They say that when you sleep your mind lowers to its subconscious and dreams. Given Athena's recent lack of physical memories, she'd chosen to sleep more and more in an attempt to unlock what she'd forgotten. The darkness of space was a bleak and endless existence. Several days in it alone was often enough to send even the sanest into insanity. For Athena, the utter aloneness was a welcomed gift. No emotions or thoughts other than her own, which made the constant white noise that was always going off in the back of her mind a wonderful silence. Until she closed her eyes... "You'll remember in time..." It was that same voice. Whenever she came to doubt herself he was there. She wasn't sure what was worse, the fact there was some man's voice even when she was alone, or the fact that she had no idea who the hell he was. It was an instant where she knew she should have known, but didn't. "You always say that. Why can't I see you if you're here in my head." Sure she was dreaming, but lately her dreams had been nothing but an empty room with a bright shiny silver table with two chairs on either side, bolted to the floor. She would always turn to the large mirror on the wall behind her and know that someone was watching her, but who? It was hard to tell. And she was always locked in. It was a place she'd become familiar with but now it was hard to tell if it was because her dreams had fabricated it or if she had at one point actually been there. "Because you're not ready to see me yet." She knew that was going to be his answer. Athena turned and approached the mirror, pressing her face against the glass and cupping her hands around her eyes to try and see through it. For whatever reason, she just couldn't get past it, but she knew there was someone in there. The significance of them being there in her dream though? She couldn't be sure. "Since when do you know what I'm ready for and what I'm not?" she said a little more annoyed than she meant. When she lowered her hands to her sides she was left to look at her own reflection. The bruises on her face had gone down considerably and her hair was tied back as she'd done before going to bed, but instead of her night clothes she was wearing the same outfit she'd woke up in, her jacket draped over one of the chairs behind her. And then there was another figure in the mirror behind her. He was seated in one of the chairs on the other end of the table opposite of where she was standing. Namekian...old from what she could tell because of the antennae that sprouted up on his forehead. But oddly, she expected them when she saw his face, because she knew him. "Del..." "Yes. I knew when you saw me you would remember at least that," he said with a little pride in his voice. "How would you know that?" "Because I'm still a piece of your soul. Although you don't recall, you helped my brother, Dax, considerably. And then you were betrayed, and the memory of ever committing the act was stripped from you. I stayed behind because I owe you." When Athena turned around to look back at the table, Del wasn't seated there at all. Confused she looked back to the mirror and he was now standing behind her, his arm around her shoulder. She could see it there, resting on the bareness of her skin, but she didn't feel him. "Don't fret. I'm here, you're just not strong enough yet. You will be. I'll help you. Especially since we're going back to my home planet. I'm interested to see how it's changed. Dax avoided it while we were together." "Why?" He smiled at her, a pleasant and gentle sort of chastising smile as he rested his face against her's, again something she saw instead of felt. "You'll remember soon enough." --------- Athena was alone in her room on the Pantera as she opened her eyes and stared into the darkness of her ceiling. The dreams were growing more and more vivid but more and more cryptic in nature. Regardless of the peace being alone brought, knowing she wasn't was comforting in its own right. One thing was for sure though. Her mind's was repairing itself. Hopefully soon she'd remember everything. Edited by Athena, May 29 2011, 07:21 AM.
