So, I'm slowly transitioning the engine over to 3d, although with a hanful of problems(due to Vista, mostly, not the engine itself.) That being said, I have successfully managed to transform the jumping damage text into 3d. Now, one can't normally draw text as a moving object in three dimensions, from what I've gone over. So, I exported a sprite of the numbers 0-9 into a sprite, checked how long the number was, and drew each damage digit as a sprite. It turns out quite well. The text also jumps in the 3d dimension as well. It sort of flies at your screen instead of just all around the enemy. You'll see when we get the next demo up. |
