I always thought D'Lo did a pretty smooth Powerbomb. But if anyone remembers Summerslam '98, he fought Val Venis & he botched the Powerbomb then too. Uber sick. But then he recovered & gave Val Venis another one; nice & smooth.

Ohh, I have that one on video. Not sure if I remember the botched powerbomb though, I'll have to fish the video out. All I remember is the referee costing Val the victory

Ah well, to stay on topic, Lita should be champ. Cause she rules. And I don't follow WWE, but she should still be champ

Just an update on the injuries.

Reports are saying that Eugene has a dislocated kneecap and is seeing the doctors today. Lita has a sprained knee. Best case scenerio has Lita back in three-weeks. I hope that's all she's out because I honestly can't handle seeing her out of the ring again after a year for the neck injury and seven months with a stupid pregnancy angle.

Sprained knee, 3-4 weeks tops...from my experience anyways. As for Eugene, this is why I don't read stupid websites. Idiot internet, damn it, damn it all to hell!!

Yep. There's an article on Lita up at wwe.com and she says that best case scenerio she'll be back in three weeks. So for three weeks we'll get to watch Trish talk about Lita trying to kill herself to hang onto the title. Maybe we'll get lucky and gets to see a backstage face-off with Lita. Anything to actually see her on RAW will boost the ratings. *shifty eyes* What?!

Actually, from what I'm aware of.. both Lita and Eugene were seen in wheelchairs after the PPV headed for the airport. Both injuries were legit as far as I know.. Eugene with a dislocated knee cap and Lita with a strained knee.

You could Lita's injury was legit when Trish started stomping on Lita's right knee in the corner. For those who don't know, its a written rule in wrestling to work on the left limbs.. no idea why..

As for Droz, I thought D'lo botched a body slam? Everything I read on the botch mentioned a body slam..

The PPV wasnt all that bad, considering Batista was a monster throughout the whole Elimination Chamber. Right until his testies went up into his throat from Orton. In NY where I live the next house show is Batista V. Randy Orton V. Triple H (Non-Title) Hopefully this is practice for a Wrestlemania match when dave finally gets the push he deserves. Either that or he goes to Smackdown and goes straight to the top.

I can't see HHH/Batista headlining Wrestlemania. And I don't want to see HHH/Orton again. Oh well, it's why I watch Smackdown. Plus I don't have cable.

Precautionary measures, undoubtedly. Although with a dislocated knee cap, Eugene probably needed the chair more. Everywhere I've read, including WWE.com as Lita Maivia said, she just strained a ligament and won't require surgery...although on RAW JR said it was a torn ACL requiring surgery and will put Lita out for several months. Who knows.

Match 1: World Tag Team Championship Match
Christian & Tyson Tomko vs. Eugene & William Regal©

Eugene did a dropkick on Tomko, landed on the side of his knee and couldn't stand after that. Christian and Tomko freaked out and started beating on Regal. Eugene rolled up Tomko from behind, really badly due to the injury and got the three.

Winners and still Tag Champs: Eugene & Regal

Match 2: WWE Women's Championship Match
Trish Stratus vs. Lita©

About three moves in, Lita attempts a Lou Thesz Press off the apron and tears her ACL. Trish beats on Lita's uninjured knee for a bit before just beating on the injured leg. Lita tries to stand but falls. She goes the DDT and Trish counters into the Chick Kick for the win.

Winner and new Women's Champ: Trish Stratus

Match 3: WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Shelton Benjamin© vs. Maven

Maven kept going to the ropes everytime Shelton came near him. Eventually Maven left the ring as the fans started chanting "Faggot" in Spanish at him. Maven talked on the microphone for about 10 minutes (felt that long) telling the fans he can't understand them. He was almost counted out but got in the ring. T-Bone Suplex for the 1-2-3. Literally, as soon as Maven got in the ring that happened. Maven got mad saying it didn't count and if Shelton wouldn't wrestle him again then we now have two women's champions. Shelton comes back in and beats Maven just as quick.

Winner and still IC Champ: Shelton Benjamin

Match 4: Muhammad Hassan vs. King
This match went on ages. The first five minutes was scoop slams, literally. Eventually Daivari distracts King long enough for Hassan to nail a reverse Rock Bottom almost.

Winner: Muhammad Hassan

Match 5: Gene Snitsky vs. Kane
This went on too long as well. Kane wins with a Tombstone. I didn't really watch much of this match.

Winner: Kane

Match 6: Chicken Fight in Pool (yes they claimed it was a match)
Christy w/ Robert Conway vs. Maria w/ Rosey vs. Candace w/ Hurricane vs. Stacy Keibler w/ Val Venis

Short and stupid. Christy remained on Rosey's shoulders after ripping Maria's top off.

Winner (but is she really a winner?): Christy

Match 7: World Heavyweight Championship (Elimination Chamber)
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Batista

Jericho and Benoit start the match. Triple H is the first one out, followed by Edge, then Orton, and lastly Batista. I don't believe anyone was pinned until after Batista got out. Edge inadvertantly spears HBK, getting a Sweet Chin Music in return. Jericho pins Edge. I BELIEVE Jericho goes next, pinned by Batista. Next would be Benoit, pinned by Batista. Batista goes next, getting pinned by Randy Orton. Last but not least, Orton is pinned after an illegal clothesline on an eliminated Batista to give Triple H his tenth title reign.

Winner and new (still?) World Champ: Triple H

Sorry some matches have less details. After the first three, I just lost interest in the whole show.

No offense intended, but didn't Lita injure herself? And didn't she hurt her neck on her own before? It sounds like Lita's greatest threat to her career is either herself or the WWE trainers...

And while Trish obviously gets a lot of heat because of her cup size, I'm willing to argue that she's actually not a bad wrestler at all and from what I've heard gets respect in the biz for pulling her own weight. I read on some wrestling site awhile back some guy guy writing that if Trish was a man, she would have won the title several times over.

Not that I particularly care about women's wrestling unless it's a decent Joshi match...

I'll agree that Trish is a decent wrestler, but I'm honestly tired of listening to her speak. It's bad enough WWE cripples the gimmicks of Divas with potential like Victoria, and burys sweet little Molly, with all her talent, and fires off (?) Ivory, who's better than every woman on that roster put together (with the exception of Molly) but we're also forced to watch week in week out Trish Stratus acting and sounding like the girls I made cry in high school.

I'm tired of her. I could do with a change. It'd be nice if the change were Lita, but hell, Christy Hemme's frightening bounciness with a belt would be better than another several months of Stratusfaction.

Yeah, anything but another Trish title reign for a woman who is supposedly "a better champion".

When I heard JR say Lita would be out for months my heart dropped. I waited so long for her to come back from the neck injury and then she finally does and got little to no push and was screwed out of Wrestle Mania. Then, she started to appear on TV more and we had to sit through the stupid pregnancy angle for the summer. Then finally she loses the baby and begins to wrestle again and won the title again after four years and made me excited to see her again. Then this injury comes along and screws it up again. How ironic that she and Matt are both out with knee injuries. :(

I really hope that she does take only 3 weeks so she can be ready for mania this year. *crosses fingers*

Yes, Lita tipped herself upside down and broke her own neck. That makes so much sense. Lita was performing the hurracanrana on a stunt double on Dark Angle and the stunt double dropped her.

Trish isn't the only women that has received respect from the guys. Lita has also been given plenty of respect from the business. Chris Benoit even agreed to put her over by taking the hurracanrana in a mixed tag with her. And Chris Benoit is someone that doesn't put himself out to put over someone who can't carry their own weight. And if I'm correct, Trish's praise was said that she's the most versatile diva on the roster. People were impressed that she could run a promo and work a decent match. And I also heard that she throws extremely stiff kicks in the ring but people don't complain much because she takes insane bumps to put them over in return. I have heard nothing about her being seen as up there with the guys and I was a Trish fan for YEARS. Literally. I liked Trish from day one and didn't start disliking her until not long before Lita's return from neck surgery.

EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention. Wight, Ivory didn't get fired but she might as well have as her contract has been re-worked as an announcer contract. She's currently taking Independent bookings as that's allowed in announcer contracts.

That mean's she'll be fored within a few weeks. See: Raven, D'Lo.

I actrually watched two matches worth of it. I was shocked aswell. Eugene was unlucky, and his gimmick is actually quite funny. Probably the second time I've seen him.

Lita fucked up, basically. I actually thought the injury was a work, when watching the match. Give credit to both her and Trish I suppose. She didnt seem completely hampered by it, certainly not as much as Eugene. After reading this feedback it seems I was wrong though, but props to them both, it had me fooled for awhile.

Well, thats probably what Lita said. Unless the stunt double actually admitted it, I'd be very sceptical.

Forgive me for speaking my mind but I can't but laugh at this whole situation...

But before you start flaming me keep in mind that I'm not laughing at two potential injuries as, whoever it is, injuries aren't something to be laughed at... unless it's HHHitler, but you know...

Anyway, the only question that I have to ask the people who actually bought this PPV and are long-time WWF/WWE fans is has this been the biggest sack of crap you've seen from the company or do you still believe that the early 90s down period was worse than this?

Just curious...

Eh, whilst I can't lay claim to being a life-long fan.. its only taken 5 years of my life so far.. I'd say this down period isn't as bad. But, I say that without having seen the early 90s.

I'm just going on opinion as the fans back then were fed gimmicks like Minotaur, Berzerker, Barbarian, Salvatore Sincere, Aldo Montoya and so on. I think that really, the worst gimmick WWE have at the moment is John Cena.. it works when he's a heel, but blows in super-face mode, especially with the custom belt crap..

But granted, its rough at the moment.. I enjoy watching it, just that the matches aren't up to the standard they were five years ago.

Oh and Toan, man.. why you complaining? We didn't have to buy NYR

I haven't heard anything from the stunt double at all on this situation but Jessica Alba (the woman who was doubled) said the stunt double's knees buckled and she just fell while holding Lita.

Y'know, sometimes accidents just happen. If you guys wanna argue whether Lita or Trish or anyone's a danger to the federation, I doubt it will produce any productive results and just be a screaming contest.

That's exactly how an injury comes about, Wight. An accident. No one hurts themselves on purpose. That stunt double didn't have it out for Lita, she probably didn't even know who Lita was. Trish and Lita don't have it out for one another. In fact, Lita and Trish are reportedly very good friends backstage. I read that after the ACL tear, Trish sat with Lita backstage to watch the rest of the show.

I'm complaining because believe it or not I actually liked WWF/WWE a while back...

Then their commentary and wrestling started insulting my intelligence (like when Coach and that other guy on Metal used to go on about "how great it would be if Hogan and Brock Lesnar hooked up" or whatever.

I respect what Hogan has done for the wrestling business but that was then, this is now... in this day and age he's not worth a crap anymore because he's done that whole Hulk Up when taking a beated, punches, big boot and leg drop rountine ever since his first stint in the WWF during 1982.

Then came the de-pushing of Chris Jericho and improper usage of Kurt Angle (like turning him heel when he barely had a face run)

I could go on but I'm sure you've got better things to do that listen to someone who now watches RoH, CZW, IWA-Mid South, Big Japan, NOAH and various other independant promotions without getting as stressed over who wins and what's going on storyline-wise.

Maybe Lita's neck injury wasn't her fault; going off the story I read, it was. I don't think Lita is a danger to anyone else in the industry, and I'm not entirely blaming her for her injuries. It's very possible the WWE trainers don't know what they're doing, especially since they allowed two stars to hurt themselves in a PPV. No one likes watching matches where wrestlers get hurt. Besides, Lita and Trish can go stand in a field for all I care. Molly is the only exciting wrestler of the bunch who doesn't get pushed because she won't take off her clothes and make revealing poses. Victoria has cool entrance music, too.

Anyway, I watch WWE Raw these days, but mostly because I just like watching wrestling. I don't like the storylines I've seen on either Raw or Smackdown!, and I rarely think the right guys on the roster are getting the push they deserve. Then again, there's still a lot of talent there and the matches aren't all awful -- at least to the point where the show is unwatchable.

I've watched some NWA:TNA matches, and they're okay. Low-budget, obviously, but they've got some really skilled cruiserweights. I kinda fall asleep watching the heavyweight stuff. Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Jeff Jarrett, DDP.... Yawn! Gimme Styles, Daniels, Amazing Red, Kid Kash, Shark Boy...

I like puroresu. Really well-done matches, most of the time. Puroresu wrestlers are just really good at their techniques and just seem more professional. I don't see a B.S. move like The People's Elbow really working well over there, you know? More "sports" and less crappy "entertainment."
