Uric, Son of Ullic
Adventurer of Tarinor

Marks: Prematurely greying hair, three large scars on his face. Medium-sized nautical star tattoo above his left breast in order to guide him on the way back home.

Uric was born into a nomadic clan of people in the far, far North. As a boy he was taught to ride, hunt, and -- before long -- to fight. As a boy of six winters he was presented with his own pony. As part of the ceremonial rites of passage to becoming a man, when Uric had passed twelve winters it was demanded he kill the steed that he had become so close with. Initially Uric, a strong-willed even in his youth, refused to carry on this tradition.

To act out in such a way was almost unheard of in the clan, and he was viciously beaten by two fully grown men and warned not to refuse again. Uric, bloody and bruised, retired to his fathers tent. When he came out he was carrying the small ceremonial hand axe which was customarily used during the rite. It was broad daylight when Uric hacked off the two heads of the men who had beaten him, and nearly sunset when he reported to the proving grounds to slay his closest companion -- simply to send a message.

Uric had broken the most sacred law of his people when by killing his fellow clansmen and as such was banished and charged never to return. This experience having sullied Uric's opinion of his fellow clansmen he readily obliged, saying goodbye to his father and forging off on his own. Through either luck or divine grace young Uric survived, living off the land -- hunting for his meals and curing his own leathers the way he was taught.

He wandered farther and father southward until he began taking up residence in small towns and villages, staying at inns and hiring himself out as a guard or, when the case suited him, a bounty-hunter. Uric's martial prowess and tracking abilities allowed him to fall into these roles perfectly and for years he roamed from town to town in this capacity, never stopping longer than a fortnight.

When the Parenthas Portal was in the wilderness outside of Eldenbridge hunting. He felt the disturbance and returned to find Eldenbridge is complete disarray, and upon hearing the news decided to stay and help evacuate the surrounding area and fortify the city. He is now under contract with Elderbridge city itself to help defend its borders (as they are continually undermanned) and when necessary carry out errands beyond those borders.
StrengthsLarge muscular frame at 6'4" and 250 lbs. Good constitution and a fearsome opponent in battle, able to function in severe conditions and even under great physical duress. Competent tracker. Proficient with heavy melee weapons including the axe, sword and mace. Good rider but prefers to fight on foot, requires a particularly strong stallion or a larger breed of cold-blooded horse usually set aside for work. Gruff and intimidating he has a very commanding presence.
Weaknesses
While not unintelligent, Uric is largely uneducated and almost completely illiterate. Carries several nagging injuries which make it difficult to sprint for any great length of time. Large, thick fingers make ranged weapons difficult to use and at any rate he lacks training in the art. Dismisses battle magic as cowardly and has therefore never practiced it, he distrusts most magic users although he has accepted healing services on numerous occasions.

This biography is good, just know that you start off with Linen clothing, satchel and 50 coins. As long as you obtain these items in character your all set.

Thanks guys, and yeah Dylan I understand but it didn't make much sense to me story-wise for that to be the case -- without having Uric waylaid by highwaymen or waking up from amnesia without his possessions etc, etc. Kind of silly to think that the only people to survive the Portal opening were the ones unarmed and in linens. I also don't see Uric wearing a satchel, I think he's more of a backpack kind of guy haha. Anyway look forward to roleplaying with both of you!
