The opportunistic Changeling was beginning to expand his operations for more lucrative endeavors. The fact that those endeavors were almost always illegal in nature didn’t bother him, and actually made the crew feel more comfortable: their only legitimate transportation mission thus far had been transporting organs for an interplanetary NGO to a hospital on the dinky little planet of Zergon VI. Glacier had persuaded the NGO to give them the job instead of their usual courier because The Treasurer was a faster ship, and could hold significantly more cargo once certain sacrifices were made. Apparently, Hex and co. hadn’t been keen on donating their living quarters to iced over (and melting) lungs, hearts and colons.

Their current mission involved more risk, but fortunately involved less cargo to transport. Pirated holograms of popular movies were, admittedly, not the ‘coolest’ of stolen goods to smuggle – but they fetched a decent fee for the people transporting them. Compact discs, the holograms themselves actually came imprinted with an ID number that could be scanned upon the ship’s arrival. If the security forces at Yardrat matched IDs, they’d find the stolen videos, and Glacier’s grand schemes would come to an end over petty crimes. Fortunately, Marce had used The Treasurer’s left over memory – originally intended for the ship’s still lacking weapons systems – to download all of the videos onto the ship’s mainframe. Upon arrival, they’d simply re-download them into disks. Plus, it gave the entire crew plenty to watch on the journey.

Security was still overzealous, particularly when traveling between galaxies. The South, West and East were intent on making sure that the Northern Galaxy’s war didn’t spill over into their neck of the woods. Glacier understood, but the myriad of checkpoints that his crew had to endure in order to get from A to B slowed the journey considerably; the fact Rettbu had forgotten to mute one of the scenes in a film he was viewing (a film of less-than-reputable nature, starring people wearing less-than-appropriate clothing) almost got them caught. Twice. Needless to say, the frisky Taifuu-jin had been locked inside the cargo hold since the second checkpoint.
