I know this is probably far from everyones mind, but it is an idea I have been tossing around for awhile. I kind of had a thought of actually making a book out of this (with kaf permission of course). This will be such an in depth game with enough plot to it that making a book will be easy., Though I may have to wait till summer to get a start on it. Tell me what you think. |

Trollish responses are frowned upon, TwSintija. As for making a book, if you're talking the full-on text type of book, I doubt that'd be a good idea, with this being a game where characters are expected to get stronger through battles, the concept is difficult to capture in mere words. |

It was just an idea. And I personally don't care about trollish criticism. Sometimes it helps as long as it can be explained. Actually the idea of writing a book is unoriginal, but actually writing the book is the original part. Its not hard to write how the characters evolve its done in practically every novel. But if you guys don't think its a good idea then I won't do it. |

That's what makes the response trollish, though - it offers no criticism save for an unexplained attack at some aspect of the proposal. If one adds their own thoughts into the matter then they'll be fine, but without any it's just a sarcastic quip. Even just "I don't think that idea is very original" would suffice. And I don't mean how the characters evolve as far as plot development- but it doesn't make much sense for a group of fledgling adventurers to be able to defeat foe after stronger foe without depicting many instances of growing in power, a concept that doesn't translate well into text. |

No offense, but you don't read much. or do you? From what it sounds like you don't read for fun, but I know that appearances, especially on the net, can be deceiving. What I probably should say is you may not read as much as me, which is bordering on about 100 books in the past year. So for me it would not be hard to write how they get stronger. Just have them talk about it. It's a little hard to explain. |

I don't read that much, I'll give you that. What I'm talking about is making the process have a place in the story, not be out of place or corny, and keeping it interesting all at once, and in my opinion that's not an easy task. If you can accomplish it, by all means, do so. I just have a high expectance, I suppose, since text is less action-packed than I'd like. |

Do you play dawn of war? Well even if you don't they have a good group of writers that actually right well with good action. The publisher is called The Black Library. The books fall in many categories. take a look if you want. http://www.blacklibrary.com/default.asp |

Well he didn't give me much information to give critique to begin with. I said it was unoriginal because it was just an idea without structure, what most of my friends do. They claim they are going to start writing books, and never really get to the point of starting. What is there for me to give criticism on? I do like the idea of character development (not just physical, but mental as well, if that was what you were implying). That is an old conservative concept in many books, and a good morale foundation if you want to write one. Whatever you do, just make sure the hero(s) resembles Batman. Batman is a universal hero, a conservative valued hero, and a hero with morales and values. Not a random anime hero who goes out to save the world to impress a hot chick. Heroes with motives other than just benign ethics are considered anti-heros (wikipedia calls batman an anti-hero, though when you think about the plot in depth, batman is the complete opposite spectrum of all of the evil in gothem). |

Thanks I will take that into thought. I will not start until we are further in the game though. I need to focus on the scripts more |

Dang. How'd I attempt to skip the part about this book being related to the game storyline. >_< We'll, anyways: I really doubt that kafka made Chase a universal hero. He'll probably start out like that anime character I referenced, and then gain morales and values throughout the game. |
