Quest Reward: 300 Zenni

[200+/200 Words]

[160 Exp, 100 (400 Total) Zenni]

Sitting in the cockpit of “The Mercury”, as he learned it was called, Keroth stared off into the deep expanses of space. This was the first time he had piloted a ship in his life, and he was praying to any Gods that the ship’s mapping system was accurate.

“Hey, my children are hungry! Where’s our meal?” A nagging, large brutii mother of three asked. Keroth sighed. Why did he agree to ferry these people through space in the first place?

At least they’re paying. He began to tour around the ship, pretending he knew where he was going. “The food is uh…Around…here?” He opened the door to a storage room, revealing a large amount of scientific equipment. “Er…right, next storage room.”

Traveling down the hall, everyone was relieved to find the kitchen of the ship. “Cool, help yourselves guys, I’m heading back to the cockpit.”

“Well?” the brutii said, as if expecting something more from him, “Aren’t you going to cook for us?” Keroth stared at her with a cocked eyebrow before laughing and turning around, walking down the hall. “Oh man, that’s rich: me, cooking! I didn’t know I was carrying a comedian on board.” He wiped a tear of laughter from his eye. The sarcasm worked well to hide the fact that Keroth didn’t know how to cook.

As he neared the cockpit, Keroth saw Fred the Saibaman standing in the ship's hallway. "Hey Fred, what's up? Sorry about earlier, but thanks for being a good wing-man at the bar. By the way, you were right. Turns out she was a spy or something. But hey! At least we got this ship out of it." Fred sighed, shaking his head. He handed Keroth 50 zenni, the standard toll for a taxi service in space. Keroth stared down at the zenni in his hand as Fred walked past him and into the kitchen.

...Where the hell did Fred get money?
