So, my guilty pleasure, car accident show is ....Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I know, so sad!!!!!! Actually pathetic. I dont really tell anyone I watch it. Next...Years ago I was babysitting, almost a nanny for this wealthy family. They were very nice and I loved their children. It was very clear that they were rich. It was only mentioned that they were in business. After months and months went by, I finally asked the wife, "What type of business are you guys in?"...little did I know, as their were no clues at all in the house anywhere...it was "adult entertainment". She said if I ever wanted free tickets just let her know. I said no thank you. |

I'm right there with you, Vel--I watch ALL the "Housewives of (fill in the blank), and I make no apologies! My bridge folks all know this about me, and it disturbs them. I don't chastise them for watching the soppy Hallmark channel, however (I hope I haven't stepped on anyone's toes there). So I guess the "Housewives" aren't a guilty pleasure for me. What an interesting story about your babysitting/nanny family. They probably are very conservative folk--most mad killers and sexually-obsessed folks are (just an opinion with only anecdotal evidence). Okay, that was my guilty pleasure right there--nasty commentary on conservative "family values." I had better stop now--and move on to favourite dialogue where i will break my vow and reveal the answers to my puzzles. Edited by Mary Ann, Jan 15 2011, 12:38 PM.

Oh boy, here goes: I have a secret crush on James Alexandrou (Martin Fowler). You're probably saying YUUUUCK. Oh well, can't believe I just admitted that. Many of my happiest days have been while I was England. Nightmare I have from time to time: I'm back in high school and have not been to various classes in a long time. I'm trying to find the class and am worried about catching up. I have dreams about my old career....TV broadcasting. I'm working in the control room and everything on air is screwed up! I have this one somewhat often and I don't like it!!! Guilty pleasure (TV) Judge Judy. Food wise: Blue Bell ice cream Most Embarrassing moment: Admitting I like J.A. :$ Whew! ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Scott, Jan 15 2011, 02:25 PM.

:) It wasn't a secret to me Scott!!!!!!! When you first signed onto twitter, I noticed 100 posts just to him. He has hot moments-like that picture above!!!!!! Funny Bobbie!!! Who knows...I may have even come home with a few diseases! MaryAnn-Some of us conservative types aren't all bad. :) I am very fortunate to belong to a church that chooses relationships over religion. I do not care for Rush-Glenn-Bill though, lol. |

^o) Ugh, Scott! Judge Judy!!!!! I cannot believe you would like that irritating program. You should keep that as your guilty secret. I guess I opened a can of worms when I admitted to watching Desperate Housewives. Your sister and I have something in common. Does she watch EE, too? |

Velvet, you're one of the good ones! Anyone who accepts me for who I am, scores big points in my book! Plus I think you're geniune, generous, (I could go on and on). I don't care for those you mentioned either. clap By the way, I certainly have not tweeted J.A. 100 times!!!! I just checked and I only have about 60 tweets total and about 43 were to him. Still, I was surprised there were so many. That's over a year and a half span. I tried to log in and can't even remember my PW or which email address I used...shows you how much I use it. Bobbie! Judge Judy rules! I like the fact that she is such a BLEEP. I find it very entertaining. My sister has no interest in the UK and has never been. She certainly would not watch EE. She loves reality shows, daytime talk and things I have no interest in. We couldn't be more different. |

sleep Wow! Miss a day on the forum, miss a lot of stuff. Vel British Flag --you don't sound like a "family-values" conservative so you're not under a bullseye on my target map (couldn't resist)--so you're not Sarah P. scared in disguise. Scott I don't fancy James, but I'd like to verbally spank Martin. I always liked Judge Judy, too; but one of my daughters thinks just like Bobbie (HI!) that Judy's awful. She is a bitch, too right--but she lives in a black and white world--few gray areas. So satisfying to have a grownup in charge of the asylum for 30 minutes a day (even if we know that doesn't happen). Scored some free ice cream from Blue Bell for a library ice cream social once down in Humble, TX. Don't you love that town name? Bobbie cat winking , both DH and the Housewives of Fill in The Blank could use some Judge Judy chastesement and some jail time, too! (Where's the judge/jail emoticon?) We have an excess of riches with all the great new emoticons. You may have to impose a limit on my usage, Scott. |

Here's a new "secret" from me: I love opera! Has anyone been to one of those HD Simulcasts from the Metropolitan Opera in a movie theater? It's a fantastic experience, and if you have never seen an opera (live or on TV), you'll be in for a real treat.

I'm not a big opera fan (I like classical music a lot, however), but have seen a little. I saw a performance at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra...it was actually a classical concert, with a little opera thrown in. And also, pretty much the same thing....classical concert with some opera at St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Have you ever been up to Central City to see any? |

Oh, this thread is just lively! And revealing! Can't reveal any of my secrets cuz then they wouldn't be secrets, would they? However, I will "fess up" to having had a wee crush on Nigel ... remember him? I thought he was adorable. And actually, the TV show I rarely mention that I watch is EE ... cuz unless you get it, you just don't get it at all. Even my British friends don't watch. But I do also watch Desp. HW and am a hopeless Oprah addict. I don't know what I'll do when this last season is over ... no cable for me. Guess I might consider taking up tatting ... (as in making lace, not tattoos) or finding an absurd law to break on a regular basis. Love to all y'all ... (in honor of Scott ... who, BTW, I think, would make a lovely couple with Martin!) Scott ... I'm really groovin' on the new color scheme! Very pleasant!! |

Yep, that's right Arlie. You are so funny to play it safe, but please know there is no judgement here ;) Although, I am a wind up merchant, and might tease a bit. So here is a secret that will make you all laugh...sometimes I feel really special that I know about EE and no else does. Its like being in a secret society...or knowing the secret to Superman or something. Especially if you're an American, not to many people know about this show. I guess the commercials are on all day long in the UK , and in their tabloids-so they can't escape it. When I do tell someone about the show, sometimes they look at me strangely and I am ok with that...as Arlie says "unless you get it, you just don't get it" I'm just so chuffed to be in the club!!!!! EE crushes...I'm an Alfie girl. :-) I don't think I have many secrets. I tend to be a "what you see is what you get" type. I also tend to own up to my own dorkiness, so I embrace my oddities and am not embarrassed by them. Interestingly I have managed to embarrass my sister by just being me, so that's something. lol Something that does stress me out and I do find embarrassing...but it's not a secret, everyone that knows me knows this...I hate the public, at a restaurant, singing of happy birthday by the wait staff. One year when I was a kid we went out for my birthday and I made my parents promise not to have them sing to me. Once at the restaurant my dad kept teasing me saying that they were coming. I was so nervous and stressed about it I was sick to my stomach. All of a sudden the wait staff came out of the back, clapping their hands, and singing their birthday song. I immediately burst into tears and was still crying when they passed our table and went to the one next to ours. Scott, what did you do in television? Sounds like you were a production person? So was I...I was a master control op, video editor, camera op, & floor director for a very very small TV station. I too have had those work anxiety dreams...in mine I can't find the tape I need to put on the air or can't get any of the buttons to work and we're airing black. Even though I have been out of the biz for almost 13 years, I still have those dreams sometimes. |

I've never had nightmares about it, but the Happy Birthday at restaurants thing is not fun. I've theatened a few people before, by saying "Isn't today your birthday?" Small world! We both worked in TV. I believe Arlie has worked in radio. Yes, I did all the things you did and a bit more. Some directing, audio, sweeping the floors, answering the phone, you know how it goes. I worked at KWGN for 4 years and then at DIRECTV (SE of Castle Rock) for over 8 years. I do miss it sometimes and others I don't! Where did you used to work? By the way, glad you're posting here
