How is everyone doing? Here are some random thoughts...

Best wishes to Mary Ann and her doggie.

I miss Arlie...what have you been up to?

Our next EE meetup is this Saturday and we will be celebrating the Royal Wedding.

John Bardon (Jim Branning) has filmed his last scenes on EE recently. I think his health has gone down hill after the strokes. It was gracious of the show to include him all this time.

Debbie in New York is creating another magazine and I sent along alot of questions for her to ask EE actors. Its a mystery who the actors will be though, so I asked generic questions.

I see people buying years worth of EE episodes off of ioffer.com. The reviews have been good. I thought about it, but thanks to Mary Ann cluing us into eastendersonline.com, I probably won't get any.

Thanks again Scott for all of your hard work on this board!!! 5!

Thanks Velvet for keeping things going lately....I've been a little out of sorts lately.

77!

That's sad to hear about John Bardon. I didn't even realize he had had strokes. I remember an interview I saw on line with him and he said that June Brown went on vacations with him and his wife. Can you imagine that? 97!

Is Debbie the one who talked to Shane Ritchie....I'm having trouble remembering?

BTW, V., do you know if they reached their fundraising goals in Minnesota? I'm assuming they did.

I'm a little suspicious of those iOffer DVD's....I think the person posting on Viewer Buzz was actually the one selling them...just my suspicions, of course...could be totally legit, but still wouldn't be allowed by the BBC, I'm sure.

Bracing for the inevitable Texas summer.....arrrgh. It's already been close to 90 a couple of times.

I'm in the home strech with the marathon episodes....I probably have about 10 more to watch.

Hope everyone here is doing well! 46!

Just thought I'd drop in for a quick lurk ... may be have more time to be here ... lost my job ... sigh ... no, nothing I did. The company that just hired me 3 months ago just closed down altogether ... couldn't make further payrolls. Ah well, one door closes, another one opens. Have a lead on a legit job I can do from home ... gonna pursue that baby. I'm having EE withdrawals though ... sent the last tapes back to Scott and can hardly wait for the next batch of episodes. Seems silly that a big ol tough cookie like me is so ATTACHED to a telly program. Anyway, Love to you all !!! <3

Blimey Scott...you are always invited!!!!!!! (and so is everyone else for that matter)

Oh Arlie-nice to hear from you, even if it wasn't the best of news. Something good will turn up! Hang in there!

OK, so false alarm on the John Bardon thing. Apparently that if a false story being put out there. Debbie talked to Enda Bardon, John's wife, and she said he will definitely continue with the show, and that he is actually doing better...hurray! He has had 2 strokes though and has trouble speaking, but EE just incorporated it into the storyline. Its always nice to see him.

Yes, Debbie was the one who spoke to Shane Ritchie, if it has happened yet-I'm not sure.

We made $2078 for Minnesota at our club in one day, which is really nice. The station said the giving was way down this time, so I hope our lot helped. I don't know what the station got during the drive.

The reviews were from other purchasers on ioffer, over many months, so its probably ok. Maybe someday I will do it. ioffer is not regulated like ebay is, therefore lots of dodgy purses and dvds are for sale I noticed.

That's good to hear about John. Wow! I thought you guys raised about $1600. Wasn't NY paying about $20,000 for the show? Surely MN isn't paying more than that and if so you contributed 10%.

Some people who couldn't make the meeting sent in their checks. I really don't know how much the show costs per year. One of these days I will ask Debbie, as she works with PBS on different fundraisers.

BTW-It remains to be seen, but our club numbers are down. I think we had 49 people come to the big fundraiser, but this last meeting was less than that. Considering we have 160 signed up, its not alot of active people. I think this is a result of the economy, as lots of people's job status has changed.

Yeah, the economy is affecting a lot of things these days, isn't it. Hopefully your attendance will pick up.
