Ok, me of all people should know this by now, but I have just realized the limitations of the "Active Topics" button. 28!

When I get on the board, I click on Active Topics. I think it only shows the ones since you last checked. I have inadvertently been overlooking posts. If you skip a day or more, all those posts dont show up in "A T" , just the new ones from that day, right?

So now I am going back to Mar 4 to respond to some of the ones I missed. I kept telling myself "Oh I must have missed one, only to discover tonight that I have missed a lot!" Good gravy!

I never even noticed the "Active Topics" option until you mentioned it. I just come strait into the board and the icons show me if there are new posts and where they are...so a dark door icon shows new posts in a section and then a blue star next to a topic shows a new post since the last time I've been here. A white star means no new posts. makes it real easy to keep track. :-)

It took me a while to figure out, but the Active threads remain "active" for 24 hours and then drop off. The board is set to Mountain time, so that is when that occurs.

If a thread is replied to, then the clock starts anew.

I've looked high and low to see if there is a setting to extend the time, but haven't found anything. I don't think there is a way to extend it to say 48 hours, which would be better, I think.

So if you want threads to remain active a while, keep on postin' folk!
