That the neat thing about those older countries...all of the statues. There are some great statues in New York in the parks. |

Think I've seen this one in Russell Square park - looks familiar. Either Queen Charlotte or Queen Anne (either way, it was highly idealized). Either that, or I'm making it up! P.S. Googled and I was wrong on several counts. The statue I saw was Queen Charlotte in Queens Square and looks nothing like your wonderful picture, Scott! Guess I don't have a "photographic" memory (that's why they invented cameras ...). Anyway, great pic. I have tons of statue pics I've taken over the years. Nothing like Europe -- I agree.

Interesting, Scott! I actually spent a night in High Wycombe, but didn't know about this place. I was jet lagged after taking a train there and picking up a car that Volvo (which has a facility near there and is an industry "partner") lent me for a week and just spent the night to crash before driving to my rental cottage in the Cotswolds. It was what they call an Estate Wagon there -- everyone I met loved the car, but it was pretty big, and all that right hand driving side and left-hand manual shift, etc., and driving solo is not anything I want to repeat soon! Would have been nice to have taken time to see Heghenden Manor. Sigh. Another time ... |
