Thought since the FIW awards are coming up soon wit'd be interesting to see what some real-world wrestling awards would turn up. I haven't kept up with what's been going on in the wrestling world for the past year, so I'm more looking for what other people think here.

Superstar of they Year: Eddie Guerrero. At the beginning of the year he was on fire. It's a shame he fell so far. But even though he doesn't have the WWE Title, he's still the most entertaining thing on Smackdown. And he's probably the best in-ring worker that show has.

Heel of the Year: Batista. Seriously, I remember when people used to hate this guy. People used to look at me stupid when I said I liked him. And he's managed to win everyone over. I can't remember seeing someone do something like this since the Rock's heel turn made him a huge star.

Face of the Year: Lita. Yeah, I know most people are gonna pick guys for every category but I think Lita deserves this one. She's been through more than any other faces. And she's been a face for so long and still has the fans on her side. Even her acting (or lack of) can't drive away her fans.

Diva of the Year: Lita, again. Like I said above. Most people thought she was over after the pregnancy angle. But her first match back, Survivor Series, she had the crowd chanting her name before she left. She's the only diva who's been able to maintain popularity all through her career.

Finisher of the Year: Finishers don't really stick out for me anymore. I guess the RKO. It's got a nice build-up and the fans go nuts for it. That'll do.

Tag-Team of the Year: Does WWE even have Tag Teams anymore? Wow, I don't think they do. Therefore I don't pick anyone.

Storyline of the Year: As much as I thought I hated the Lita/Kane/Snitsky storyline, looking back... I change my mind. Maybe if the pregnancy part didn't run so long. But the addition to Snitsky was a nice touch. He's an interesting character. And the actual character this storyline gave Lita was awesome. A not so good storyline that was saved by a huge pay-off in the end.

Feud of the Year: Lita vs. Trish Stratus. I honestly love this feud. I like Trish Stratus, but I love to hate her. And when she's heel she makes that so much fun. I knew when she started prodding Lita on a weekly basis that this wasn't just a one-off segment. It ended up building into the best women's feud ever. Not just hardcore violence like Trish vs. Victoria. This feud had meaning and matches that meant something. The first women's feud that I don't look at as just a women's feud.

Promo of the Year: Lita punks out Kane on the Highlight Reel (July 12, 2004). I'll be the first to admit Lita's mic work needs work. But this was an exceptionally good promo that added a lot of depth to her character. I even remember reading at Dave Meltzer's site something about "Where did that shockingly great Lita promo come from?" That was a flawless promo from Lita. A rariety from her.

Match of the Year: Lita vs. Trish Stratus - December 6, 2004. Best women's match I've ever seen. It wasn't played out as a women's match. Just a main-event match on RAW. And Lita getting the title back after four years was a nice capper to the year.

Wrestling Promotion of the Year: WWE. Yeah. You're all picking TNA and RoH. But WWE's still the biggest and most profitable promotion. They may not be the most entertaining all the time but I've always found something to enjoy about it.

Lita's used this finisher a couple times. Choked Molly out with it once, I remember.

Superstar of they Year: John "Bradshaw" Layfield. May not be a popular choice, but think about it. In one year he's risen from relative obscurity as one half of a not very over tag team, to become the WWE Champion you love to hate. He's been WWE Champ since around June, and has been the stand out on Smackdown. The pressure of having such a prestigious belt around his waist has forced him to put on some pretty good matches, while not as good as some of the stuff on Smackdown (Come on, it's still Bradshaw), he's been a bright spot all year round. He's consistenly funny, and delivers shockingly good promos for a guy whose previous promo work involves sitting around a table while his partner says "Damn". He's the longest reigning champion of the last few years, and the top heel on Smackdown. A MASSIVE turn around, and a truly breakout star. Honourable mentions to Randy Orton, Chris Benoit and Batista.

Heel of the Year: Triple H. OK, so maybe not a popular choice. But Triple H has been FANTASTIC this year, especially in the last few months. It was so hard not to pick Edge for this, but remember how you felt when Triple H beat Randy Orton for the World Title? I do, I couldn't sleep so stayed up and watched it happen. I remember punching the chair and shouting "Bastard!", which is the most worked up I've been about wrestling for a LONG time. His promos have been fantastic, as usual. However, it's his recent work with Batista for which I'm nominating him. The bets on Batista that he'll lose, his speech to Batista about selfishness when Batista said he was entering the Rumble, denying Orton his title shot..... He's just been that damn good. Sorry, that was cheesy. Honourable mentions: Edge, JBL, Christian (Just because I'm a Christian mark.)

Face of the Year: Hmm. I'm gonna have to say it's a tie between Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit.

Diva of the Year: Joy Giovanni. Nah, just kidding. Has to be Lita, no-one else even comes CLOSE.

Finisher of the Year: Canadian Destroyer. Everyone's reacting to seeing this move for the first time is exactly the same: "Holy Shit!". How can you argue with that? Honourable mentions: RKO, Edgucator.

Tag-Team of the Year: Is there any to choose from in WWE? The Dudleyz haven't been seen for months, the only real teams are Basham Brothers and La Resistance. I'm gonna go for Triple X.

Storyline of the Year: Batista/Triple H. This is coming along the way a Wrestlemania match SHOULD do. A slow build up, you can FEEL the push behind Batista. One of the best storylines of the last few years, and it hasn't even started properly yet.

Feud of the Year: Hmm. I'm gonna have to say Triple H/Randy Orton. It's been going a long time now, and it hasn't gone stale. I just wish the fued had the kind of build up Batista/HHH is getting.

Promo of the Year: I haven't seen too many promos this year, and can't think of one imparticular, so no vote from me here.

Match of the Year: Tough one! I'm gonna go for Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar at No Way Out.

Wrestling Promotion of the Year: WWE. As much fun as TNA and ROH are to watch every now and then, I just don't enjoy it as much as I do when watching WWE.

Superstar of the Year: Eddie Guerrero. Always entertaining, despite reported out-of-ring problems. His run as WWE Champion was well deserved.

Heel of the Year: Triple H. The most hated man in the ring and out of the ring around right now I would reckon.

Face of the Year: Shawn Michaels (except when in Canada – for Canada, Chris Benoit). Always gets a massive pop, Undertaker falls under that banner.

Diva of the Year: Trinity.

Finisher of the Year: Canadian Destroyer

Tag-Team of the Year: La Résistance. I would have picked AMW if Storm wasn’t a part of it. I hate him.

Storyline of the Year: Lying, cheating and stealing! Foley and Orton wasn’t bad either.

Feud of the Year: Jeff Jarrett v AJ Styles. WWE feuds seemed to come and go very quickly but this one went on for a long time from what I saw where both filled the heel/face roles.

Promo of the Year: Jeff Jarrett – King of the Mountain promo.

Match of the Year: Angle v Guerrero at MW. Royal Rumble match comes close.

Wrestling Promotion of the Year: WWE

Saw this today and it had me thinking....here goes

Superstar of they Year: There's a few votes for Joe, but none for Kenta Kobashi, that's a crime just there. Kobashi gets my vote, he was NOAH's GHC champ all year, and he's only one month shy of making that a 2 year title reign...one thats definitely been more spectacular than Joe's ROH World Title reign. Kobashi even got a decent match out of Mike Awesome, not to mention his blinder with Jun Akiyama at the Dome.

Heel of the Year: Back to the WWE, it has to be JBL...although I think his heat is more X-Pac heat, but he gets it regardless.

Face of the Year: Eddie Guerrero by a long shot.

Diva of the Year: pass

Finisher of the Year: Yes, the Canadian Destroyer wins again. I had to rewind then play back that move about five times the first time I saw it...wow.

Tag-Team of the Year: The WWE has no contenders, ROH might have a few, TNA has AMW and XXX...but KENTA & Marafuji for me....yes I've been watching lots of NOAH.

Storyline of the Year: Haven't really thought about this one, but from the top of my head Orton v Foley and Punk v Joe stand out.

Feud of the Year: ohhh, Foley v Orton. Foley v Steamboat a close 2nd.

Promo of the Year: Last memorable one I saw was ROH's Night of Thunder night 2...Foley and Punk calling out Joe. You had Foley legit marking out for Liger, WWE knocks, and Punk hanging with one of the best in the business...brilliant.

Match of the Year: Joe v Punk 2 from the US, Kobashi vs Akiyama from Japan.

Wrestling Promotion of the Year: See above, ROH for the US, NOAH for Japan.

Superstar of the Year: I agree with Hutch on this one. Now let’s all chant his name. J-B-L J-B-L J-B-L.

Heel of the Year: Kurt Angle

Face of the Year: Eddie Guerrero

Diva of the Year: I abstain from voting… there aren’t enough to choose from.

Finisher of the Year: Canadian Destroyer BAH!… my vote goes to the Pounce, simple and effective makes for a good finisher.

Tag-Team of the Year: Sinister Technologies

Storyline of the Year: Lita, Kane, Matt Hardy, Pregnancy, Snitsky and anyone else that was involved.

Feud of the Year: Randy Orton and Triple H

Promo of the Year: Can’t remember one in particular

Match of the Year: Eddie Guerrero verse Kurt Angle at WMXX

Wrestling Promotion of the Year: WWE

Superstar of the Year: Stateside, it was Samoa Joe of RoH. Had very good title matches against Chris Hero, C.M. Punk and Austin Aries. In Japan, it was definitely Kenta Kobashi. The man has been a huge ace for NOAH, a great GHC Heavyweight champion, and is now set to bring his talent to America.

Heel of the Year: Batista. Incredibly over with the fans and those who watch WWE are just waiting for him to go after Triple H or Orton for the title. With his heat, it should happen eventually (even though this is WWE we're talking about).

Face of the Year: AJ. Styles. The young phenom from TNA has accumulated a huge fan base among TNA fans and has been one of the most stand-out indy wrestlers in recent memory. With his in-ring ability and natural charisma, I can't see him as anything else but face. With a little work, he could be a cruiserweight Rock.

Diva of the Year: Ayako Hamada. Seriously, if we're talking women wrestlers, I can't think of anyone in the States who deserves the honor. I mean, Lita and Trish are good at what they do and don't need to be in a Bra & Panties match to get on TV... But it's still a case of a ounce of image when it should be a pound of performance. If I had to pick an American woman wrestler, I guess it'd be Molly Holly.

Finisher of the Year: Like most of you, I mark out for the Canadian Destroyer. It's just frickin' cool!

Tag Team of the Year: Jado and Gedo! Seriously, of all the tag teams I've seen lately, Eugene & William Regal stand out. Yeah, I know, I may get some crap for it, but no one can deny that they aren't doing very well in WWE. Plus I never actually thought Regal could be funny.

Storyline of the Year: I liked Foley versus Orton. It was nice to see Foley back on TV doing the hardcore stuff again. The Backlash match was very well done. I don't like the Batista/Triple H storyline at all, what with Triple H thinking he's so damned clever... when anyone can pretty much see the writing on the wall.

Feud of the Year: Randy versus Orton. See above. Orton wouldn't be over as he is if it wasn't for Foley.

Promo of the Year: There are good promos in wrestling? CM Punk is apparently good on the mic, but I've never heard him, so I can't say.

Match of the Year: Chris Benoit v Triple H v Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XX. Benoit got what he deserved and Triple H went down like he deserved. Lots of blood too. Great main event.

Wrestling Promotion of the Year: WWE. RAW specifically has the best talent in the American wrestling industry today.
