Credit: Gabe @ the RoH Message Board. So, who is ordering it? I have DISH and ordering it tonight to check it out. Should be a pretty good PPV from the reports that have been posted on the internet about it. Also, outside of the standard RoH fans here I have to wonder who on here is ordering it. It is a pretty good chance for all of you that aren't to check it out (if you have any of the things it is airing on). Since you are getting two hours of good wrestling for about ten dollars (or less, with some providers). A lot cheaper than going to their website and buying a 20$ DVD (or 10$ when on sale) plus S&H'ing to see if you like them. Any who, discuss, celebrate, bitch, whatever. |

I'll be ordering it July 20th when it comes to InDemand, sadly I have to wait that long. But for any and all ordering, you will enjoy it, trust me. The atmosphere live was just amazing from the moment Dave Prazak stepped foot through the curtain to welcome us to the moment that ended the main event the crowd was pretty much hot. There were very few, if any dull moments, and to any new buyers who are giving ROH a shot and never watched before, just have an open mind, and prepare for the true alternative to what is popular on TV these days. |

Isn't Ring of Honor the promotion that is going to be incorporating SHIMMER match(es) into their PPVs? If so, I'm guessing that hasn't started yet? |

Well they haven't in their PPVs yet, not sure when/if they will, but every DVD for the past so many have had a Shimmer match on it. Guess it really depends on crowd reaction, although fans know Shimmer wrestler beats the piss out of anything WWE Divas or even a bunch of non-Divas can do, there is the fact that Shimmer matches don't get as great reactions as a regular ROH match. None-the-less, Shimmer is finding its place in ROH, and now with a title and more frequent shows, you'll probably be seeing it a little more often, and even in the future on an ROH PPV for all we know. |

Actually Matt, Lita's right, in one of his recent interviews Gabe said he planned to have some SHIMMER action on PPV at some point. So, we can probably expect at least one of their matches to make it onto one of the PPVs. (If memory serves me correctly, there was a women's match at the Chi-town taping of the 2nd PPV. Who knows, that might be the first one to make it onto the national air waves.) |

Nice, good to know. I do know that NY isn't the hottest crowd for Shimmer matches, call it bad placement, but right after the intermission was horrific with crowd reactions, naturally it usually is the match that is bad in reactions as it is after a 30 minute break, but the NY drunken a-holes that shat all over the Strong-Delirious match on the PPV, shat all over Haze vs. Del Rey which wasn't a bad match. So yeah Chi-town would be better for a Shimmer match to make a PPV since Shimmer's home base is there. |

I have to say, that PPV was great over all from productions to in-ring product to promos (even by RoH's usual standards). Probably the best PPV I've seen in years in my personal opinion (with ECW's, WCW's and WWF's in their primes rivaling it). Every match was hot and worked (even Delirious/Strong which suffered a bit was HOT compared to what the typical WWE/TNA responses are now a days), and the segments flowed nicely. Even the little touches like the Strong/Delirious history video package and the lil' past clips of wrestlers' matches as they came out worked brilliantly. Also the segments were pretty cool as already mentioned, BJ's opening one was probably the weakest. Though, it wasn't like it had a whole lot to it (since it was more or less your standard open challenge promo). But every thing else from Danielson (looking like fucking Lex Luthor I might add)/Nigel/Morishima/KENTA segment to the Brent Albright hype one and to the Larry Sweeney's Sweet 'N' Sour Inc. one to the Steen/Generico vs. Briscoes one. If this is a sample for what's to come with their PPVs (where things like camera angles and production will only serve to get even better when they already trump TNA ) it may be a great thing for wrestling. I emplore any of you that read this to check it out, I'm pretty certain you won't be sorry you did. Ah, this goes right up there in "remembering how it was to be a mark" moments with watching ECW's Barely Legal live and WWECW's ONS (the first one). |
