((OOC: Sorry, been gone all day; not trying to snub you!)) Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip prepare for the next day of the visit, hoping to show the delegation a bit of Nassau before the days political wrangling begin. A formal breakfast with members of Commonwealth charities, as well as the British ambassador to Nassau, has been arranged for the delegations as a launching-off point. |

Queen Elizabeth: Sophie, I do hope you and Alois slept well. As I understand it, we have a very full day ahead of us. The protocol office told us you were interested in seeing the historical sites in Nassau? The National Museum has a display of artifacts from the original settlement of New Providence you might find interesting. Prime Minister Landry pulls aside Secretary Jacobs while the Royal couples converse. Arthur Landry: Secretary Jacobs, I've had a few questions from my Cabinet in discussing the proposed Commonwealth. Specifically my finance minister wanted a couple things clarified before we began any kind of drafting. How would expenses of the organization be dealt with, and did you envision it having any kind of taxation or customs regulation powers? |

Queen Sophie: We did have a bit of trouble sleeping, as it is much warmer here then back home but we had sweet dreams none the less. How did you sleep your Majesty? Yes, we had hoped to see some historical sites. I hold a bachelor's degree in World History from the University of Oxford you know. Secretary Jacobs: The initial plan for the funding is a two way street. First we submit a request to the United Nations and ask for a grant from the UN Fund for International Partnerships. Then each member-state must submit a set amount of money to help get the Commonwealth going. After that the Commonwealth and work out it's funding as a whole. I did not see it having any taxation but my government did want to make it easier for citizens to travel between member-states. |

Queen Elizabeth: One never had the opportunity to attend university, something I've always regretted. But I'd like to think my life has been a degree in and of itself. The museum isn't as impressive as those in London, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in spirit and character. I'm told they've recreated the first Government House on site. Arthur Landry: I think those terms are most amenable; my Finance Minister was most concerned about a third layer of direct taxation being instituted. Given our economy is so reliant on tourism, it could have made things quite difficult for our industries. In terms of ease of travel, I think that is the best way to sell the idea. With travel comes trade, and with trade comes eternal friendship. We have a mutual heritage, after all. |

Queen Sophie: But while you did not attend university you where a member of the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service in the Second World War, which must have enriched your life quite a bit. I hope so, the museums in London are quite grand, but are dull and lack luster. I do tend to get bored in them, so stiff and formal. Secretary Jacobs: That is the point of the Commonwealth, of the Stuart Doctrine. To unite the Stuart realms in eternal friendship. Now come, let us eat before we work any further. |
