(Day 1) Its an odd feeling. Dying that is. One minute you are breathing and then somehow, you just stop, and the world turns black, everything that you loved, and cared for passes before your eyes, and then...you're there. You stand in a line for a while, waiting your turn to be judged by a giant ogre by the name of Yemma. Yemma, of course, puts you on the path that you have earned, and then sends you on your way. That's what Alister had been through so far. He had died, been judged, and had finished his walk along the way, walking because he wanted to collect his thoughts of what was going on, and then he was there. 'There' being heaven. Heaven was an interesting place, filled with weird creatures from other galaxies that he had never seen before, and other men and women that he had only heard tales of when he had been growing up. Like Goku, mind you he had only seen him for a brief second, but he knew that it was him, he could just feel it in his bones...well his soul. There were fields in heaven, loads of them, and in these fields were beautiful flowers, exotic, and varying in shades of color. Alister had taken a moment to 'smell the roses' and then he had walked some more. Alister had walked for nearly three hours before he finally decided to take a break and just sit down. He had no where to go and he doubted that he would be going anywhere at all for the foreseeable future. It pained him to hear other heavenly occupants talking about the war and how it was getting worse with every passing day, not only on Vegeta, but on Earth as well. It pained him due to his inability to actually be of any use. He had tried to be useful, honest, but all that had happened was a defeat, a bone crushing defeat at the hands of a blue fairy. He lay back, admiring the ever glowing sun that Heaven had, and then closed his eyes, trying his best to rest. "My, my...don't we look comfortable?" Alister's eyes fluttered open as he heard a voice a few feet off from him, he turned to look at an old man carrying a turtle shell on his back, and looking rather jovial. The old man grew closer as Alister sat up and watched as the man drew near until finally he was only within a few inches of him. the man would stop there and look at Alister for a few seconds before continuing to speak. "I'm sorry to have disturbed you, but have you seen some of my magazines by chance?" "Magazines?" Alister racked his memory and then shook his head, knowing all too well that he had seen no magazines during his walking. "Can't say that I have." "Darn me and my old age! I can't seem to remember where I placed my stash of magazines...would you mind helping me out young one? I'm sure I can reward you in some way shape or form to compensate for the time spent on this task." "No, thanks...I would rather just lay here and rest for a while if you don't mind." The old man grinned and then cupped his hands behind him. For a second, Alister didn't know what was going on, but quickly sensed the flaring of the man's energy. He jumped to his feet and watched the man aim himself just west of their location. "Ka....me....ha....me....ha!" In one brilliant blue flash, a tree that was not too far away from them exploded into bits, and in a brilliant explosion at that. Alister looked at the old man, who was still grinning, and looking at him as if to say 'are you sure?' Alister took a big gulp and nodded his head. "I'm sure I could help you. After all, what am I gonna do, but just lay around and pity myself?" "Aye, good lad...now go find my magazines. I'm going to check the refrigerator." For a second, Alister turned his head to the side for a bit, confused by the last statement, but then shook his head, and went off on his own to find the magazines. He didn't know where the old man could possibly hide a stack of magazines or even what the magazines were about, but something told him that they were important. "Maybe they are training manuals.... someone with an attack like that must be a martial arts master." Alister said to himself as he checked a small shrubbery beside one of the few roads in heaven. He would find nothing in this bush, but would keep searching the shrubberies. For about a few hours he did nothing, but check random locations, knowing all too well that senile old people hid things in absurd places, and rationalizing searching in such locations would only cause his brain to hurt. Alister, after searching every shrubbery and tree he could find, quickly began to back track, heading toward the only housing district in heaven. Thinking that the old man could have simply misplaced his magazine collection somewhere within the confines of the city. It took him a few hours to reach the city, but upon reaching it, he remembered all too well why he had avoided this place. It was crowded and the houses were dull and color-less. Alister assumed that in Heaven there was good houses, but upon arrival he had learned that there was no good houses in heaven, only plain houses with few luxuries. After all, no one was better than the other in heaven, at least that was what he had read on the sign right before Snakeway had tapered off into Heaven. Alister let out a sigh, knowing all too well that he was not going to enjoy searching the city, but also knowing that a technique like the one he had saw would do him a lot of good in his future battles that he would most likely be undergoing. "Alright...here goes nothing." [Day 1 Complete] (1,029 Words) |

(Day 2) "Would you like some sfle berry? It comes from a planet on the fringe of the Southern Galaxy?" "No, I'm looking for some magazines that belong to an old man, have you seen any magazines?" "No, sorry can't help ya." Alister had spent two hours searching, two long, and ardious hours looking for the magazines that the old man had been seeking, but so far he had gotten absolutely no where. The fact was, everyone in town was too busy doing their own thing to even remember simple facts such as seeing a magazine, and that was slowing the process of asking around greatly. He had explored the town to its' fullest. Checking every alley, every trash can, and every house, while expending all of his resources at the same time. It was harsh and Alister was beginning to doubt that he would ever find the magazines. He sat down on the steps of the library, the location of his most recent search, and put his head in his hands. He was tired and above all else he was quite a bit concerned that he would never find the magazines. "Hey, whats up?" Alister looked up to see a man wearing glasses, a white dress shirt, and a pair of brown dress pants sitting next to him. The man looked like he could be no older than him and also seemed to be a bit concerned for his well being. "Nothing really...I was just looking for some magazines for this old man on the outskirts of town." "Oh! You mean Master Roshi? Yeah...he does lose things often. Also, you do realize that you are looking for...well...pornographic magazines right?" "I'm looking for what!?" "Yeah, I thought as much. He didn't tell you about the contents of the magazines?" "If I had known it was porn I would have told the old guy to leave me alone." "Hey, you were just trying to help right?" Alister nodded his head, clearly not too happy to have been helping an old man look for his porn stash. The mere thought of that made him cringe and even sent a shiver up his spine. He didn't like the fact that he had decided to help the old man, but that didn't mean he could just shrug off his obligations to help Roshi find his magazines. Standing up and walking off he would find himself being tailed by the man with glasses. "Hey! Wait up!" Alister turned around about two blocks away from the library to see the man standing behind him with a grin. "Let me help you look for the magazines. After all, two heads are better than one." "Yeah...I guess so, but I've pretty much searched all of the city. I doubt it is here." "Don't worry, I'm sure we will find them, and then afterward we will go pay Roshi a visit, alright?" Alister nodded his head as they both decided on which directions they both were going to go. Alister decided to cover the north and the man decided to cover the south. After picking their directions, both men fanned out, and began the search, renewed. It was quite a while later that the two men met up again in the town square, both looking rather exhausted, and both having found nothing. Alister sat down on a bench, clearly defeated, and not feeling too well as he rubbed his temples. "Where in the world could they be?" The man sat down next to him and let out a yawn before replying. "I don't know, but I will tell you this...next time Master Roshi loses something, I think it would be for the best if you didn't accept his invitation to help him." "No, doubt. This guy has lost stuff in the past?" "Oh yeah, he loses everything. I swear he would lose his head if it wasn't attached. The guy is just a magnet for such things and there is not much you can do about that, I suppose. He is a good guy at heart and a great master, he taught my dad how to fight, and taught him the kamehameha wave, which he passed on to me, and my brother." "Yeah, he showed me the technique...it would be awesome to have the opportunity to learn it." "Well...maybe if we go back to Roshi's and ask him politely he may teach you...who knows?" "At this point...I will try anything to learn that technique." "Alright, then lets go." Launching off from the floor, the man hovered for a few seconds, and Alister, hesitating at first with surprise, quickly joined him in the air as both men flew toward where Alister had met the old man. Flying a little bit father than that brought them to a weird little house on the outskirts of the fields. A turtle was in the front yard and several palm trees stood around in various locations. For a minute, both men hovered there until the man nodded his head in his direction, and landed. Looking around for a short period of time, Alister joined him, and then walked toward the front door. As they neared the door, it opened from within, revealing an old man holding a pornographic magazine. For a second, Alister was surprised, but then quickly got angry, but stopped himself from engaging his foe. "Oh, Gohan...you brought a visitor?" "Yeah, he was the one you told me to go find, am I right?" "Yes...he seems rather angry, but also he shows a sign of determination to learn and prosper. Come here young man, let me introduce myself...I am Master Roshi. A practioner of the turtle style and master of the kamehameha wave technique. A technique that you will soon learn. This man, that assisted you no doubt, is Gohan...son of Goku, and a Half-Saiyan." "Just like me..." "Yeah, but a bit different." "You really are the son of Goku?" "Yeah! Sometimes I feel so blessed to have a hero for a father." "Gohan will be training you after I teach you the Kamehameha.... you see, I have had my eye on you for a while...you have potential and a great gift, but you don't know how to harnass that power. Gohan can teach you how to, since he too had your potential and power...he can teach you how to unlock the flood gates and let your power run rampant. So...do you want this training? Because it will be difficult. Gohan is no easy mentor and may very well break a few of your bones before he is done with your training." Alister looked at both men for a second, the original anger he had felt was replaced by curiosity, and the need to increase his battle power. He needed to get stronger and quickly, otherwise his friends would be let down, and they would die. Finally, Alister nodded his head, and spoke up. "When do we start?" Gohan grinned at Alister and then uttered the words. "Right, now." [Day 2 Complete] (1,183 Words) |
