Because it's not like I've advocated this series enough... The World God Only Knows Keima Katsuragi is known as a God. His skills are legendary and he is THE proven master at his craft. People come to him for assistance and his very word has the ability to make even the most powerful take note. ...at least... in his games. Although known as 'The Capturing God' for his ability to obtain any heroine in any Gal Game (Dating Sim), his status only reaches to the Internet where his website helps other players in need (and unknowingly to him, his very words have managed to affect the entire Gal Game industry). In the Real World, he's known as an otaku who is constantly playing his video games, even in class. Not that he cares. Keima has absolutely no desire to interact with 'The Real' cursing it and the girls in it as he gladly prefers his gaming worlds. He seems rather content with his way of life. Then he one day receives a strange E-mail asking for help. Assuming it's about a Gal Game, he accepts the request. Soon after, a demon girl named Elsie appears and tells him how he just signed a contract to help her reclaim lost souls that have escaped from Hell. Keima being Keima, he instantly tells her no. However, the contract is binding and he finds a collar has appeared on him as well as Elsie. If the contract is broken or either he or his partner Elsie dies, then the collar will take off their heads. Begrudgingly forced to help, Keima must now hunt down the lost souls in the one way he never would have wanted to... He has to make the girls the souls are hiding in fall in love with him, and give them a kiss. Real girls. Guess it's time to put those Dating Sim skills to the test? It's really a WHOLE lot better than its premise sounds. The show/manga is BURSTING with references and shout outs to other games, anime, manga, etc and it never becomes a fanservice fest or anything as Keima continues his steadfast uninterest in real girls. What's more, once the Manga hits a certain point, a new element is introduced into the plot that REALLY gets it interesting. So, if you're looking for a funny show that hits the right marks, I highly recommend The World God Only Knows. My description doesn't do it good justice. If you end up liking the anime, go ahead and continue in the manga where the story REALLY picks up. Overall, this is one of the best series I've read with the humor and characterization feeling spot on. Seriously, give it a shot. ![]() Edited by Drill, Apr 12 2011, 08:49 PM.
