Log 010 Kai? Well, I guess the rumors are true... Time: Is Time Prevalent in Heaven? Location: Snake Way After being judged to go to Heaven, and sent with a strawberry ice cone in hand (it was ice cream day and all), she looked onto the stretch of walkway ahead of her. She stood there, licking her ice cream, rolling the words in her head. Basically, I have to stay on this path, no use of Bukujutsu, or unless I get tired of this walking thing, and if I fall off I can easily slip into the gravity of Hell. She sighed. At least this will give me plenty of time to think about everything that has happened. She moved slowly, wanting to finish off that cone, getting a good view of what the area had in store for her. The skies were a light purple, with small puffy white clouds floating in the gentle breeze. As she peered over the ledge of the walkway, thick, opaque golden clouds blocked her view of below. She nibbled onto the cone as she looked at the walkway underneath her, and how it twisted and turned and curved so often. Once she was done with her ice cream, she decided it was best to kick off those heels, placing them in her pockets, letting her bare feet touch the cool stone, wiggling her toes. And, then, with a deep inhale, she zipped off down the road. As her body went into auto-pilot as she ran along the Way, her mind running back to the fight with Dr. Briefs. Where did it all go wrong?
Another tear slipped down her face as the memory rolled in her head. Then the scenes of her flying back to Vegeta with the use of The Mercury as a carrier, and her being attacked right when she landed. The fight went better than it did with that one Makyan though, she will admit, and they were both formidable opponents. And here she was, running along snake road. She paused in her movement, looking to where she was on the pathway. She couldn't see the Checkpoint behind her, and there was nothing ahead of her. A soft sigh escaped her lips as her toes lifted off the grounds. So much for being good and running the whole way there. Se gave a shrug to her thoughts as she shot off like a bullet, the momentum making her lab coat flutter behind her in the breeze as she shot towards the end of the Way. Finally, she began to pass travelers as she made her way down the path, the Castle where a blue skinned woman was watching from below, and various other things here and there. Finally the female got to the end of the Way, standing up and landing on the ground. She looked up at the small planet above her, and smirked. That must have been King Kai's planet. She kicked off from the Snake Way, and shot up towards the planet, until she realized she didn't need to use any more force to get to the planet She was caught into the gravitational force of the planet. As much as she tried to fight it, it dragged her further and further down, and then WHAM. Her body hit the ground like a sack of potatoes, her head smacking against a tree stump and rendering herself unconscious. [Day 1 // 1,267 Words] |

Is she awake? Bubbles! Go nudge her! She felt a... hand? Nudging her side, unsure what to think. The female Tuffle groaned at being touched and rolled over, blinking slowly to correct her blurry vision-- then she realized her glasses were knocked off her face. She saw a brown fuzzy thing hunched over her, a blue fuzzy thing, and was there a a small green rock on the brown thing's shoulder? She was so uncertain without her glasses. Confusion covered her face as she raised her left hand, finding it was extremely difficult to do so. Gravity... it's so much stronger here. It feels like I am strapped to the planet! She let out a groan as she got her arm enough up to have her fingers uncoordinatedly dance along the ground to find her necessary vision correctors. She turned her head to look left seeing if her glasses were anywhere close. It felt like someone placed their hand on the side of her face and shoved it against the ground. This gravity is fascinating. She bit her bottom lip as she turned her head in the other direction once she realized that her glasses weren't on that side of her head, and her face slammed down on the other way to look for her glasses. “Are you looking for these, my dear?” She heard a voice from above her, making her head slowly turn back to look towards the blue creature blinking. It was getting closer, before she saw a blue, chubby hand in her face with her glasses. “Thank you.” She slipped her glasses on and her vision came back instantaneously. The blue creature was a chubby blue alien dressed in robes, and the brown figure was a little monkey. Oh and that green dot she saw? A small grasshopper sitting on its shoulder, and they were all peering down on her, wondering who she was. The blue guy, once finished examining her body, let out a “Ah ha!” and smiled brightly, offering her a hand up. The gravity gave her tons of difficulty as she reached a hand up to grab his. It took a few tries but finally, her fingers barely grasped around his before he gave an easy tug up, which pulled her up in the air.... But when she was placed on her own feet, it felt like she was a stretched out rubber band being let go, and her legs gave out underneath her, shooting out from under her and making her fall straight on her rump. Both hands went behind her upper body to catch herself from laying back down again. It was a struggle, but she was slowly getting use to it. “Well, that didn't work out as well as I wanted it to. I am King Kai, ruler of the Northern Galaxy. But, being the atheist that you are, this may be a shock to you.” He said with a smirk, placing his arms behind his back, peering down at her. All Lishka could do was nod slowly. He knew who she was, and her beliefs. As a scientist she kept religion out of her life (much like the rest of her family) and this whole “dying” thing, the Heavens, and now having a Kai in front of her was an extremely humbling experience. “I'll let it slide, of course. I understand fully how people should do the “believe it when I see it” sort of thing, and you are here. And I have kept such a log on you, Dr. Toft. That is why I am allowing you to train with me, because I see great plans for you in the future, and yes, I know you maybe leaving me soon.” She blinked surprised.... People can leave the afterlife?! That's like breaking physics with a black hole... but she wasn't going to push the issue today. “But, I think a little more of my training and you'll be one of the best the world has ever seen! Now, first things first, you have to stand. And take your time, I have all eternity.” He chuckled to himself at his little joke, and all she could do was nod to him. She kept quiet during the whole process, as she knew her words weren't necessary right now. Her first attempt was an epic fail as she tried to push off with her hands and tuck her feet under her, as she just fell flat on her face then. A heavy sigh escaped from her lips, pushing those glasses up the bridge of her nose, and gave herself another push. At least this time things looked a little better as she was able to get her feet under her and have her back completely straight.... before she fell onto her knees and sat back on her heels. Next try she got one foot on the ground, as she remained in the kneeling position. Next try, she was finally a two-legged creature, but she was hunched and placing her hands on her knees for support. Next try she was standing fully upright, but it was proving to be the most difficult. “Now.... step.” Making her lift a leg off the ground made her topple like a bad game of Jenga!, and the whole process of getting back onto her feet even more troublesome. The Ruler of the Northern Galaxy still waited for her to step though. Slowly and very unsteadily, she finally did. “Now, another step.” She nearly fell over with the second step, but she did it at a much faster rate. “Again.” Her footing was a hell of a lot more sturdy as she moved again at a faster rate. He just repeated herself and she moved again with more ease. And again. And again. And again. Each time she moved it got easier and easier, until she was walking as she normally would. She did a few laps around him, and the typically cold stone doctor couldn't help but to break into a smile as she finally stopped in front of the blue man. She placed her hands in her pockets, peering down on him. “Well now that you got the basic idea of this gravity down, time to start training!” A look of curiosity appeared on the good doctor's face, and he continued. “First thing first, this is Bubbles.” He waved to the monkey, who bounced up and down, and that grasshopper jumped from the monkey's shoulder to the King Kai's. “You have to catch her.” “Catch your monkey?” He nodded. And with that Bubbles shot off. Lishka could only blink at at the speed of the creature, and placing her coat off to the side, and tying her hair up with a spare clippie she found in the depths of her pockets (believe me, you never know what you can find in pockets), and sighed, wishing she had more comfortable clothes. A chuckle from the Kai himself made her look over to him. “After you catch Bubbles I will have a change of clothes for you.” She could of swore when she turned her back she heard him say something about the whereabouts of Master Roshi. With a keen eye, she watched Bubbles patterns as the monkey ran around on the small planet. It was time to give chase. [Day 2 // 1,222 Words] |

Or was it? Running was proving to be most difficult for the former professor as she felt she was knee deep in mud, wading through the madness to even get somewhere. The more she moved though, the easier it got. What she thought was hours, she was finally at full running speed. However, before she could given start to chase down the monkey, the kai stopped her. Stepping in front of her only confused the woman, and what he said made her even more confused. “Tell me a joke.” “I... beg your pardon?” “Tell me a joke. I forgot this was apart of my criteria for someone to train with me.” That left eyebrow was quirked on her face. A joke?! Seriously?! She bit her lip, stroking her chin. She didn't really surround herself with humor, so she had to figure out something that she heard from the office. Her eyes lit up, and she turned to him, speaking slowly. “There are three engineers in a car; an electrical engineer, a chemical engineer and a computer engineer. Suddenly the car just stops by the side of the road, and the three engineers look at each other wondering what could be wrong. The electrical engineer suggests stripping down the electronics of the car and trying to trace where a fault might have occurred. The chemical engineer, not knowing much about cars, suggests that maybe the fuel is becoming emulsified and getting blocked somewhere. Then, the computer engineer, not knowing much about anything, comes up with a suggestion, "Why don`t we close all the windows, get out, get back in, open the windows again, and maybe it`ll work !?".” All she got were blank stares at her. She felt her cheeks burn for once..... was she actually embarrassed? She cleared her throat, trying to think of another joke. “ A magician was working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The audience would be different each week, so the magician allowed himself to do the same tricks over and over again. There was only one problem: The captain's parrot saw the shows every week and began to understand what the magician did in every trick. Once he understood that, he started shouting in the middle of the show. "Look, it's not the same hat!" "Look, he's hiding the flowers under the table!" "Hey, why are all the cards the Ace of Spades?" The magician was furious but couldn't do anything, it was the captain's parrot after all. One day the ship had an accident and sank. The magician found himself on a piece of wood, in the middle of the ocean, and of course the parrot was by his side. They stared at each other with hate, but did not utter a word. This went on for several days. After a week the parrot finally said, "Okay, I give up. What'd you do with the boat?" King Kai cracked up from the joke, his round body falling to the ground and rolling along the floor. Hearing a wheezy “go ahead” by him as he tried to regain his senses, she cleared her throat. She hoped she never had to tell another joke. She was horrible with them. And like that, she gave chase to the creature. That monkey though was nonstop during the whole process, and seemed to eat a whole cocoa tree for all the energy the little thing had. She ran after the little thing, but it was tricky!!! It turned on it's heel and would go in the opposite direction, and zig zag constantly. After running in what she felt were circles she realized there was a cycle, and with a smirk on her face, she stopped running. The monkey didn't realize this until it was too late, but Lishka's speed was incredible now as it looked like she appeared in front of the unexpecting Bubbles and grabbed her with both hands, holding on while the creature wiggled in her hands. She was a sight to be seen though, that skirt was already worn down, splitting up the side, riding high onto her thigh, as her blouse lost a few buttons. Holding the squirming monkey, she was gasping at how much force the gravity had on her, and then let go of the monkey to play her hands on her knees, catching her breath. A chuckle from King Kai himself as she turned to him, exhausted. “I believe that's all we can do for now. Please, go into the house... in the spare room there is a change of uniform, something more fitting for training.” Lishka nodded towards him, and went into the house. While she changed, King Kai looked at his monkey and sighed. “You let her catch you, huh?” The monkey hooted and jumped around, and the blue man just chuckled again. Inside the house, the doctor changed out of her rags, just placing them off to the side as a thought hit her. Does Heaven have a garbage disposal system here? A smirk played across her lips at the randomness of the thought, as she slipped on that blue undershirt before she stepped into those orange pants and gi. She looked at herself in the mirror as her hands began to work on tying the blue belt around her waist, and she blinked. “I... actually look like a warrior now. It's so odd.” Fingers danced over the emblem on her chest, before she slipped on the boots. She stepped out of the house and saw the Kai standing off by the tree, head up as if he was watching the clouds through his dark shades, enjoying the day. The boots on her feet made her steps more quiet, but she wasn't quiet enough to sneak up on him. “Do you wish to know how they are doing?” She blinked in a confused manner, moving up beside him. “Your family. Do you wish to know how they are doing? You have been away from them for over a month now, and things have certainly changed. Do you gander a look?” Uncertain, the female could only nod her head at his offer. “Place a hand on my shoulder, and shut your eyes, focusing your thoughts on those you care about.” Long, thing fingers snaked onto his shoulders, those steel blue eyes shut, and her mind focused on her family. Mama Toft, who she knew for her loving personality. Her nieces, Desnia, Darlene, and small baby Lily, who played together in the house or on their trips to the park. Their personalities lit up her life in no way has it be lit up before. They were such a positive force in the Doctor's life, and she wouldn't know what would happen to them. Her thoughts moved onto her siblings. Her younger brother Loren, with his ingenious mind and how they spoke hours upon hours on science itself, and found themselves seriously debating on various topics. She thought of her only sister, shy, sweet Leyna, and how she knew she was studying within the fields of microbiology. Liam was next on her mind, and how that twin was so radically different from his female counterpart, and such and expert in weapons. Finally, to hot headed, young Lyle. As she thought of each and every one of her family members, her mind began to spin and she felt herself tunneling down..... [Day 3 // 1,231 Words] |

The tunneling stopped. All the movement stopped. Through him the scene was playing out clearly in front of her. It was in the kitchen of Mama Toft's house, and like always, a pot or two were on the stove, heating up the contents inside, the lid hidding what it could be over. Mama Toft was wearing her normal sundresses... but this one was black. Apron wrapped around her as sobbing could be heard. Their view shifted.... and that's when both of them could see that she wasn't chopping of onions. Is she crying over me? Be quiet, we'll see. “Mama?” Leyna appeared in the door, her shy, quiet demeanor having a sad aura around her. She wore all black as well, her face flushed from crying earlier. Mama Toft quickly wiped away her tears before looking at her daughter in the entrance. “Yes, my dear?” “The ride is here.” “Go get the girls, please.” Leyna nodded slowly as she turned and went off to venture for her nieces and her own daughter, as Mama Toft slipped out of that apron and took the pots off the heat, turning the power off so she doesn't burn down the house. Checking herself in the mirror, Leyna appeared with the girls in the doorway. Baby Lily, carried by Leyna and dressed in a simple black dress, rested against her mother in a quiet manner, unaware of the events around her. Desnia and Darlene held hands, wearing identical black dresses, and Desnia reached up for her grandmother's hand. Mama Toft took it and gave a reassuring smile to the younger generation, before they all walked out to the town car waiting to take them to their destination. The scene changes with Frieza's weather, it's actually overcast, grey, and gloomy. The car pulled up to a cementary, and her family exited the car, making their way past the tombstones. The girls were exceptionally quiet, they knew that their typically questioning and curiosity, holding onto a bundle of flowers and a teddy bear. They moved in silence for a minute over the grassy hills, passing tombstones and small statues here and there. Finally they stopped in front of two fresh mounds, with shiny marble tombstones on there. Lishka moved her free hand up to place over her mouth, and King Kai moved a hand to hers, patting it as they kept watching. Their view moved could read the headstones now, and one of them were for Liam Toft, and the other for Lyle. I can't want anymore. Get me out of here. Her hand slipped from his as her mind broke from the.. whatever the hell you could call what she just witnessed, her eyes opening up, tears stinging her eyes as she turned, took a step, and fell to her knees, sobbing. Her shoulder shook as her hands hid her face. Her youngest brothers... dead. Kai turned to her, watching her with a grim look on his face. All she could do was hate herself, hate this damn war, and hate their passion to be apart of it. A fist slammed into the ground, then another. “Why?!” She cried out, sobbing again. King Kai just kneeled down beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder, trying to be supportive. After a few awkward minutes of her crying, she became quiet, wiping her eyes. She muttered something not audible. “What?” She inhaled slowly, looking up at him. Her face was flush, those eyes red as she slipped the glasses off her face to wipe away the remaining tears. “I asked if you knew how they died....” “Oh. Right. Let's see.” He rose his head, clearing his throat, focusing on the information. “The youngest, Lyle.... he was caught in the crossfire on Earth at Fort Zero.” “And Liam?” “Hmmmm....” He focused again. “One of the stations in Rein where he was located was destroyed.” “What about Loren? Any news on him?” “Uh” The kai was caught looking again and sighed. “Held prisoner in Vegeta City as a P.O.W. He has been out of communication with your family for weeks, but they still have hope for him.” A cry of frustration escaped the typically quiet doctor, as she slammed her fists against the ground. There she left a mini crater from the impact. King Kai looked onto her in a concerned manner, hoping she was okay. She nodded slowly at nothing that he could see, and began to stand slowly. Trying to regain her composure, she turned him and inhaled slowly. She did all the mourning she could. She needed to her mind to be focused on something else for now. “What is next in the training regiment?” Kai just looked onto her in amazement, quiet for a moment. How she kept her calm for so long, how she acted, it was really phenomenal. “Uhm, the next part of training you will be chasing little Gregory. Take this mallet and smack him on the head.” The little grasshopper hopped in front of her, starting the smack talk early in hoping to rile up the woman. “C'mon lady! You can't ever hit me! I am the fastest thing out there! Oh yeah, I am so small too that your aim isn't going to get anywhere near me. That's right, I said it!!! C'mon try to get me! You won't!!” He did a victory dance in front of her, while the blue man gave her the mallet, which with as much training she has had, it was light in her hands. Her grip tightened around it, watching the grasshopper (or maybe it was a cricket now? Who knew, she wasn't an entomologist) scamper off into the thickness of the grass of the planet. With a small “hmph”, the doctor shot off behind the cricket/ grasshopper/ whatever hop and shoot off in front of her. He was right, he was really, really reallyyyyyyyyyyy fast. But she was getting quick, shooting after him, taking the quick corners that the small creature took, trying to through the Tuffle off his tracks. She did get lost on occasion, skidding to stop herself from running into a tree or the side of the house but in turn using the immovable object to bounce off of it and shoot herself after the annoying green thing. Gregory tried to throw her off once more, by running through the legs of King Kai. Dr. Toft moved in the same direction, not even realizing she was about to collide with the man-- until it was too late. They impacted, and the two rolled, leaving Bubbles and Gregory laughing at the both of them. Toft and Kai were a tangled mess as they laid there on the “road” of his small little planet. The female was blushing heavily at the predicament and with a jumbled “sorry” she quickly slid away from him. She got up and stood, and while the man shifted himself up, Lishka was after Gregory once more. However, she knew his pattern. She shot after the creature and before he could turn, she flew in another direction to cut him off, swinging that mallet down on him. He caught on though, and the mallet missed him, but just barely. All the doctor could do was stand there, with a perplexed look on her face as she tried to figure out a way to catch the creature. [Day 4 // 1,231 Words] |

That Gregory insect was a tricky little fellow, as the chase continued on for at least hours. Lishka just waited it out, watching him as she gave chase. When the little thing realized she wasn't chasing her anymore, he stopped, taunting her by shaking his body, placing his thumbs (do crickets have thumbs?!) against his his temple and shook his hands. “Oh c'mon you old hag! You are taking foreverrrrrrr!!! Are you tired? Do you need to catch the early bird special before you go to be at six?” He blew a raspberry at her, and then shot off. He thought he would rile her, but he did not. Instead, a smirk played on her face as she waited for him to do his first twist- a shot to the left. That is when she went after him, and she shot to the left. Because she knew the pattern far too well, it would be go as follow: straight a hundred feet, then right for thirty feet, left for ten feet, then right again, then left, then a complete u-turn. She caught onto this system well enough, and while he was too busy doing his turns and trying to throw her off, but it didn't work. She swung the mallet down with such force that they thought she was going to obliterate the small creature, and Gregory himself gave out a little shriek. But instead she caught herself, and gave him a little “bop” on the head with little force whatsoever. She threw the mallet off to the side inhaling slowly. Gregory cheered at his point of still.. erm... living, as one would put it, and cheered that she passed this round of training. King Kai clapped his hands as Lishka couldn't help but to smile at her success. “Well well, good job! Now, onto the next level. Are you ready?” The female was about to reply, but her stomach interjected with a low rumble. “Uhm, may possibly a lunch break or something.” When was the last time she ate? That ice cream she had... but that was about... Days? Months? Ago. She was starving. King Kai let out a laugh as he nodded, waving her into the house. When they went in the two, the kai and herself began to cook up a meal. Noodles with tons of vegetables and chicken were prepared, and the scent of the food filled the air. Bubbles and Gregory did what they could to help out, the monkey was cutting the fruits and veggies for the meal and dessert, while Gregory, with his speed, stirred the broth and the noodles. The smell was wonderful, and her helping out in the kitchen just reminded her of home.... which in turn reminded her of what she recently saw. Her appetite disappeared at the thought, and with a soft “excuse me” she stepped out of the kitchen and through the house, and went back outside to the grass, and took a seat. The female allowed herself another moment of weakness, letting her legs curl up close to her chest as her arms wrap around her legs, her head resting against her knees. A soft sigh escaped from her as those eyes just watched the grass flutter in the wind, just letting her mind get lost in a sea of thoughts. All she could do was remember her brothers that have passed, and hoping that these thoughts could help the pain ease of her family. Her memory went back when she was eleven years old, and her father got her and Loren out of elementary school, with the twins, all walked into the hospital room to greet their new addition to the family. Lishka, as the oldest, was quiet during the whole process while the others chattered in there curiosity. Her long black hair was pulled up into two buns, and she wasn't wearing glasses, just yet. Mama Toft looked exhausted from the delivery of the baby she was holding in her arms but she was happy. Mama Toft handed the small baby off to her oldest daughter, and Lishka, confused, took the baby in a gentle manner, and looked down at him, speaking softly. The baby boy was asleep, his full head of hair was dark brown, but he slept like an angel. “I promise..” Younger Lishka spoke to the baby gently stroking a finger along his chubby little cheek. “I promise to protect you, to love you, and to always have your back.” “I... broke that promise.” The tears stung present-day Lishka's eyes now, as she hugged her legs tighter, burying her face into her knees. Her mind wandered onto Liam now, because she wondered what his other half – Leyna will do without him. They were teenagers. Lishka was sixteen, and Liam was eleven. They were in the park, walking home together from school. Liam wasn't a scary force yet, in fact, he was a scrawny, puny little kid. That made him being picked on often at school. In the park they ran into a group of Changeling teenage thugs, who were hitting on Lishka and pushing around her little brother. Despite her being as passive as she was, she wasn't going to allow her brother to be pushed around. She cried out, slamming her bag of heavy books into the back of one of the boys, and swung it around, catching another boy in the chin. She screamed out at them, telling them they had no chance in hell with her, and that she was going to destroy them the next time she caught them anywhere near her. She helped Liam up who promised her that he would always be around to protect her like she protected him. From that point on, he fell in love with weapons and technology. The technology was a Toft thing, as his older brother and sisters have noted, but he loved technology of how it advanced weapondry. “And now that love has killed him...” She sniffled, sighing heavily as she kept her head on her knees. “You know, they think you are too busy with your work, like Loren, to even make contact. None of them are focusing on negativity.” Lishka looked up at the blue man, who took a seat next to her. “Good, I want them to believe that I... and Loren are still alive.” Technically, Loren was still alive. She on the other hand..... was not. But still, she wanted to give them hope, and not to mourn her. She stood slowly, patting the kai on the shoulder as she nodded, inhaling slowly and wiping the tears from her eyes. He nodded in return, and stood up as well. A smile played on that blue face, hoping to cheer up his student. “Come now, dinner is about ready and I want to get some more training done before we call it a day." She nodded in agreement, attempting to smile back at him. She felt her appetite creep back to her, and she rubbed her rumbling stomach. Into the house they went, eating the food, smiling, chatting about everything under the sun. The kai was curious about her work and technology, and rapid fired questions about her work and if she could work on his car. She questioned why he had a car. “Because it looks cool, duh!” She couldn't help but to giggle, and started laughing when Bubbles and Gregory started to fight over a rice bun. She knew this wasn't home, but it was nice to be a loving house... it was a while since she felt the warmth. [Day 5 // 1,266 Words] |
