Due to former Professor Snape’s abrupt departure from the school with the youngest Malfoy in the summer, the dynamics of the school have undergone a strict reorganising; Minerva McGonagall has been given the post of Headmistress after the tragic demise of the late Albus Dumbledore earlier in the year. However, word is spreading of the great wizard’s murder by Death Eaters, from within the sanctuary that was once considered the safest place in the Wizarding World. Parents and students alike are terrified that they may never see each other again, and instead are being removed from the school system or leaving their bill-paying jobs to return to their families. As student numbers find themselves at an all time low, the trio return for their seventh and final year at Hogwarts. Both simultaneously grieving for the loss of their old Headmaster, and finding themselves further spurred to bring an end to the War, they’ve all decided to courageously battle on in aid of their new Headmistress and of the school in which they have matured and become fiercely loyal students. The summertime has been remarkably uneventful otherwise; Diagon Alley was still open for business but is mostly deserted, as no one feels perfectly safe out in the open any longer. The Ministry were dealing with a backlog of complaints about the safety of the Wizarding World, but there had been no actual threats to anyone, or even any Death Eater sightings. In fact, there’d been nothing. The moment that Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape had left the grounds of Hogwarts, there had been no activity whatsoever. Many are taking it to be a blessing in disguise and do their best to continue to live their lives as normal, while others are watching their back at every turn - expecting the worst to come at any moment. No one is sure from where this eerie calm has come, and no one seems quite sure what to make of it. How about you? Edited by Envious Magic Staff, Apr 30 2012, 06:58 PM.
