Alright... so most of us have read or watched Death Note...

And how it brings up, would you side with Kira or L?

Well... I'm reaching something like that.

In Tales of Vesperia, something similar happens. I sadly can't say without spoilers. All I'm going to say specifically is Yuri murders a criminal who would've gone unpunished... and another who would just keep going on abusing and killing others to get what he wants.

Now... I'm conflicted. I understand Yuri's ideal, but I aslo understand Flynn (Think, the L or Suzaku of ToV) who wishes to change the laws and fix them from within.

The reason THIS gets me more than Death Note?

L still used people and other less kind methods to try to catch Kira.
Kira was trying to help yes, but it was also more for reasons of ego and how he'll be a "God of a New World"

Now, Yuri on the other hand... He killed for true justice. He gained little, if anything form what he did. He wasn't feeding an ego. He was killing just TO kill. And he doesn't go around killing EVERYONE who messes with him. *coughKiraDidcough*

Yuri is an overall likable character with good reason behind his actions... which... makes me wonder... IS it right to kill a villain if it saves many others? Does it justify his actions? Would it be better to in Yuri's words, "Tell the people 'Sorry, you have to die today, but we'll try to make things better soon!" or is that worse than what he does? ...I'm just not sure... what do you think?

I say, some people do deserve to die. Does that mean we hav the right to take judgement into our hands? No. Criminals are people like you and me, but they are the worst kind of people. But killing a criminal means that you can kill any other person. Not even the law should decree who lives or dies. While I feel that all murderers and such should die, it doesn't mean I have the right to kill them, nor do the rest of the world. They will get the punishment they deserve, one way or another. But we as people don't have the right to kill other people.
