I think Dot was a kid during the Blitz and sent out of London, but I haven't seen the episodes yet where she talks about it. In the early EE episodes, Ethel and Lou treat her like the "kid" of their threesome. |

I remember one episode, since I've been watching where there was loud thunder and lightning outside and Dot was starting to panic. She said to Jim: "It reminds me of the Blitz" or words to that effect. |

Aha! So she was there for at least part of the Blitz. So she definitely is part of that tough old birds group, just maybe 10-20 years younger. |

"Stacey: The bird in the café she's a bit up herself but not too bad. Yolande in the shop, she's up herself. She's all right sometimes. Pauline in the launderette, she's a right old dragon and she's up herself. The other one just goes on about God all day. My Nan's a battleaxe. My cousin Mo's all right but my cousin Zoë, wait till you get a load of her." Ruby: Do you ever say anything nice about anyone?" | |
