooking. He is a child prodigy at this and he has no idea how Hobbies: reading books in a coner inside his home
History: There are people chosed by Destiny, God, or whater higher powers beyond understanding which rules the univere, who take up the wings of their destiny to fight against the great power of the eldritch forces of evil. They are signed usually by their great talents, incredible skills, an attitude worringly carrening on the dark side and overall, being unstoppable. We call those people heroes. Ankoku.... never was one, but has dreamed to become one since he was small and kept reading and/or hearing about myths and legends about them.
During his first five years, he traveled a lot with my family. His father's job was to… well… bring happiness to the ones who were plagued by sufference. A clown, in other world… To avoid letting his seeing the atrocities happening, both he and his mother made Ankoku read books. Lots. he can boast to have read over one thousand of books of various genres and to remember the latest hundred word by word.
One day, though, during a travel on a ship when he was 4, Ankoku fell from the ship railing he had been leaning over. This left him with a bit of hydrophobia, but as long as he didn't have to touch water of considerable depths, it was fine, otherwise…
The book he was reading though were always about one thing, heroes. He fell in an obsessive love with the figure of the hero. Oh yes, how couldn't he. He wanted to be like a hero, his desire grew day by day.
But nothing happened. He was good, nice, kind and worked a lot on his skills... why nothing had happened? Why couldn't he have become a badass worth fame and that girl's heart? Why nothing had happened to make him become an hero? He started growing anxious of this: what if he was slated to become evil, to crack under pressure the moment he was to falter for a second... what if, even worse, he was to become a casuality for the rising of a new hero, and his name would have faded into nothing. Because of this, he started becoming increasingly depressed, and his parents started worrying, especially because, insteady of unleashing such feelings of frustration, he kept bottling up such negative emotions, becoming more of a doormat as time passed. So, they decided to act: after long talks and months of therapy, Ankoku was convinced to broaden his horizon. And so Ankoku now keeps wondering.... what does it take to be a hero? WIll he succed? He had to build his own fate
