Application Guide for Elusive Nights In this section, you post your application for the Elusive Nights RP. Below gives you a template for what you need to write in your application process. You post your application in a new thread here. Label your thread as follows: [Village] Week --: Character Name This makes it easier for the application staff, who evaluates your application to find it. The village is straight forward; label it either Konoha, Kiri, Suna or Iwa. The week is the the time system for the RP. While it does not matter much in game, out of game it acts as an organization system. The current week is listed in the Chronicle section of the forum. _______________________________________ Contact Information: This is where you write your AIM screename. Having a screename makes it easy for us to contact you. Furthermore, feel free to drop by our AIM chatroom, Elusive Nights. Feel free to send an PM to a member and ask for an invite! Name: Self Explanatory. You can either list in Western order (first name, last name) or Eastern order (Last name, First name). Age: Another simple spot. Most genin are often in their teens, but this may very on the character. Persona: Here you describe the personality of your character. You describe the good parts of their characters as well as their flaws. The flaws are vital to the character, and adds depth to your character. Make sure your persona doesn’t contradict itself. Furthermore, stay away from some of the cliches such as ‘lazy but brilliant’. Physical Appearance: This is where you describe how your character looks. Find a creative way to describe how your character looks. Add some memorable details to your characters appearance. You also describe what your character wears here as well. Biography: In this section you write the history of your character. Add a memorable past to your character that describes why your character acts the way they do. While it’s good to have some history written, don’t reveal all of it! This means save some for some flashback chapters and room to grow. Village/Rank: This is where you write the village your character as well as the rank of your character. All characters start out at the rank of genin. Kekki Genkai: If you wish to have a Kekki Genkai, here is where you list it. This not required. If you chose to add a Kekki Genkai later, you take a 50% stat reduction at that point. In other words, if you chose to want to have a Kekki Genkai, it’s best to choose now! Primary Element: Here is where you chose your main element. You gain another element at 10,000 chakra with a final element at 20,000 chakra. If you have a elemental Kekki Genkai, you list the two base elements and the combined one here. Slot Specialty: When you join EN, you automatically get THREE free slots in to be split between ninjutsu, genjutsu and kekki genkai you can use this to equip jutsu that is below your prowess in the stat. You get a new slot for every 250 points you have in ninjutsu, kekki genkai, or genjutsu.
The Sample Chapter: The main part of your application is the sample chapter; a sample chapter is considered a “test chapter” to let us have a look at the level of your writing capabilities and your style. This will also provide information on your character's personality in action. This must be written in Third Person. Remember, you aren’t going to be pulling off fantastic feats of skills. Your starting from the bottom, therefore, write like you are at that level. This means don’t act like the awesome superhero, killing 16 missing nins with out batting an eye. Keep it real, your chakra is still equivalent to someone who just graduated. Even though in canon Naruto and co. are fighting like crazy at this level, you won’t be. Another tip is to write with proper grammar. So this means spell check! An application full of errors only makes it harder for your point to come across! Make sure you use proper English, this means punctuation too. We won’t instant deny for errors, but it will slow down the application process. Edited by Nargles, Oct 20 2011, 11:37:16 PM.
