Good afternoon everyone,

Congratulations to Jahka, who has been elected as Executive Culture Officer with 54.5% (6/11) percent of the popular vote. Congratulations to Hadisthe, who has barely slipped through into Executive Communications Officer with 50% (6/12) percent of the popular vote.

Commiseratons to yumyum36, who got blasted in the Chief Regional Ambassador election with just 23.1% (3/13) percent of the vote. I applaud you on your effort... big position to run for, next time though. Hard position to get the trust of the region for.

We are now proceeding with an election for Mekhet as Executive Recruiting Officer. I'll put the poll up in about half an hour.

Also, I am changing the name of Executive Communications Officer to Executive Press Officer to differentiate the acronym from Culture.

Um, I thought it was Cool Cats, I decided to step out because she can only be active till August, which means the three months timespan allows her to hold it for now.

I don't mind running after then, if I don't run for Communications.

:P

Giving money to those who won elections? That's a pretty sad thing to do. I could only imagine what life would be like if that happened iRL. Oh wait...

um, it gives an incentive to earn money, therefore making Equinomics actually worth more than salt.

Think about it first, then speak.

I already laid that out in the new Equinomics details, and you never commented on it. It's a way to motivate people to run for office. When they complete their term, they earn $200, and if they have 80%+ in the midterm rankings, they get I think $400 (too lazy to check the other topic). It's not bribery... nobody gets money for running, that would be far worse.

In the long term (months from now) I am going to propose charging people to run, and they get refunded if they earn a certain percentage of votes in the primary (ie 20% etc). Which isn't unrealistic at all, it's what they do in a lot of countries. By that time we will re-establish borrowing and debt, etc.

So I don't really see the issue with awarding people for winning elections...

So your incentive to run for positions and win them will be imaginary money in an imaginary market. Give me real money, then we'll talk. ;) :P

Yes, while you log in to an imaginary world where we politic, roleplay, money, chat and all that jazz.

It's just such a ridiculous idea, I think I need to log off the computer forever & do real things like hang out with Real Life people & spend Real Life dollars on Real Life things.

Revenge Is Best Served Frosty.
That's officially the first time I've ever heard of any candidate winning any election with a tied vote, as opposed to a majority.

But, congratulations to Hadi, I guess? Managing to win the seat with half the people against you is an impressive feat.
