The teen was sitting outside of her house, her back against the wall. A book was lying open in her lap, but her green eyes were focused on the distance. A Russian blue cat sat on the windowsill above her head.

"I can't help worry about Sorrel. She was pregnant but she still left...." The Twoleg spoke out loud, but meowing instead of using her own language.

The cat above her opened a muddy brown eye in annoyance. "I'm sure she's fine. Looking for that kitten was really important to her."

"I'm worried about him, too. All of the talk about Clan cats being vicious yet they both ran off."

"Really, Natsuna, stop thinking about it. It might take a few moons, but they'll be back. At least Sorrel will. I doubt she would join a Clan."

"Okay...." The Twoleg obviously didn't believe her.

Grunting, the she-cat jumped down onto her owner's lap and laid there. Natsuna instinctively started to pet her.

"Thanks, Kotoko." The kittypet purred in response.

Green eyes looked to the bowl of food and water near them. "I wish I could take care of all of the cat in the forest."

"Stop it," Kotoko sighed.

He pulled into the driveway of the familiar home carefully. He wasn't the best driver, and besides, this time he had precious cargo with him. On his way here he'd almost hit a cat. Two actually. Natsuna really needed to watch out for them... of course, the girl didn't drive so it wasn't as much of an issue. He knew though that Natsuna would be a better help to the pregnant calico that he found though... so that was why he was here. He opened the door and got out, opening the back door and picking up the sleepy partially blind cat.

She meowed softly at him, upset that she was being woken up from her nap. He closed the door and walked over to Natsuna and her cat, frowning.

"Natsuna, I have a favor to ask..." He looked down at the pregnant calico who was attempting to sleep in his arms. "I found this cat on the side of the road. It appears she is pregnant... and partially blind. Could you look after her?" His words were surprisingly soft as he spoke of the cat. The female began to purr, shifting in his arms. She was comfy there.

Natsuna looked up from her book as she heard the car. A familiar face emerged from the car after a moment, but getting something out of the car before approaching her.

"Hello, Matt." As he said he needed a favor, her eyes focused on the cat. It wasn't surprising he didn't want to take care of her himself. Matt was different than most people, and while Natsuna didn't condone his habits, she still considered him a friend.

"Sure. I've got room." The teen stood up and brushed herself off before approaching her friend. "*Hello. What's your name?"

"I'm Kotoko Ezakiya," Kotoko introduced before the newcomer got the chance to respond. "Natsuna can speak our language. It's really helpful."

Natsuna smiled before turning and entering the house, assuming Matt would follow.

Matt smiled in relief. He felt bad for the she cat... it must have been hard on her not having all of her sight, or perhaps not having any of it at all. He set the she cat down, who meowed in protest. He stroked her a couple of times, fairly roughly, and listened as Natsuna used her special speaking gift to communicate with the cat. The calico looked at Natsuna, blinking, unable to believe her ears. She knew for a fact that this was a two-leg! But... she spoke cat so well... The feline tilted her head to the side, confused. 'How strange...' She thought. Matt watched as Kotoko meowed at the cat he'd brought here, and he wondered for a moment if the cat was slow... But she meowed back and he shrugged, following Natsuna into the house. "Sorry about bringing her so suddenly..." Was all that was heard by the calico before she spoke again, confirming her own name.

"Yes... I am Reed." The she-cat purred. The she cat licked her chest and then glanced up at Kotoko. "She seems like quite the odd human being..." Reed meowed thoughtfully. The feline stretched and laid down, tail curling around her wide belly. "I'm having some trouble, Kotoko... I need to think of names for the kits." She spoke softly, not sure about the other she cat's feelings about little ones. Something seemed wrong with the litter too, already, though Reed couldn't pinpoint what that something was.

Natsuna laughed as she sat down at the table, beckoning for Matt to take a seat. "It's no problem, really. This way she'll get the care she needs. If you took her to the vet or something she wouldn't have as much attention as she needs. With only Kotoko here now, I can help her better." Natsuna looked out of the window before looking back at Matt. "Do you want something to eat? I haven't had lunch yet, so if you're hungry I can make something. You can take some extra stuff I have home with you, too." It wasn't all the time that Natsuna got to see her friend, so she wanted to help him as much as she could.

Kotoko laid down near the pregnant she-cat, brown eyes watching her belly. "Sorry if she scared you by suddenly talking. It scared me, too, when I first heard her." As Reed spoke about her kit's names, Kotoko started to wonder what she would do about kits of her own. "I see. Do you have any ideas? Whatever sounds nice to you is probably the best thing to go with. If you have trouble, they don't need to have names right away...." The she-cat paused, realizing something. "About how long until your kitting?"

"Oh? What happened to Sorrel? Do you need me to go looking for her?" The she cat wasn't likely to go off without a good reason, and it troubled Matt to think that she had. 'I'm certain that Natsuna misses her. She was a nice cat.' He thought. The male gave a slight nod. "That sounds great! I love the food you make, Natsuna. Always so much care into it..." He smiled sweetly. "I mean that though, Natsuna. I'll help you look for Sorrel if you want. No matter how long it takes."

Reed shook her head with a smile. "It's all right. Stranger have happened I suppose." The she cat yawned. "I was thinking Vincent if I had a little boy... but the only thing coming to mind for a girl is... Rainbow." Reed chuckled. "Sounds rather silly, doesn't it?" Reed giggled. "My kitting? Well... I should be having them any day now. That is why I'm thinking of names."

Natsuna gave a sad smile at the question about Sorrel. Of course Matt hadn't know; it just happened recently. The teen had been trying to avoid thinking about it since then. "Sorrel said she had to look for her sister's kittens. You remember the Siamese boy, the one she named Cecil? He told Sorrel he was going to leave and she accepted it for a while, but she suddenly decided she needed to look for him." Natsuna paused after her explanation and stood to make food. As she worked, she continued. "I hope she comes back, or at least visits. I'm sure she's okay, but it's still sad."

Silence followed for a while as she worked. Finally, she spoke again, softly. "I'm glad you're here, Matt, and how much of a help you are."

Kotoko purred as she watched the rise and fall of the she-cat's large stomach. It should have been obvious how far along she was, but Kotoko didn't pay much attention to kittings. After all, she didn't plan on it herself. "I think they are lovely names. Rainbows are a sign of clear skies after a storm, hope, or equality." Kotoko tried to reassure the she-cat that her name was perfectly fine. Kotoko knew a lot about Twoleg things, having lived with Natsuna her whole life. Rainbows and other happy things were definitely things her owner talked about often.

Kotoko quickly thought of another question. "Are you happy that you are expecting kits?" A pause, before she continued, "I guess you would be. I've never really felt the need to have kits."
