The last great hope.

They thanked me, they actually thanked me for killing that man, the one who tried to kill me and probably killed those escorts. I know its war; it’s supposed to have casualties, but to think they actually thanked me for killing somebody. The thought just wouldn’t leave my mind. I mean I can understand the relief at knowing an enemy is out of commission, but it just doesn’t sit right with me at all. Truthfully I don’t even really know what happened before I got there, or why a saiyan would fight against his races’ allies, but this probably wouldn’t be the last person I stared at past the end of my guns. Heading towards another battlefield now, this one should be even worse than earth. I hear the main forces of both armies are present and taking no prisoners anymore. Something must have happened to make things escalate so quickly. More weapons in the cargo bay, more soldiers in the bunks, more war just waiting to happen. Maybe it’s time for me to start looking into that whole settling down idea I had. I think mom and dad would like that, I can’t imagine they’re very proud of me right now. I was snapped out of my rather negative train of thoughts by a distress signal. A beacon had been broadcasting this signal for almost two days now, repeating message of dire need and set of co-ordinates. According to the message, a ship carrying civilians attempting to escape the warzones was heading for Kanassa when they were caught up in a battle between a Namekian ship and some unknown combatant. They sustained crippling injuries in the crossfire and were left adrift almost 30 hours ago. I made an official announcement to all patrons on board that we would be making an emergency course change to pick up survivors (or so I hoped) from a damaged craft nearby. We arrived a few hours later, I wasn’t sure if we would even get here in time. I don’t know what model ship they’re flying, but if their damage was as bad as the recording indicated, they probably wouldn’t be able to maintain life support for very long. The last thing I wanted right now was to find a ship full of corpses; I just don’t think I could handle something like that right now. When we arrived at the designated area there was nothing to be found. Sensors indicated a heat trail leading off a ways and so we followed, praying they somehow managed to get their thrusters working. Finally we caught up to it; it looked like floating scrap metal at this point. No wonder it had been left adrift after the battle. No response to our hails, but we were able to match its speed and dock with it. Having been damaged by something, we were forced to pry the doors open only to find the ship had no power. No lights, heat, nothing. Even our attempts to turn everything on were thwarted; something had locked out control to all the panels. We detected only a single section of the ship had any power flowing to it and so that’s where we made our way towards. It was in the mess hall that we found it, a massive refrigeration unit that still had power. We were able to seal off that particular section of the ship and restore power, though not without bring in some small generators to do it. It took some doing to open the heavy door, but my heart breathed easy seeing all those people still alive. Huddled together for warmth, they cringed at the sign of intruders, but I think seeing the tools and the generators got them thinking rescue rather than ruin. They weren’t thrilled with where we were heading, but considering the alternative, they gladly accepted. Notes: Using magic crystal ball Edited by Emperor Enoch, Jun 19 2011, 08:39 PM.

[i did, but i checked with alex, the quest is repeatable once per week, meaning you can take it once and then repeat it once both in the same week] |

((Uhm... that makes no sense. "You may retake Carrier once per week." It doesn't say anything that you can take it twice a week. )) |

[ Repeatable once per week means you can repeat it once per week. Not sure why there's any confusion about this. I dunno where A gets this ruling from but he's incorrect. As the designer of this quest (and most all the space quests) I'm going to have to disagree with his ruling and side with Keroth on this one. Whether or not the correct ruling is in fact the one that's going to be enforced is another story. ] |

((Although the wording is bad - This quest can only be taken once a week. Until Alex comes in and tells us otherwise, we feel that's how it should stay.))

i thought the wording was odd too, which is what made me bring it up to him in the first place. so you're all telling me that i'm screwed and have to redo these two days now right? |
