Ok, so I went ad saw Transformers yesterday with my wife, it is actually a very enjoyable movie with lots of twists and some good scenes in it, which else has seen it and what were your thoughts? Mine personally I’d give it an 8/10, simply for the way it actually was both action packed plus full of humor too. Also for what it was worth, after what everyone said about it review wise there completely wrong thus why I will never believe a review again. |

I refuse to see based on the fact that I grew up a Gen 1 fan. While I hear it is loosely based around that period, I have also heard many "true" fans claim that the movie was a disgrace. |

I've seen it and I thought it was great. If you're going to not go see a movie because it's not strictly based around a certain series or comic or whatever, you're stupid. I'm really tired of all these geeks who won't go see movies or complain until they die about a movie because it wasn't exactly like it was written. Loosen up, enjoy a movie for what it's worth, not for what you expect it to be exactly like. |

I saw it, it was decent, though was your typical Summer Blockbuster/Michael Bay film ("OMG!!!1!!11 EXPLOSIONS!1!1!!11ONE!1!!!1111 LOLZ"). There were a few decent points, but really, it felt like there should've been less about the humans and more about transformers (seeing as they got top billing and all). Since outside of Megatron, they don't make you actually care about the Deceptacons. And outside of Bumble Bee & Prime, they don't give time to make you really care about the rest of the Autobots. Over all I'd give it a 6 out of 10, decent, but far from perfect and was what it was. |

So now I am stupid? Who the hell are you to tell me what to watch? If I don't want to see the greatest movie ever made because it may or may not depict grasshopper sex that is my own choice. I don't want to see the Transformers movie because as a kid I extensively enjoyed a certain version of it. I don't want to waste 9 bucks to go see a movie that I already know I won't like based on a pre-disposed standard in my mind. And as a paying customer I damn well expect a movie to be anyway I want. It's my right to like dislike, or simply not care about anything I watch. So don't tell me what I can or can't critique, watch, enjoy or hate. |

Yeah, you really need to chill out first off. And I didn't single you out in particular, I'm talking about the people who criticize the movies in general. People who dislike X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman, etc. just because it isn't exactly like the comics or series. Do you understand just how hard it is to translate it straight to a movie without there being any complications? Changes have to be made just so the movie doesn't run for three hours and keeps up a strong storyline. If you don't want to go see a movie just because you're anal that's fine, you're missing out. Now if however the movie really is shit, or has some odd ass scenes in it, like Spider-Man 3, for example, I can agree with you. |

And that is your opinion. Now I stand by what I said, nobody has the right to tell anyone what they should see or how they should adjust their tastes. However, personally I have seen nearly every single comic to movie made. And some were ok, some just sucked, and some were not what I expected but decent enough as a movie without a direct comparison to it's original content. As far as Transformer goes, I simply refuse to watch the movie because everything I have seen or heard regarding the movie indicates to me that I will greatly dislike it. So if I am fairly certain I am going to dislike a movie, why should I go to the theaters and drop $9 and 2 to 3 hours of my life? |

Yet you're letting what people say effect your decision to see a movie... If you're a fan of Transformers what's the harm in going to see it? Like you said, no one has the right to tell you what to do, so get your own opinion of the movie. |

*SIGH* This is going nowhere. I have nothing else to say about this topic. It is going to only lead to more arguing and that really never benefits anyone. Let's just say that we agree to disagree and leave it at that. |

I never listen to reviewers because different people have different views. There are some that might say that Moulan(sp?) Rouge was a great movie. me? I can't tell what the hell is going on. But on the flip side, I can say that Tommy was a great movie while others would just say "...the hell? He was blind then he sees? wtf?" Reviewing is the easiest job because you're saying what you think. Telling people what's good and bad. Who cares? There are a lot of movies that got bad reviews and I ended up enjoying. That and some reviewers are so stupid. It seems that a certain couple are handing out "Two thumbs up" like they were Jenna Jameson blow jobs. "True Fans" I just find to be funny. They'll blast a movie before it even comes out. I remember reading fans irate that Optimus Prime had flame decals on the side of his truck form. My god, who cares? Why make such a big deal about something so small! Drake, I admire your conviction to the original product, but as one Gen 1 fan to another, the movie did not suck. I was a little pissed they didn't have Soundwave, but at least they had Starscream and Jazz. Though apparently Soundwave's suuposed to be in the second...which I'm sure they'll make. I guess that's about it. So for those going to the movie and listen to reviews, here's mine; "It doesn't suck" Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

I have heard alot of different things. While I am fairly certain I won't be impressed, I may go ahead and rent it. I pay 15 bucks a month for unlimited rentals anyways. But to deal with the movie crowds and high prices for a movie that I may not like, I just can't bare to do it. I will however being watching the Simpsons Movie on Friday. |

Okay, for some reason I just remembered this now; My "fanboy movie experience" Okay, so on the day I went to see Transformers with my brother, the power had been out in town for a scheduled power outage...for whatever reason. Therefore, most stores were closed and such. But it was Sunday so it didn't really matter. Anyway, when we got there, we arrived forty five minutes early because it's a small theater that only plays it's movies twice a day in the evening. They have like six or seven movies so it's not entirely small. It's just no Cineplex Odeon or Imax or whatever, but yea. We arrived early because when my brother and his wife went to see Shrek The Third, there was a bit of a line. Therefore, we came early to beat the line. Thankfully we did. I'll get to that later. Okay, so the power was still out at the theater and more and more people started to show up. Eventually the time for the movie to start came about and the power was still out so we had to wait outside. By about 7:30, the line was freaking long. Like a hundred people or so long. Luckily, because we came early we were like the first ten in. Anyway, we waited in line for like an hour and a half...seriously. Just for power to resume. My brother was talking about going because he had to drive like eight hours the next day, but we stuck around. The theater itself was pretty packed and a little chilly. Sat front row center just so we could hear Megatron or whoever speak a millisecond before the people in the back could. This story has no ending really. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |

So my brother in law asked me to go see this tonight. While I remained spectectal, I agreed when he said he would pay. And I most say my initial reaction was completely wrong. I am man enough to admit to the world that I was wrong, I still don't think Kyle should tell people what to see based on his opinions but after watching the movie I was pretty impressed. Wasn't fond of a few nerd errors that I saw, but that can be expected. I am sure the money Chevy provided more than made up for making Bumble Bee a Camaro. The only part that I couldn't get past was the All-Spark. Granted it's been awhile such I emerged myself into Transformers folk lore, but didn't the All-Spark create "good" Transformers if in the hands of a good character? Cause when Sam was running it created Decepticons. Strangely enough the movie ended at exactly 1150. Which meant we got to go to the midnight screening of the Simpsons. The theater was like a high school kegger, you know minus the keg. While the stupid high school kids were a bit annoying always yelling at the screen like retarded apes, I did enjoy the movie itself. Very funny, very amusing and well worth watching. |

I actually did tell the kids in front of me to shut up. They all turned around as if they were suddenly hardcore, took one look at me and turned around. Intimidating stoned high school kids at a movie may not be the most Chuck Norris of moves, but I won't lie, being the Giant Asian has it's advantages. |

Come on, big guy, I deserve somewhat of a hug, right? I told you it wasn't that bad of a movie. I mean, if you were about to go see Spider-Man 3 and were all pumped I'd warn you before hand. And it's not necessarily that I'm trying to tell people what to see, but to just give things a chance before establishing an idea of how it is. Even if you think it's crap, keep an open mind 'til the end. That's always good, right? |

Hey, I was man enough to come onto the forum and admit that despite my admanat reactions that I enjoyed the movie. Nobody here knows me in real life, I could have easily avoided bringing the topic back up. But I didn't and that is as close of a hug as you get. And I WAS pumped to see Spiderman 3. Yeah. |

Come on, no hug? Just a little one? Haha, yeah, I was excited to see Spider-Man 3 at first, but then...the weird scenes where he was dancing and the odd way they tried to switch it up as him being "evil" threw me off. It was cool to see Venom though. |

Speaking of movies.. I went and saw the Simpsons movie. Never before have I been so eager to go to the cinema and see a film, but I wanted to go ASAP. I didn't want people telling me things or giving me opinions. And I'm glad I went. Well worth the cost of admission, the popcorn and the drink.. |

No joke half of my friends have me in their phone as Giant Asian, the other half as White Trash Asian. When I meet new people at bars I actually introduce myself as such. Seriously if you think about it most people forget names like crazy at bars, I know I do, and it's just easier for them to remember Giant Asian.
I JUST mentioned that like two posts up. Read before you think you are fresh by changing the subject. I already brought that up because I am cooler than Ash. |

Everyone's cooler than Ash! Not me though, I'm not hip and with it on any level in any category. So aside from myself, everyone's cooler than Ash! Although I guess criminals wouldn't be. So aside from myself and criminals, everyone's cooler than Ash! Then again, Dr. Phil isn't all the cool telling people how they should act. So aside from myself, all the criminals in the world, and Dr. Phil; everyone's cooler than Ash! Oh wait, what about Bill Gates? I read somewhere that he has enough money to give everyone like $3.25 or something but he won't. So really, aside from myself, criminals, Dr. Phil, and Bill Gates; everyone's cooler than Ash! Though now that I think about it, I'm not too much of an Oprah fan. Not that I don't like her, I just don't like that she's very fun to travel with. So aside from myself, criminals, Dr. Phil, Bill Gates, and Oprah, everyone is cooler than Ash. Then there's the color magenta. I mean, what is it? Pink or purple? It should really make up it's mind. You know what, I could go on and on like this so I'm just gonna stop. Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |
