In these days of the IWC, there is so much negative bullshit towards a variety of different people, ranging from the bookers and the writers through to the talent. But, sometimes, all these things can come together to deliver a truly brilliant experience for the fans and I'm just curious as to what your best experience(s) is/are? List as many as you want, as it'll be fun to see what other people enjoyed. Personally, one of my best experiences was when I became emotionally involved with Mick Foley - trying typing that and not thinking of yourself as being a tad bit homosexual. It was when I had just started watching wrestling in late 1999 and he was on the road to retirement, leading to the matches with Triple H at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out. Due to the fact that I wasn't smartened up that things were pre-determined and such, I was able to get completely involved with the situation that was going on. Foley was my favourite at the time and I got really excited when he transformed into Cactus Jack before my eyes; I had no idea what the alter-ego was all about, but I thought it was brilliant. And when he lost the retirement match, I actually cried. I don't think I could ever get involved like that again, now that I know how the wrestling business works. Sure, I was 14 and just a kid, but I was completely engaged with everything that happened and it'll always stick in my mind. Foley delivered the emotions and Trips delivered the matches; both are amazing at what they do. Also, going to a TNA taping at Universal studios was pretty hot. This was whilst it was still on Fox Sports News, or whatever that channel was called. Considering this was my first trip to America and my first opportunity to see American wrestling in person, I was psyched. Sure, the show sucked and was full of squashes, but I had a heck of a time. I heckled Jeremy Borash and did a bunch of soccer chants that failed to make it onto the show, but it was enjoyable. I think I was the only person to pre-pop for the Canadian Destroyer, rising to my feet when Petey put the headscissor on and screaming, whereas everyone else started screaming after he hit the move. Good times. I might upload the pics from that if I get a chance.. |

I haven't been to a single wrestling event. Pretty sad, eh? The closest "wrestling experience" in person per say would be when I went to the mall for the Hardy Boyz book signing. I remember having to wait forever in the line, but my friend, Matt, was there so it didn't seem so bad. They were really nice and we took photos with them, however, they didn't actually get taken because his Dad's camera was messed up. I just remember kind of being awestruck, not knowing what to say or how to react. And by the time it was over I was regretting not saying more to them. I got into wrestling about the same time as Koop, with the McMahon-Helmsley Era starting up and Mick Foley transforming into Cactus Jack. Everything was so exciting when I first became a fan, believing just about anything that happened before my eyes. The Hardy Boyz were easily my favorites at the time because they were babyfaces, highfliers, and hometown boys. Eventually I got into the independents and some Japanese wrestling through Ash and a guy named Jay. Now I primarily watch Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, CHIKARA (a promotion Ash showed to me), and IWA: Midsouth Wrestling. |

Well growing up here in Memphis many of WWE superstars wrestled here. I've been to a few shows and I've seen Jerry Lawler, The Rock when he was named Flex Kabana, Kurt Angle, and Rikishi when he was J.R. Smooth. But I personally met Charlie Haas, he came to my graduation as a guest speaker. He was a classmates of mine's cousin. He's a pretty cool dude alot shorter than I expected though. I tried to get him to teach me how to do a German Suplex but he wouldn't. |

I got into wrestling 7-8 years ago, with watching pre-taped RAW shows, the days when Kane and Mankind tagged, Undertaker and Austin tagged, stuff like that, for me it was all so exciting, so much fun and the matches were so amazing to me at the time, like the TLC matches between E&C, Hardyz and Dudley’s, I do remember though when I was 8, going to my local arena and watching some old school British wrestling, Giant Haystacks, Mil Mascaras (sp?) Now that was awesome. Nowadays though, I’ve developed into realizing how annoying WWE is, some matches are awesome don’t get me wrong, always will be a HUGE CM Punk mark, but nowadays it’s all RoH, Nigel McGuinness being my icon, I can’t help but mark for him and anybody else who can wrestle some kick ass matches, I’m hopefully going to see RoH next time there in Liverpool. |

Mil Mascaras in a British ring? Are you sure you don't mean Kendo Nagasaki? I only ask as I'm not aware of Mascaras ever competing in England. |
