A mix of legend and history tells us that fifty thousand years ago a war loomed between the Realms of Terreille and Kaeleer. Witch, a Black-Jewelled, Black Widow Queen ruled Terrielle with an iron fist. Tainting all that she touched. Kaeleer wanted their freedom from Ellisinia Phoris as she was not Dreams Made Flesh, but instead a Nightmare. A fact that the Arachnian Weavers of Dreams confirmed. Each side sought to have sole control the Gates; Terrielle for the power of their Queen, and Kaeleer for their own protection. Assassins were sent. As fate would have it, they departed on the same night, and there was a bloodletting of Priestesses who held the knowledge of how to correctly light the candles that made the pages of history run red.
Now travel between the Realms is utterly shut down though one or two elusive figures remain - demons or Guardians - who retain the otherwise lost knowledge. In each of the living Realms the other has faded to distant myth.
In some places in each Realm, Blood Law and Protocol are still revered, and the Blood - those who wear the Jewels, and those who do not - work to protect the Land and to live together... if not quite in peace, then at least without taint. But in other places, Protocol has been twisted, Blood Law trampled beneath newer laws written by the strong to suit their own ends.
In Dhemlan Kaeleer, a Black Widow Priestess has stepped into a convenient vacuum of power. Queens tread lightly or flee to hiding as they are being destroyed one-by-one by a powerful force that yet none have escaped from.
The Dea al Mon, elusive Children of the Wood, have opened their borders for the first time in millennia in order to take in refugees from Dhemlan - but tensions rise between natives and refugees each day.
In Shalador, Blood Law is sacred and all males voluntarily choose to wear Rings of Obedience, now called Rings of Service - a testament to the abuses practiced and defeated generations past, and standing now as a reminder of the service that is the heart of the Blood. Now the old strong Queen is dying and young Queens from rival families, each with Dark Jewels, eye the throne and lay their plans. A civil war seems inevitable.
The knowledge lost that fabled day when the Priestesses gave their lives to protect the secret of the Gates is beginning to find its way into the Realms once more, and power in the Blood is also returning. Will Witch rise again and claim the long-vacant throne at Ebon Askavi? If so, will she be as terrible as the one who came before her, and throw the Realms into another spiral of destruction, or will she use her new-found power to remind the Blood that they are not really the rulers of the land, but instead its caretakers?
What will happen next in these Realms? Join us and help us write the next chapter of this history. Will you rule? Will you serve? Will you wear powerful Jewels, perhaps even receiving from the Darkness the fabled Black Jewels as none have done in generations? Or will you live in fear as a Broken witch or a lowly Blood male or even landen? Will you spread fear and taint and tear down Protocol and Blood Law? Or will you help to restore fragile trust, to serve and protect?

In more practical terms, Witch Storm is a play-by-post BJT rpg that tries to promote good role playing, good story arcs, some balance of power. It encourages everyone to play their share of the lighter Jewelled characters who would really be the back bone of Blood society and to keep the Dark Jewels special. It keeps the number of open Territories limited to have plenty of characters with who to role play in any given place. Plots are driven by the players and Territory rulers; the admin are just there to keep everything running smoothly - though they can usually be relied upon to make a character to help make that great plot idea you just thought of happen.
