Royal Rumble Predictions; Well, no-one else has done them

World Championship Match
Triple H vs. Randy Orton.
Prediction: Triple H
Who I want to win: Triple H

For this one I see...... Something involving Batista/Triple H, but in the end I see Triple H clinging on to the title, perhaps by DQ, or Orton wins, but the decision is overturned.

WWE Championship Match
John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Kurt Angle vs. Big Show
Prediction: JBL
Who I want to win: Not sure. I would have said Angle, but at his present state, is there any point in him being champion? He's had little more than 30 second matches since early December, so I dunno. If Show wins he'll lose it by No Way Out, so by the process of elimination, I'm gonna go for JBL to retain.

Casket Match
Undertaker vs. Jon Heidenreich
Prediction: Heidenreich
Who I want to see win: Them both to get injured and have to leave wrestling forever. Taker is so stale right now it's not even funny. He's a caricature(sp?) of what he once was, and watching Smackdown this last week, I was actually EMBARRASSED when the Heidenreich promo (Lots of grunting and stuttering) and the Undertaker segment (Kinda cool, but Undertaker's eyeliner made it ridiculous. Apparently when you die, you become a transvestite.) But, I see Heidenreich winning, possibly with help from Snitsky to create that god-awful tag match at 'Mania, but either way, this fued is unfortunately probably gonna continue for another few months.

Shawn Michaels vs. Edge.
Prediction: Hard to say..... Edge
Who I want to win: Edge

Now THIS is something to get excited about! I thought this was a dead-cert Mania match, so why it's being shown on the Rumble, I'm not sure. Either way, I'm looking forward to it, as this fued has been a good one so far. No complicated twists, no over-the-top storyline ideas (My brother suggested HBK announcing he is Edge's father......If this were on Smackdown, you know it'd happen), just a good fued built around WRESTLING. Not often we get to see that recently, and it's refreshing. I see Edge getting the win here, but possibly a DQ ending?? Leading the fued to continue into 'Mania, hopefully.

The Royal Rumble 2005
Prediction: Batista
Who I want to win: Edge

Now THIS is the reason everyone likes the Rumble. I'm gonna try and do this on a wrestler based system.

Raw:
- Edge-I'd love for him to win, but I see HBK eliminating him, continuing the fued.
- Shelton Benjamin-As IC champ, should get a decent showing.
- Christian.-Go Christian!! WIN! WIN! What? I can dream, can't I?
- Kane.-Kane's best time of year. I see him and Snitsky eliminating each other.
- Chris Jericho.-Another person I'd LOVE to see win. But with Benoit winning last year, WWE can't possibly be that nice. Can they?
- Shawn Michaels.-I see him eliminating Edge, then possibly eliminating himself to continue the fight
- Chris Benoit.- After last years win, he'll either get eliminated by a potential opponent for Mania, or get into the final four.
- Gene Snitsky.- Ol' Goat Face'll probably be eliminated by Kane, or vice versa.
- Simon Dean.- Go Simon! The first real showing of Dean here. He'll be quickly eliminated I think.
- The Hurricane.-I like The Hurricane in Rumbles. Always does something funny, and the Rumble match always benifits from a bit of humour.
- Jonathan Coachman.- Why is he here? Surely there are people on Raw more deserving of this place? To be flung out immediately.
- Viscera.-Would you fire Chuck Palumbo, A-Train, Gail Kim, Nidia, and Johnny Stamboli JUST so you could hire this sack of shit? He'll do well in the Rumble, unfortunately, just because the useless bastard no-sells everything. I'd rather have Funaki or ANYONE take his place. I'd rather have King go in than him. Fire the useless shit!
- Batista.- What is there to say? The predictable choice of winner. But these weeks leading up to the Rumble have been really unpredictable, so who's to say?? If he doesn't win, I see Flair being the one to eliminate him.
- Muhammad Hassan- Me like Hassan. Unfortunately I don't fancy his chances here. He'll be in for about 10minutes, then eliminated, probably by Jericho.
- Ric Flair-Some interplay between him and Batista, and some comedy from Flair. He's got no chance at winning, but he'll improve the match just by being there.

Smackdown:
- Daniel Puder.- We could see a Maven-like elimination of a big name by Puder, just to help get him over.
- Booker T.- He'll do a spinarooni then get eliminated. It happens every year.
- Charlie Haas.- Go Charlie! A quick elimination unfortunately for the man who should be US champ.
- Luther Reigns. I'm predicting Reigns eliminates Jindrak, or vice versa, just so JR can go on about how it's everyone for himself in the Rumble.
- Mark Jindrak.- See above.
- Orlando Jordan. I'm liking Orlando more and more now he's had a personality transplant thanks to JBL. He'll do OK I think. US Champ by the end of the year.
- Scotty 2 Hotty.- He'll dance, he'll moonwalk, he'll be flung over the top rope by Kane.
- John Cena.- If Batista doesn't win it, it'll be *sigh*Cena*sigh* If not, he'll be in the Final Four at least.
- Rey Mysterio.- He'll eliminate Eddie, continuing the "Eddie cant beat Rey" storyline, which I'm liking a lot. Eddie vs Rey at Mania sounds good to me.
- Eddie Guerrero.- After Rey eliminates him, he'll come back in and lie, cheat and steal to eliminate Rey, possibly with Mysterio unaware what happened.
- Kenzo Suzuki.- Hmm.... He'll last awhile, but will be one of those wrestlers who get thrown out when a big man arrives and "Cleans House".
Hardcore Holly.- Don't make me laugh. See above.
- 3 spots left for the Smackdown roster.

3 Spots left?? OK, so who from Smackdown isn't already in the Rumble:

Rene Dupree- Why leave him out? He's over enough to deserve a place.
Chavo- Ditto.
Funaki- Just to see him get thrown out.
The Dudley Boyz

OR my old favourite, the Surprise Entrant. I don't like the qualifiers, as it takes the randomness of the Royal Rumble away. I like not knowing AT ALL who's going to be in. WHY isn't Rhyno in the rumble? I want to see him come in and gore a few people. Really Smackdown could have done with 10 spots, and Raw with 20 to fill.

Wow, long predictions. What's everyone else think?

World Championship Match
Triple H vs. Randy Orton
Prediction: Triple H
Who I want to win: Randy Orton. I just hope Stacy accompanies him to the ring. I think they'd make an awesome pair. Orton's not so smooth on the mic. Stacy would help him out a lot there, and she doesn't get enough airtime. And considering she does more than the HoSearch girls and gets less airtime then them... well, she's earned some airtime if they have.

WWE Championship Match
John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Kurt Angle vs. Big Show
Prediction: JBL
Who I want to win: Don't really care. I guess JBL. He's not too bad.

Casket Match
Undertaker vs. Jon Heidenreich
Prediction: Heidenreich
Who I want to see win: I agree with Hutch. I just don't like these two. And after that entirely boring match at Survivor Series, I'm shocked they're having another.

Shawn Michaels vs. Edge
Prediction: HBK
Who I want to win: HBK

The Royal Rumble 2005
Prediction: Batista
Who I want to win: Batista

I don't have any thoughts on the Rumble as I couldn't really care less at this point, but I had to say that some of your analysis on how people would do in the Rumble was freaking hilarious.

World Championship Match
Triple H vs. Randy Orton
Prediction:
Triple H
Who I want to win: Randy Orton. I'm not too sure about him teaming up with Stacy at this point but it might work. When I saw them together at that house show he kept saying they were dating. Don't know if it was true or not butit might have been a little hint at this story line.

WWE Championship Match
John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Kurt Angle vs. Big Show
Prediction:
JBL
Who I want to win: Kurt Angle

Casket Match
Undertaker vs. Jon Heidenreich
Prediction:
Heidenreich
Who I want to see win: Undertaker and an end to this weak story line. I haven't seen Smackdown since before the holidays but even the rebound makes it look rather boring.

Shawn Michaels vs. Edge
Prediction:
Don't know, should be good.
Who I want to win: HBK

The Royal Rumble 2005
Prediction:
Batista
Who I want to win: Edge, Jericho or Batista

I havent watched WWE for at least 6 months but i'm still gonna predict just looking at the lineup, and going on things i've heard.

World Championship Match
Triple H vs. Randy Orton.
Prediction: Haitch, he always wins.

WWE Championship Match
John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Kurt Angle vs. Big Show
Prediction: JBL or Angle - Angle's pretty good at carrying the Big Show to a good match, the triple threat actions with Lesnar were decent, but JBL's no Lesnar. JBL will probably win but perhaps Angle if they want to shock the smarks.

Casket Match
Undertaker vs. Jon Heidenreich
Prediction: No-one. I can't remember a good Casket match that didn't feature Shawn Michaels. 'Taker will win the match, but everyone who watches will lose at least a fraction of their sanity.

Shawn Michaels vs. Edge.
Prediction: Edge. HBK will do the ole putting the younger star over.. even if he does pull off the win you know he'll make Edge look like gold, and Edge will work his ass off.

The Royal Rumble 2005
Prediction: Coach. Nah, Batista. I don't know why the Smackdown guys bother.

Thinking about it, I've got a few ideas how the Rumble'll play out, with possible winners/losers etc.

1: Batista wins. Triple H tries to persuade Batista to go to Smackdown! to challenge for the WWE title, but Batista refuses, possibly causing Triple H to snap at Batista, causing severe tension. Batista will continue his impressive showing on Raw, with Triple H becoming more and more paranoid the more the month goes on, leading for Triple H to snap around No Way Out time, kicking Batista out of Evolution. I'm looking forward to the role of Ric Flair in this storyline. Will he keep loyal to Triple H? Or (depends how much WWE are willing to acknowledge the past) stick to his previous pre-Evolution job of managing Batista. I'm for-seeing Ric Flair FINALLY turning on Triple H at Wrestlemania and helping Batista win the title, for that "FUCK YES!" moment.

2: Batista is eliminated by Ric Flair. I don't know why, I just think it could happen. It's motivation for Batista turning face and leaving Evolution, as opposed to Batista winning the Rumble and turning "face-by-default". In this scenario, I suppose John Cena would win the Rumble, taking on JBL at Mania....... OR........

3: For Batista, this is the same storyline as above. But for everyone else, it's pretty different. Kurt Angle wins the Triple Threat, with JBL/Show taking each other out of the match, leading to their match at No Way Out. The Rumble: It comes down to Shawn Michaels and Edge, with Michaels getting the win. I'm seeing Edge saying "I was screwed" followed by Jericho coming out with a "Shut the hell up", setting up Edge vs Chris Jericho for Wrestlemania. But Shawn Michaels winning the Rumble?? But, instead of challenging for the title on Raw, he chooses to go for Kurt Angle's newly won championship at Wrestlemania, setting up one of the few dream matches WWE still have while they can still do it, sure to be a great main event. Batista wins a Rumble on Raw for the Number1 Contendership, leading pretty much into the championship storyline in scenario 1.

Damn WWE, offer me a job. lol. These are all based on rumours of various matches that are supposedly "planned" for Wrestlemania. Apart from Jericho/Edge, which is lifted directly from my TEW game. So, whats everyone think?

I like the idea of Kurt versus Michaels for the WWE title... Michaels on SD... a reason for me to get sky sports.

Rumors around the net are putting Lesnar in the #30 spot as a suprise to the internet fans who have continued to say that McMahon is shunning all interest in Brock.

I'll be watching the Rumble tonight and I'm eager to see some of the out comes.

I'm trying REALLY hard not to put any credit what-so-ever to the Lesnar rumours, just because I don't want to be disappointed. I'm trying not to anticipate it. But I would fucking mark out.

If it was Lesnar, I'd have announced it for the extra buyrate. His name could draw just being in there.

RR last year was probably the last PPV I'll order cos I was disappointed. The Rumble finish was good, Triple H/Michaels I liked, but the rest was crap. Even Eddie/Chavo.

Just thought I'd say that.

This years RR was 'meh' had some good comical spots. Such as Daniel Puder getting punked out by Benoit, Eddie, & Hardcore Holly. Also Mohamed Hassan getting the beat down of a life time by members of both Smackdown and RAW. I also enjoyed the continued interaction between the members of both rosters.

Sweet ass matches, IMO. Orton looked drugged or something and my friend kept saying he was drugged. It was obvious that HHH would win. The Big Show and JBL slamming through the barrier was hilarious. So was Eddie taking Flair's wallet and his number. The casket match was ok, It was a nice suprise to see Kane in the casket and punk Snitsky. It looks like we're headed for an HBK/Angle match at Mania which kicks ass.

I ordered this PPV... well, I'm paying a third of it. I only really enjoyed the Royal Rumble match. I was making dinner so I was in and out of the room for the first couple of matches, not that I minded it I actually prefered a reason to leave the room.

Edge vs. HBK bored me before it even started. I just cannot get behind the character of Edge. I literally want to go to sleep whenever he talks or wrestles. And that's even worse than Chris Benoit ever bored me. And hey, I actually love Benoit now. He's awesome.

Taker vs. Heidenreich never should've even happened. Like I said above, after Survivor Series I would've axed this ASAP. But it looks like we're gonna see Taker & Kane vs. Heidenreich & Snitsky at WrestleMania. Another win to Taker's undefeated WM record.

The WWE Championship Triple Threat was... alright. I've always liked Kurt Angle even though he's now just a shadow of his former self. I knew JBL was gonna retain before it even started. I just can't see the strap going on Big Show again and Kurt Angle really doesn't need it. The barricade spot was kind of cool but I've noticed that they do a lot stuff like that on the Smackdown side. I dunno why they feel they need it. Shame Angle had to do the job to JBL instead of Show having to job.

The World Title match was probably the only other match I'd sit through again, not counting the Royal Rumble itself. I am so glad they banned Evolution from ringside. That run-in schtick is getting beyond old. I loved the first counter to the RKO, where HHH threw Orton from the ring. That was sweet. And Orton really looked messed up after that missed DDT. His head just kind of wobbled as he smacked the mat. Then Hebner did the count and stopped when he saw the look in Orton's eyes. That was crazed. Glad to see he was able to finish the match though. Hopefully there's nothing serious wrong.

The Royal Rumble was worth my $11. I loved that Eddie and Benoit were the first two in the ring. That's a duo I can really get behind. I never liked the Benoit/Angle stuff but Benoit/Eddie I mark out for. The Puder stuff was fun until Holly came out. This guy serious has major issues. I know no one likes him but he shouldn't take it out on other people. It's not their fault he's not over. I was really hoping to see Shelton last closer to the end. He's one of my favorite guys currently on the roster. I really loved the Shelton/Charlie interactions. That was a fun spot. I've always been a huge fan of the Coach. He's one the most entertaining people they even have anymore. Him clocking Benoit then running into the corner was hillarious! And of course Ric Flair trying to throw out Batista but not even being able to move him was only intensified by Flair's comedic facial expressions. He rules.

When both Batista and Cena fell out I thought it was an accident, so I was shocked. Then I thought, "This crap happens in EVERY battle royal!" Then Vince came out and hurt his knee trying to get into the ring. Poor guy. Although WWE is currently having trouble with injured knees lately. Nice to see them just start the match back up and give Batista the win. Really hoping he captures the title at WrestleMania but unfortunately I think HHH will find a way to defuse him before they get to Mania.

On a side-note: That Eugene WrestleMania commerical was one the funniest thing I've ever seen. The look on his face after the clocked that woman was priceless! And then Regal telling Eugene to "Run!" Lol. That was great.

Have you not heard the pops he gets? I was going to make a post about him. He was well over when I saw Smackdown in Manchester (before the weapon use). He's fun to watch because he's so stiff. I like him...in a manly wrestling sense.

LOL, and then he just sat there when Fink announced the match to re-start. It took away his autorative walk when that happened.

Same here but it was great when he was tossed out right after he eliminated Puder. Serves him right. The guy needs to retire.

Alright i had low expections going into this show, afterall it IS a WWE PPV and lately they have been....shit more or less. And though most of the booking in the matches and the end of RR i was pleasantly surprised by it. The rumble as others have said was worth the price alone and was the saving grace of the show.

Edge Vs. HBK
I was suspecting HBK going over, since....well...it's HBK. He goes over nearly any one who's name ISN'T Triple H or Kevin Nash. But i was happy to see edge go over HBK, even if it was through cheating and by the way it happened i don't think this is over and will go on till at least around NWO. Overall this feud, more exactly edge, has been great and it is nice to see a WRESTLING based one for once. Not one based on your love turning on you and going with your former friend or a guy's former criminal record or cause some guy killed your made-up baby.

Undertaker Vs. Heidenrich( or however the hell you spell the guy's name )
Knew this would be overbooked crap and have a kane interference of SOME kind, afterall it IS close to WM. Not to mention the gene/heidenrich segment from SurS and then the new one before the match. Man....i truthfully hope these two realize how much of a homosexual vibe they give off in these segments. And before i get bashed for saying that i have no problem if that is the way you swing, though it IS the truth and i know even the blind WWE fans will begin to realize and considering the majority of them hate those type of things( billy and chucky come to mind ) they'll shit over it. Which will result in the writing team thinking " WOW! They are so over as heels! Let's push them! " . Any ways i'm getting off subject, considering what it was and what you had to expect coming into the match i guess it was decent. Though i did find it odd how kane and 'taker actually had NO interaction through the match. If you notice kane takes them out while 'taker is down. Then when 'taker starts to get up kane leaves the ring without a single stare or word or any thing between them. Hopefully we'll see them not really get along but put personal issues aside to take care of heidenrich and gene and not just have them act as if WMXX and several other feuds they've had never happened.

JBL Vs. Kurt Vs. Show
Well...it was certainly better then i expected, but besides what people said show has been improving and can wrestle rather well compared to othe " hosses " . And JBL was....JBL..yeah, also as others have said kurt at this moment is hardly what he once was. Not to mention on the mic, it is as if when injured and as the GM all his charisma was drained of him...Guess we'll maybe see cena or some one along those lines get the title off JBL at WM21. As i honestly can't see the trainwreck of a match the cage match that show and him are going to have the place where he drops it. More so when so close to WM21 where it would have more impact dropping it there then NWO.

Triple H Vs. Randy Orton
Ugh....Sadly this one was not one that was even slightly higher then what i expected, at least orton didn't win so we could see floppity floppy flop reign #2 from him....

Royal Rumble '05
The segments leading up to it through the night showed a bit of foreshadowening and to possible future matches or matches at WM21( Christian and Cena, Eddie and Evo/Flair. And OF COURSE.....nunizo and kurt <_< ). I actually cringed and worried at first when i saw eddie coming out first, i just prayed jindrak or gene or some one to that degree didn't come out next leading to a very bad start to it or resulting in them squashing eddie and eliminating him right away. But then benoit came out, and then purder. It looked like things were gonna go rather well till...holly had to show his balding head and stiff the fuck out of purder and get no reaction whatsoever. Overall the rumble served what it needed to do, setting up the angle/HBK match further, london and hurricane doing the " crazy bumps " that happen now a days in each rumble. And of course simon and coach were there as comedy spots. Shame really since nova is so wasted on the character as entertaining as he makes it....Ah well, the guys i wanted to see going into this win it were.

RAW: Jericho, Edge, Christian, Hurricane.
SD!: Kurt, London, Eddie, Booker.

Course most of those choices it would be a cold day in hell they won the RR so yeah. Any ways as i've stated before this in my opinion made the PPV worth the price and saved it from being another lackluster PPV. It was rather interesting seeing mysterio making it to the final four, more so since he was one of the earlier entries. Though one thing that caught my eye the most was cena and batista eliminating edge. If you take into account the christian/cena segment and if that does result in a interbrand matchi could see edge running in and screwing cena. Considering recently edge and christian though not really liking each other much have formed a common alliance/bond over feeling " screwed over " . As for the finish i laughed my ass off when i saw vince injure his knee, i mean that was even worse then NASH. At least kevin nash got into the ring and took a few steps before he jacked up his knee. And in a moment of excitement/insanity i jumped out of my seat and shouted at the television " THAT'S FOR THE ORTON PUSH BITCH! " . But yeah the finish itself was okay besides the fact of what others have stated we saw this finish in nearly EVERY BR ever since it was first used in the RR '94. I mean we saw the same finish( double elimination ) in a BR a few months ago( three to be exact ) with benoit and edge.

Any who i'd give the RR three and a half shining wizards out of five. Granted it wasn't quite as good overall as last year's it was still quite enjoyable.

Yeah, I watched it at a bar and the whole bar was laughing instead of thinking, "Man these guys are heels." All of the grunting and heavy breathing was worse, especially when Snitsky told Heidenrich something to the effect of, "Well, I like you."
