Prologue A bullet bounce off the wall right by Keb’s head, he pulled out his MZ-299 and fired two shots one landing in the man’s left leg the other in his neck spraying blood all over, he fell to the ground like a bag of hammers. Keb quickly ran up to the body and searched it. He found two 11mm clips and about 12 large gold coins; obviously he was working for someone outside the Empire. Keb holstered his MZ as he looked out of the train’s window, they had stopped un-scheduled this was not a good sign. He pulled his Combat Knife out and hid to the right of the Trains cart door. Just as he got into position the door burst open and about 3 Shietang Elite Police burst in with .50 SMG’s. Keb’s heart was in is thought he was no match for this. He slipped out before they saw him. Adrenalin rushing through his veins he jumped down the cliff side the train stopped at and into the river below plunging into the freezing water. Chapter one: The Police Officer Graham Denise was fishing by the Murrie river as he always did just before lunch when he saw someone’s body floating past him, he wasn’t about to let someone die so he jumped in after the body to retrieve it. The water was freezing literally it was below zero the man, and himself would die if they did not get out soon. He grabbed the man and struggled as fast as he could back to land. As he pulled the man out of the river and checked to see if he was breathing his wife came rushing over to see what was going on. “Oh my lord, what are you doing? Who is this!?” squealed Marry, Graham’s wife. “Do I look like I know!? I just saw him floating past in the river; I think I pulled him out in time.” Shouted Graham as he tried CPR on the man, the man then started coughing up water and said something to quiet for Marry to hear then he passed out. “What did he say?” asked Marry. “He... he said help me.” Said Graham looking confused. Marry and Graham just looked at one another for a moment. “Well we better get him into bed so he can rest up properly then.” Said Graham to Marry, so they look him into their cabin and placed him in the spear rooms bed and left him be. Keb Drall awoke to find himself in some sort of log cabin room. He got up out of bed and started looking round the room moments later the door opened and there was a man looking at him. “If you’re looking for your weapons their hidden.” Said the man. “Just give them back and I will be on my way.” Stated Keb looking the man in the eye. “I don’t think so, weapons are not allowed in this state.” The man said back with an equally intense stare. “What are you a cop?” scoffed Keb with a slight smirk on his face. “Yes actually.” Said the man in a steady voice. “Or I was I’m retired.” “Well stroke of luck for you sir, the names Keb Drall now I assume you know my name at least let me pass and give me my weapons and I will not have the Black Thorn come down on you.” Said Keb Raising his voice in anguish.“You’re not going anywhere in that condition and you’re not having your weapons, defiantly seeing as your Black Thorn!” Shouted the man. “What’s going on in there?” Shouted the voice of a woman. “It’s alright Marry!” he shouted back to her. “Alright dear, do be careful!” Marry yelled. “Well if I am to be here for a while the least you could do is tell me your name” said Keb as he sat back down on his bed. “My names Graham Denise, I found you floating down the river....what were you doing anyway?” stated Graham. They both looked at their feet like naughty school boys. Back at the Shiilong Capitol Palace where Apophis was arguing with Isis over territory Douglas McShamus walked over the grand hall over to the two of them with a greave look on his face. Apophis saw his face and his expression darkened more so. “What is the problem?” Demanded Apophis. “My Lord, The Agent we were supposed to capture alive is...dead, we found two 9mm bullets in his body...” Apophis then interrupted Douglas “And what is that supposed to mean?” He roared angrily. “...It....uh.....it means that we know who did it, the bullets were coated with Lizard slime, it was the...” Again Apophis interrupted “....The Black Thorn.” Said Apophis slowly and quietly, expressing concern in his face. “Yes sir. What would you like us to do?” asked Douglas. “Get me Prince Amness!” Bellowed Apophis with such might it shook the great hall. Douglas McShamus run as fast as he could out of the great hall. He would have to contact someone within the Black Thorn to get hold of Amness. As Ferric Amness walked into the bar every one stopped, the roars of laughter died, the angry shouting fell still below that of a whimper and the bar tender stiffened. “Don’t stop the fun on my account! I’m just here to drink have fun and chat to an old friend” as Amness said this he gave a smirking stare at the man at the back of the bar, whom was petrified with fear. Reluctantly things settled down as Amness walked over to the man with a large smile on his face, Amness’ Purple hood and cape made him look all the more sinister in the dimly lit bar as he pulled his black trousers up that were supposed to be kept up by with shining black belt. Amness now sat opposite the man with his hands interlocked and elbows on the table, he looked into the man’s eyes and his smile grew wider. The man looked around afraid; he licked his lips and fiddled with the handle on his tankard of beer, his other hand was on the table to afraid to move it, Amness noticed this and turned his eyes to look at the man’s hand then back at into his eyes. The man’s beard itched him, but he dear not scratch it. “I was going to pay them back honest!” I would never leave a debt un-paid! I have half of it with me here!” as the man moved his hands to grab his money Amness held up a hand for him to stop. Amness also lost the smile and darkened his face. “It’s too late; you had two months to pay back the 2,000 Sett. Ample time.” Stated Amness coldly. “But...but I have three red gems and two blue that’s 1,000 Sett, take it, LET ME LIVE PLEASE.” As the man said this he realised that Amness was not interested. He was silent and licked his lips again. “Someone......SOMEONE HELP ME, HELP!” He shouted, no one paid him heed not even a sideways glance. Amness smile returned to him as he got up. “You sick basted! ALL OF YOU ARE BASTEDS! YOU’RE GOING TO LET HIM KILL ME!?” He yelled in desperation. Amness threw the table out the way to the side took a step over to the man and picked him up by the neck. “Now my friend, you pay with your blood” Said Amness almost exited. The man screamed out in terror as Amness ferociously plunged a knife into him repeatedly. As the man fell dead to the ground Amness turned to leave to see Douglas McShamus. “Well I suppose you need to talk to me?” asked Amness. Douglas nodded, he couldn’t believe his look he came in here hoping to find someone to contact Amness and here stood the man he needed, albeit covered in blood but good enough. Apophis paced back and forth in the grand hall impatiently, expecting Amness any moment. At that exact moment as Apophis was thinking about him coming in Douglas came through the doors. For a split second Apophis showed surprise on his face before quickly putting back to dark and godly. “Where is he?” asked Apophis. “Right behind me my lord.” Said Douglas. “As I am, ‘lord Apophis’.” Said Amness rather smug, Amness being one of the very few people who knew Apophis was not an actual god but just a mage he often liked to remind him of that fact by acting all high and mighty around him. “You watch your tone around god!” demanded Douglas gruffly. “As you so wish.” Replied Amness with a smirk. “What is it exactly you with from my ‘my lord’?” asked Amness, making his expression more serious. “We were to grab an enemy agent with important information from a transporter train just or the west coast cliff lands by the Murrie River, and we arrive at the scene to find him dead. Killed with lizard slime bullets trademarks of the Black Thorn. Was one of your agents there?” asked Apophis raising one eyebrow. Amness shrugged “To the best of my knowledge no. But then again there could have been rogue agents there of even one on black ops, do remember I’m not the head honcho here, I’m not privy to all information.” Stated Amness in a tone expressing fanning concern. “Could have fooled me, you do act like you’re the boss. All the deals without telling Artimus, you’re supposed boss. Should we tell him and see what he thinks?” Threatened Apophis. “How dare you threaten me! You...you fool! Or are you forgetting what I know? If you wish me to stay silent then you would be so smart as not to do so again!” Blasted Amness in rage. “Tell me what I need to know, and I will forget you said that and not have you executed!” shouted Apophis back at Amness. Amness gathered himself “*Ahem* I believe I remember what you were talking about, yes there was an agent there...” Douglas interrupted “Who?” “If you had of let me finished you would know, now shut it. Anyway the name of the agent you seek is Keb Drall.” Finished Amness. “May I go now?” he asked. “Leave.” Stated Apophis, he then turned back to Douglas as Amness walked away. “Find this ‘Keb Drall’ Bring him before me alive, NOW!” demanded Apophis. Douglas nodded and left immediately to start the search. Mark Merden threw himself around the corner at some speed narrowly avoiding being grabbed by one of the S.E.P Force. He then climbed a ladder as fast as he could onto the roof tops; one of the cops took a shot at him. They missed thankfully but they were still hot on his trail, just a while longer he thought. He jumped over to several roofs and then down into the market square they wouldn’t find him. He stopped to look back at the roof to see them all stopped at the edge. They then started firing into the crowed randomly killing innocent people, what the hell were they doing? He thought. They had lost their minds in all the chaos and screaming he just stood there wondering how far this whole thing must go for them to just start killing people. Then he realised what they were doing but to late they saw him and soon he was surrounded by the S.E.P with no way out, he raised his hands and got down on his knees suddenly he saw a gun stock flying at his face then, nothing... Mark woke up in a dark dimly lit cell in the Shiilong palace dungeon. He looked around to find another three cells they were un-occupied. The old wooden Jail door screeched open and Apophis with two guards walked over to his cell. Apophis looked at him with a victorious smile on his face. “So I got you at last, Doctor Merden.” Said Apophis smugly grinning. “The truth will still get out my apprentice will de sure of that!” said Mark. “Oh don’t be too sure about that. We sent the S.E.P Force to his home to “collect” him.” Grinned Apophis, he then pulled his gun out and fired it at Mark. Right. Between. The. Eyes. Crag was on his way home from school and as he approached the house he noticed something wrong. His dads fishing gear was still by the river and the door was closed, he usually kept it open. As Crag warily walked over to the door if suddenly burst open with one of the Police Officers flying to the ground shortly followed by a man who jumped on top of the officer before plunging a knife into his heart. The man got up and asked “Who the bloody hell are you?” Crag just looked at him for a few seconds before replying “I could ask you the same thing I live here.” Then his dad Graham came out next to the man holding his old service revolver. “What’s going on dad?” Asked Crag worryingly. “You’re....you’re mothers dead son......the Police are after you for some reason.” Said Graham tearing up. Crag tried to cry but he couldn’t he just stood there looking blank off into nothing. “Well we need to get moving as soon as the officers don’t report back they will send more.....or worse.” Said the man. “Who....who’s this dad?” asked Crag. “An old friend.” Lied Graham. “The name’s Keb Drall son.” mentioned Keb. “Now do you have a car?” he asked “yes, a jeep its round the back” answered Graham pointing round the side of the house. It had been about twenty minutes after they departed from Crag’s home; there was a tension inside the car as they sped through the valley. No one knew what to say and Crag didn’t know where they were going, or understand why the police where after him and his family. It was Keb that broke the silence “So, you have any idea why the police came after you? You think it was because they saw you help me?” asked Keb in a chatty tone. “There was no one. They couldn’t have seen.” Stated Graham bluntly. There was silence for a few minutes again. “So where we headed?” asked Crag more to break the silence. “To see a friend. Dagon.” Said Keb. “No.” Demanded Graham. “Now, now we are seeing him, end of, I’m driving after all.” Said Keb. A day or so had passed by and before Keb knew it he had reached the south coast, he boarded the nearest ship along with Crag and Graham. The decided the best place to start looking for Dagon was Tanta, about 2 day’s trip by boat from the south coast of the Shietang mainland. Just as the boat set sail Keb looked back at the docks only to see what looked like every damn police officer in Shietang to arrive. But they were too late they couldn’t stop the boat if they wanted there was no way of contacting the Captain of the ship or any of its crew. This is just the begining more will come!!! |

Two things. Work on your punctuation. ANd never, unless it it is absolutely neccesary use a guns full name like "...he pulled out his MZ-299 and fired..." instead say rifle or pistol. Other than that I love it. |

I just can't enjoy books that rattle on about guns and weapons. Thats one reason I like fantasy, you dont catch them raving about their '56 inch 350 pound draw bow, with 1.5 inch arrows' |
