I think Dot was a kid during the Blitz and sent out of London, but I haven't seen the episodes yet where she talks about it. In the early EE episodes, Ethel and Lou treat her like the "kid" of their threesome.

I remember one episode, since I've been watching where there was loud thunder and lightning outside and Dot was starting to panic. She said to Jim: "It reminds me of the Blitz" or words to that effect.

Aha! So she was there for at least part of the Blitz. So she definitely is part of that tough old birds group, just maybe 10-20 years younger.

"Stacey: The bird in the café she's a bit up herself but not too bad. Yolande in the shop, she's up herself. She's all right sometimes. Pauline in the launderette, she's a right old dragon and she's up herself. The other one just goes on about God all day. My Nan's a battleaxe. My cousin Mo's all right but my cousin Zoë, wait till you get a load of her."
Ruby: Do you ever say anything nice about anyone?"
