OK, so what I found out with my last poll is that people don't want to be pigeon-holed into a specific style, and while gimmicky feds got a decent amount of interest, more folks are interested in just plain wrestling. Additionally, a few people brought up GREAT points about how the RP-based matches would be a foolish choice. A lot of you seem interested in the FIW-style full matches, but who among you will write? And if no writers, what's the best alternative? Ah, enough of my prattling. Here's the new poll, now with coding. 1. Would you be willing to write? Full-time, weekly, between 2 and 5 pages, with a respectable amount of breaks if possible. Small feds need all the writers they can get. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? A paragraph or couple of sentences to explain the result. I personally don't like it 'cuz I feel the RPer gets cheated out of a cool match reward, but eh. It's up to y'all. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? I know a lot of you were disinclined toward these previously, but it mostly seemed in favor of other people doing all the work. If that's not possible, would this be preferable for you? 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? Bear in mind this would require some people would actually join as effing tag-teams. I so tire of tag titles sitting about collecting dust. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Bear in mind this would require some people would actually join as women. I so tire of... well, ANY titles sitting about collecting dust. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? This should help me with staff. I hate staff not getting used. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? Aesthetic, yeah, but so's the next question... 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? That should be good for now. Here's the coded portion.

1. Would you be willing to write? Probably not, I'm afraid. It takes me long enough to do my FIW match in the week. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? If it's got to be done, it's got to be done, I suppose. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? It's an interesting idea. Do we also have to include misses and stuff as part of the spot-lists? 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? Not especially, since it kind of goes against the whole indy-ness of it, ya kow? 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? Why the hell not? Hardcore is cool if it's varied enough. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? Speaking as someone who has an honourable, pure-wrestling character, I'd have to say no, since it's a hell of an effort to keep him from descending into cliche. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? Yeah. I like tag team wrestling. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Again, with the cruiserweight division; having people of all shapes and sizes fighting together goes better with the indie-ness. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Anything, really. Interviewers with a bit of personality are a lot of fun to write. OF course, it's a fine line between being fun and having them dominate the thing. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? Nothing too elaborate. I always liked the RAW style huge-ass screen and the stage and the MASSIVEEXPLODINGWORLD!!! but that doesn't go so well with the indie thing. Keep it simple, I suppose. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Anything combo that isn't Black, Red and White, my BFO colours. But seriously, as long as it doesn't burn my eyes out, whatever'd do. |

1. Would you be willing to write? Not full time, maybe bi-weekly. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? I'd prefer it over nothing since it would at least be some thing to go on, yes. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? Eh, I guess. I'd still prefer short results over this. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? Possibly, but I would like to see a Puro-ish aspect to it for once. Where each division (Cruiserweight and Heavyweight) is actually treated like a legit sporting division. So, that some times the Heavyweight division would be on top while other times it would be the Cruiserweight. Basically neither being made to look inferior to the other (similar to the DC and Hellcat in FIW). 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? The problem with a "hardcore division" is that just the plain hardcore division is so played out. Either it becomes a joke or it is constantly people trying to one up each other with writing big spots in it. Though, another problem rises from then trying to make it stand out from the rest. Since if you go over board it becomes too complicated and a mess, and it is very easy to go that way. I'd say no, just leave the more "hardcore" matches to matches that justify the stipulations (grudge matches, special challenges, feud matches, ect). 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? While it isn't nearly as explored as the above division and could lead to some interesting things, eventually the gag runs it's course. That is the main problem with a division that carters to a certain type of wrestling. Eventually it becomes either a complete joke or a parody of itself. So, I'm gonna have to go with no. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? Yes, I've always been a fan of tag team wrestling and it's a shame that modern wrestling makes it seem so unimportant. When there was a time when it's belts would be regarded on par with the singles top belt of a company. Similar to how we've been turning the FIW tag titles around in recent months. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Really, once again, much like the wrestling style divisions, it is hard to keep these fresh. Even more so to get a lot of members to be apart of it. FIW has the luck of having a plump sized roster that it is relatively easy to make a solid division for this. But new or low on numbers feds it isn't a good idea for. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Personally, I stick by what all wrestling promoters have said since pretty much the dawn of time. The interviewer is there to in the end help put over the wrestling it is interviewing. As well as further put across the "larger than life" image of the wrestlers. Whether it is making Wrestler A look even more jacked/fit compared to them. Or, making Wrestler B look even more intelligent compared to them. Or, making Wrestler C appear even more scary and threatening compared to them, ect. If a interviewer does nothing but draw attention to itself, then it's failing it's basic function. It's getting ITSELF over, not the wrestler(s). 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? I always was fond of as far as barricades go either none (a la ole southern wrestling or Puro) or a near caged like feeling to them (a kin to what FIW has). As well as I always liked the walk way/run way/plank that led the wrestlers to the ring (a la NWA/early WCW and late ECW) as opposed to just a floor or ramp. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Really, black is always a easy base color for any board to go from there with. Since very few colors don't match up with black well. Though lighter colors can make the board more cheerful. Only problem is you don't want to go with too many brights (white, yellow, ect) as then it looks down right ugly. And, can some times be a bitch to read things on (especially if some one uses a bright color too). So, I'd say go with black or a gray and maybe a blue or a red. |

1. Would you be willing to write? No particularly. Once the STNA classes start I'm worried about time constraints. I'm already trying to help out at FIW as much as I can with people not having time to write matches. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? I never had a problem with short results, actually. I'd prefer them written in almost internet-style reports where high spots of the match and major storyline moments are noted throughout the match. I've never seen a match as a reward for RPing, in all honesty. I always saw victories, title reigns, big storylines as the rewards. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? I thought the idea was pretty cool, honestly. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? I've always liked cruiserweight divisions but with an indy fed, I don't see enough cruisers to merit a division. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? If done properly, it'd be pretty cool. I REALLY liked WWF's 24/7 storyline with the title. It was unique and fun and made the title unpredictable. I understand that being hard to do with an e-fed but other than using that storyline, I feel the title would get old fast having hardcore matches every week for it. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? No. I hate pure divisions. That's me personally but I get so bored by them. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? If there were tag teams, sure. It's always good to have something for those teams to go for. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Come on, it's me. However, I put this under the cruiser division. Great division to have but I don't see enough women in the fed to merit a division, unfortunately. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Someone easy to write. I really dislike when interviewers are so distinct in personality that it feels more like I'm writing another wrestler someone made. I understand generic interviewers aren't good either but they shouldn't have a bunch of quirks and precise speech patterns that force the RPer to think more about the questions than the answers. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? Easy to understand descriptions. Sorry to say, but I had to read the ReVolt ringside construction about five times and I still had to ask you guys if I was reading it right. Maybe that's just me though. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Doesn't really matter much to me. |

1. Would you be willing to write? I don't know, I am already writing for two feds right now. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? Always. It helps keep the flow going and prevents those snags that kill feds. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? I would rather have short results. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? That would be a nice feature. Yeah. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? While I personally love the Hardcore division above all else as a handler, realistically having one in a Indie fed may not be the best. Then again if it does work I am not openly opposed. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? Yes because if it is a indie fed then that would fit well 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? It wouldn't hurt but the talent has to be there first. I don't suggest having one just to have one. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? As above it would work only if the talent is there first. Trying to force a division that isn't there never works. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Variety. I like to have say a comedic guy, a serious guy and a ditzy blonde. It allows you the freedom to change what you do instead of becoming stale with the same interview week in and week out. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? If we are doing an indie fed then realism. You aren't going to have a titan-tron with pyros for a crowd of 500 people. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? I don't really mind as long as it isn't overly tacky and hurts my eyes. |

I don't intend to join, but I figured I would at least give some constructive criticism for you. For the record; you quoted, not coded, your post. 1. Would you be willing to write? Nope. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? If the situation is dire and it's an irregular basis, I can understand and accept this. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? No. I stand by the belief that people sit around for a couple of hours a week and write some random nonsense to portray a character. The least we can do, as an admin, is give them their hours back with a fully written match. Spotlists do nothing but give you a result with repetitive writing; there is no personal flair in the match. I'd much rather read a match written by Dai, which always manages to confuse me by switching between action and speech, than a repetitive match that has no effort in it. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? No. If it's a 'realistic' (and I use that loosely) indy fed, then most of the roster are going to be within the parameters of the cruiserweight division. At least half of the EPP wrestler is underweight and malnourished.. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? No, but that's my personal taste. I used to enjoy hardcore wrestling, but having tables and chairs on a weekly basis just grew boring to write with. I'd much rather have stipulations like this and other similar ones saved for a big blow-off match where their use can be more appreciated. Especially if it's an indy fed. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? Again, no. Only because it's a bitch to write and if you want to get into it, you need to have a specific character. On top of that, unlike the hardcore division, it seperates people and the possibility of unique angles over the belt. What chance is there of a Pure Champion defending against a brawler? I think divisions have been over-used in recent years. There's too much emphasis on gimmick matches and stipulations; these were originally designed to mask poor talent and make for exciting finalés in feuds. There's always an emphasise to go up and beyond. I'd much prefer to have a top belt and a mid-card belt for the less talented folks to work toward. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? Tag teams are key to wrestling, so yeah. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Based on experience, no. I've never seen a women's division take off in an e-fed. FIW may be the exception, but for some reason, this place has always had a decent number of female characters. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Knowledgeable. Whilst I enjoy someone humourous, like Herman Cardgage or my Senór Aqua creation (who didn't speak English) for instance, sometimes the best thing you can do is have a knowledgeable interviewer. Neutral towards whoever, unless something has happened between them, and respectful. It's much easier to work a character that way. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? If it's indy, I like it to be realistic. EPP's arena is based on one used by CHIKARA in their early days. It has a low ring and entrance ways from behind stage doors, with nothing more. No fencing, no screens, no pyro. It's cheap and looks like crap, but there's no need for a fancy lay-out. A big TV and fireworks won't draw people.. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? White backgrounds and black text. Over the years, where my PC is under direct sunlight in the summer because of my conservatory, I struggle to see anything with a black background before 8pm. Though, I think the colour should reflect the nature of the fed. Hope that helps. |

But if there are no writers for the fed, and we want to post shows on time, how are those full results going to get written? That wasn't meant as a burn, but I imagine if that's what you're trying to do at your fed it'd explain why things keep getting late, and I'd try to prevent that personally. |

It doesn't take long to write short results. Back in the day, I could write short results for an entire show in about two hours. A few paragraphs per match and 'hey presto' as they say. I would just much rather the admin put in as much effort, if not more, than the writers. My style of efedding sees me extremely bored between shows as, beyond reading roleplays, I don't actually do anything. I don't work on angles or anything; only when I write, which is why I put more effort in. Plus, with the exception of one or two people, my folks seem content with late shows. I blame the AWL for that. |

Well, if it works for you it works for you. My life gets in the way A LOT, and while I have enough time for a second e-fed currently, there's not room for me running it single-handedly without just using short results. I thought your post was bashing short results AS WELL AS spotlists, so there's the mistake I made. Carry on with the poll, kids. |

1. Would you be willing to write? Yes I would, at least twice a month, three times if need be. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? If it were absolutely necessary yes. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? Depends. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? Not really, I'd rather have the titles in the fed be open to all weight classes. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? Agreeing with Oni, I would like to keep the gimmick matches like no disqualification and what not for special occasions. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? No, I would not, though a submissions-based title might be interesting it would need to be open to everybody. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? Of course. Being in a tag team right now myself, and having extensive experience with it I really enjoy a tag division that has at least six to eight teams, or even four, hell, FIW's doing good right now with three. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? No, in the place of that I'd rather women be eligible to compete for all the titles, so that they're not stuck in one particular division. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Knowledgeable, intelligent and a little slow on the uptake. It's hard to write interview RPs with characters that don't really want to be there (ex. Janine), but on the same token it's simple with guys like Herman, Toby or Gunnar. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? I would keep it simple to the point where there'd be no fireworks, but there WOULD be strobe lights in every color you can think of, there'd be no video screen, and there'd be an elevated ramp that connects right to the ring. TNT used to do that and I really dug that. As far as guardrails, either present day WWE (Black barriers) or the old-style WCW guardrails would work fine with me. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Dark-ish backgrounds (Not so dark that I can't read some text) and bright text. Not too bright though. |

1. Would you be willing to write? No, I have seriously hit writers burn. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? Yes, I actually enjoy them more so then fully written. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? No, I’d still prefer to see the owner or whoever writes the match to use there imagination and make the results worth reading. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? Only if it had some cool stipulation with it. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? Again yes, but some unique stipulation. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? That’s always a good thing to have. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? No, maybe a Trio division? 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Definitely not. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Easy to write in role-plays, easily usable in a lot of situations. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? Not really fussy. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Black, Grey, Red. |

1. Would you be willing to write? Hahahahaha.....hahahahahaha.....hahahahahahaha I mean, no sorry. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? Of course that would be fine. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? Not a clue what a spotlist is. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? Nah. Not really an indie thing to have. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? Depends. Could be interesting with gimmick matches and the 24 hour rule. Basically as long as it's kept interesting. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? Nah, again not really Indie. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? Only if there's enough people to keep it strong. 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? Nah, not really. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Well the dumb interviewers are always the most popular, hence Jeff Noon always been used. I'd like to see a smart ass bastard. That would be nice. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? Ropes...railings...I would like something original though. Something dangerous on the outside. Like a huge vacuum under the ring that sucks anyone in that goes near, or those house bots from Robot Wars.....those that don't know what I mean, basically on Robot Wars (the show where people fight battle robots they built against eachother), in the corners of the arena were robots controlled by the makers of the show, that had huge fuck-off flamethrowers etc, that if you went near, they kicked your ass. So I don't know what could be the equivilant of that...maybe a rabid crazy bastard on a chain... 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Black and dark red...just feels...right...with some gold... |

1. Would you be willing to write? Uhmm sorry guys... I'm not good in that department. 2. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer short results? Yea would be better than nothing or late results.. 3. If not enough writers can be found, would you prefer spotlists? No... Like in the writing I would be no good at it. 4. The results of the poll strongly favor an indie fed. Would you prefer this fed to have a cruiserweight division? Yea I would like to see a cruiserweight division. I'm still a little off on the indie fed so that part might take me away from it but.. If the indie fed has something to it like Oni was explaining to me then I might join. 5. Would you prefer the fed to have a hardcore division? Yes! I personally love the hardcore division. 6. Would you prefer the fed to have an honorable, pure wrestling division? I think if there was a hardcore division then there would have to be a pure wrestling division to kinda balance things out. 7. Would you prefer the fed to have a tag-team division? If there is enough people willing to do it then why not? 8. Would you prefer the fed to have a women's division? No... I don't mind woman vs. woman matches but there are never enough women to do it or there is enough women but they fade out over time. Women's division never work out right to my personal experience. 9. What are your favorite qualities in an interviewer? Maybe a kinda down to earth interviewer would be something good and different than your average stupid interviewer guy or the nerd or bitch or the ones that pretend to be cool. 10. What are your favorite qualities in the ringside construction? Not bother by this really.. whatever you come up with. 11. Which colors would you prefer for the fed? Black... Not the off black that FIW has but a real true black. And maybe Blues and purples. |
