I have been to the U.K. 19 times since my first trip in 1997. The last time I was there was 2007. I never thought I would have ever gone so many times. I've lucked out with good airfares and having friends in London and Yorkshire to stay with. Saved a lot of money that way, but also seemed to spend a lot.

I'm hoping to go back later this year or perhaps in 2012. I have one free trip just waiting to be used, with frequent flier miles.

I have been to the big four: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Most of my time has been spent in England, London in particular. I've been on many a day trip from London.

I think Yorkshire is beautiful and would like to go back there and see my friends again.

In Northern Ireland, I was mostly in Belfast, but also got to go to Derry and the northern coast.

I've been to Scotland twice, Edinburgh for the most part, but also to Glasgow and I took a full day bus trip of Scotland....everything flew by quickly, but at least saw some bits and pieces, including Loch Ness in the north.

I've only been to Cardiff in Wales, but would like to see more of that beautiful place.

I also would like to see Devon and Cornwall, which I have never been to. I've heard nothing but good things about both places.

I did go to the Isle of Wight once and found it beautiful as well. I lucked out as the weather was wonderful.

There are still many places I would like to visit in London. I always like going to some of my favorite pubs, or theatre, museums or the like....there's always so many things to do!

3!

Lucky You!

I'd love to go to all those places. I'd like to stay for extended periods of time. I would go now if I could go by car. Not likely, mate. However, I have been to all those places via my reading and classes in British Literature and via film and television. I loved the trips.

Oi! I'm finkin' on it!

I've been all over Southern Ireland. We didn't go to the North due to the unrest. I started going to Canada in college and have been there too many times to count, to British Colombia, Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
I've also been to many states in the US. England and Scotland are on the someday list for sure!

V., next to UK, Ireland is my favorite. The people, the food and the scenery are all brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there in a second.

I have been to Vancouver, Montreal and Niagara Falls, but all only briefly and many years ago. I really need to explore Canada. Can't believe I've never really done it.

I got spoiled with Niagra Falls and Niagra-on-the-Lake. I had an Aunt that lived by there and we used to visit. One of the nicest things about it is the Botanical University around there. They have planted so many incredible flowers. This is on the Canadian side where the big flower clock is.

Justine, I'm glad YOU found this forum. That's nice of you to say. I'm looking forward to more posts from you. How envious of you that you lived in London! I would love to. I've stayed up to 6 weeks at a time, but if I could I would stay there.

We are in the 1950s, aren't we? I remember them well in St. Louis, MO. Blackboard Jungle was in 1955 in US and 1956 in UK--so I'll guess 1956 is the year.

I found this dance hall online--The Galtymore, 194 Cricklewood Broadway,Cricklewood, London, NW2 3EB Tel: 020-8452-8652.

Here are pix from the Hammersmith Palais

My glory days were spent in the Peppermint Club, Delmar and Skinker, Saint Louis--close to, but not on, the DeBaliviere Strip where Ike & Tina Turner performed "A Fool in Love." Guess that year or decade.

Oh it sounds as if it's right out of a movie! Teddy Boys, yes I know them from doing research years ago. I'm a former Mod/Ska/Punk in the 1980's but it will always be with me. I still have lots of the clothes we used to wear. Every weekend was like wearing a costume. We took it all so seriously then-it was our life going to clubs and dancing. Oh how I miss it.

So glad you are here Justinecase! 1! Are you originally from Ireland?
