”That was a complete and utter disaster.” A sigh escaped the lips of the doctor who sat in the cockpit seat, still trying to wrap her head around the events that happened previously. We had him... We were so close... She has happier at the fact that she was hiding away in her cockpit from the people she was shuttling around this time around. She was the one that put herself open for business to be a carrier for people from Earth to Plant, because she needed the disguise of being an actual carrier to get back to the planet. The sargent is going to have a billion questions for her, her crew is going to be six shades of confused, and their work is probably going to be set behind greatly. Using only a hand to steer the massive ship through space, she used the other to rub her temple, inhaling slowly and exhaling with a heavy sigh. I have failed... I couldn't keep my creation alive. I knew we should have had more training, more understanding of our enemy... if only I actually made those replacements.... The guilty look was on the female's face as she looked to the planet they were approaching. She felt hesitant to going back, but knew she had to continue her work, and not carry the burden as heavily as she has. I guess that is what comes with a war... The Phoenix of Earth
|
((No Exp for any post in this thread.)) [Ship Communicator: Open Line] An image of Keroth appears on the screen. The dark haired man was best characterized by his short beard and monkey's tail, swishing behind him as he spoke. "Hello again, 'Serena'. If you're getting this then it means that my locators are working properly. I know we got off on the wrong foot, so I'd like to come clean. My name is Keroth, and I am a Half-Human, Half-Saiyan working for the Tuffle Legion against the Capsule Corps monarchy/monopoly, as well as against the militant Saiyan government." He paused to stress a point, "Not the Saiyan race. Heritage does not decide our mindsets, but our mindsets do decide our loyalties. The crown of Vegeta is my enemy, not the people." The Half-Saiyan stared off for a second, contemplating how best to word the message. "This war is coming to an end soon, whether we win or lose. I have plans for when it blows over, and I'm going to need some capable allies. With my new inheritance of the Phoenix Corporation I have vast resources of technology and information, but none of that matters without a proper team. Are you interested?" [No exp for the following posts, out of days] [Ship Communicator: Open Line] The Beep beep accompanied with a flashing red light made the doctor's head look over to her side, seeing the image of the one, the only, Keroth appeared. Steel blues stayed on the image as he spoke, glancing every one and a while to the space to make sure a meteor or anything of the sort was coming at her. She listened to what he had to say, and at the mention of the word "Phoenix Corporation" she used a free hand to reach over to her keyboard, type in the words quickly, and did brought up a search engine of all the information she needed on the organization. She glanced back to his image, blinking in confusion at seeing the tail. He didn't have one of those before... Eyes glanced between him and the information she found on the search engine, but the search engine was coming up blank. Whoever was working on these files in the Tuffle Legion needed to be whipped back into shape. The image he looked onto was the female in question sitting in the cockpit, one hand on the steering wheel and the other clicking on a keyboard. Long black hair was cascading down in its usual manner, glasses on her face, and a lab coat over her body. She looked at his image/ the camera/ communicator, whatever... and it was "Serena". "I was wondering if you were ever going to get a hold of me again.. " She smirked before continuing. "And the name isn't Serena. I am Doctor Lishka Toft, a Tuffle and lead engineer and scientist for the Technology division for the Tuffle Legion. I am sorry I had to lead you on before. I thought you were a human as well, and I apologize about the confusion. I like the new edition." She spoke about his tail, giving a nod as it swished behind him. "Thank you for returning my ship to me, it was missed greatly. I didn't even realized we dropped it when we last met." Getting past the introductions and straight down to business, she crossed her legs, placing both hands on the steering wheel as she gave a glance to the open space ahead of her just to make sure she was on track. " I am interested.. but please, inform me. What is the Phoenix Corporation? The databases I am looking through are coming up empty." |

Keroth snickered slightly, he had learned previously what her real name was but to him it would forever be Serena. "No need to thank me for the ship, I may have given it some...rough mileage. First time piloting and all, heh." Toft brought up the point of the Phoenix Corporation's lack of history, which he had wondered himself. He used the nano-chip unwillingly placed into his head to check the log files. "Well, that would make sense; it looks like these people went through a great deal to prevent anyone from learning about them. I've been checking the file logs, and the Phoenix Corporation has been a technology-based company that entirely existed to prevent monopolies and 'stagnant marketplaces'. Whenever they released some new tech, they'd give it the brand of some small company and make them rich enough to compete. Apparently a council of Kanassans foresaw that the Universe would fall under one company in the field of technology, and when that company fell it would lead to countless wars between the branches. To prevent this, they started the Phoenix Corporation." Keroth paused for a second, using the nano-chip to check the log files again. "Seems like the original council was like the Illuminati, but philanthropists. What sucks for them though is that the competition assassinated the last of them almost two hundred years ago. The Corporation still has secret bases on most planets, and about half of them are still functional through droids." Keroth stopped for a second. Am I really saying this? When the hell did my life turn in this direction? He looked back to the screen at the beautiful Dr. Toft, "So, I've got about five dozen immense factories hidden on a dozen planets, excluding space bases. Half of them don't work, and the other half have been making their own technological advancements without influence from the outside world for two hundred years. I'm not much of a scientist, and I've got a lot of weird crap being built in my factories. Want a job?" He couldn't help but smile, he had been nothing but a farmer and a soldier for the last thirty years, and now he sounded like a cross between Capsule Corps and a James Bond villain. Rough mileage? Oh jeez. No wonder the backside of her poor ship was a little dented. Bumps and scrapes though make the thing unique, she supposed. She listened to him speak as if the information was implanted into him, because it was tons and it rolled off his tongue with ease. As he spoke she steered her ship to Plant, and nodded at what he said here and there again. It seemed legit enough, the reason why there wasn't any information on the company itself was because how old it was an how.... extremely under the radar it has been, and not to mention barely functional at all. Ran by droids and making crap from various places? It seemed fair. And he was offering her a job?! After this war she was suppose to be returning to Frieza to be a professor once more, but to be honest, as much as she wanted to help the bright minds of tomorrow, she knew she wasn't going to be doing it forever. At his blunt question of hiring her, she couldn't help but to smirk again and look down at the communicator, to give a nod. "If it's a scientist you need, I am the woman you can turn to. I would love to help. Especially with the advancement with technology.. but I assume you already know that." Those eyes lingered on him a bit longer, he had to know if he saw files of her, been on this ship, anywhere where she was. Those eyes lingered on the screen a bit longer before she looked back to void of space before she spoke again. "So where are you currently? I am heading to Plant as we speak to continue some business that needed to be resumed." A face to face encounter about the whole thing was the best option, but she knew that with her bouncing around and his... randomness, face to face probably wasn't going to happen. |

One down, three to go. he thought. "Well, I wouldn't say they're building crap, the primary AI, Janice, already threw together a Teleportation System for me on the fly. I think the facilities have two hundred years worth of alternative methods prepared, they just didn't have anybody to release them to the public." "As for where I am, it doesn't matter much. Once Fermal gets here I'll be heading to Earth for a...Meeting." He tried to disguise the fact that he was dying to see the Blazing Dragon in concert. "Then I'll be off to Plants as well. I have a base in the Grayrian Ocean, and I'm supposed to meet Reltan McTaile and Killian Fury there next week. Sending you the coordinates now." Keroth's image became fuzzy. "Looks like we're running low on power; I had it build a generator that can be powered by my energy signature, but it looks like it needs more recharging for now. I'll be carrying a generator around to bring the bases back into operation, but that's a bridge we'll cross later. I'll open up communications again when I can. Stay beautiful, nerd." He winked as the image died out. |
