you know i've been thinking about guys like clay kruger and kira izumi and gals like britney and kim coulter, you know and how well all of our characters have real life counterparts their based off of.So does maryse, kyo, kelly kelly, george clooney, and all of the others exist in our FIWverse as i'm going to dub it? or do they not exist at all?ALso if they don't exist does places like mcdonalds and walmart?Or even little things like the postition of a street sign? It's something very interesting to think about(at least i think so anyways) So if this is our own universe does our own rules and own products, stores, ect aply? or do we just stick with this universes things, minus the people who our wrestlers embody?

To me, they all exist. FIW (and for that matter NGIW/NeonGIW) exists in the real world operating below WWE but above TNA, ROH etc. in the pro wrestling rankings. We don't really talk about WWE in the same way it doesn't talk about other wrestling companies. All the amenities, shops and landmarks still exist the same. George Clooney still exists, just a slightly more handsome guy who looks a lot like him performs for FIW.

There has been a shift in WWE to mention Japan especially and a little bit Mexico but that's in response more to people like AJ Styles where they won't talk about TNA, so they bring up his history there.

I'm actually quite interested in whether handlers treat their characters as characters or real life people. I now see Clay Krueger as purely a character, portrayed by Hal Moore Jr. who is the real life person. In the past I've seen it as the character is the real life person.

Sorry to attempt to hijack the thread, it just struck me as something I might think differently to everybody else on.

That is definitely an interesting thing to think about. In my head, Tom Hardy exists in the FIWverse and just happens to have some resemblance to Nathaniel Alexander. And since Nathaniel tends to visit real-life five-star restaurants/hotels/vacation spots etc. in his promos and such, that sort of solidifies it for me that the FIWverse and "real life" are one and the same.

To Craig's point about Hal Moore Jr. portraying the character of Clay Krueger, I tend to look at it the same way with Nathaniel. There's "The Diamond Standard" Nathaniel Alexander on camera, and behind the scenes, it's Nathaniel Alexander the regular guy. And the regular guy is drastically different from Nathaniel Alexander the character in that he's not a Grade A prick. Lol! He is a former businessman in real life just like his on-screen character is, though. But I'm not entirely sure he's as rich as his character is. I think FIW foots the bill for all the high-end hotels and restaurants and all that. Lol.

Cool, I always wandered about this in here and other places as well and what would come about if our characters and their real life counterparts would meet up and other things like that.

I see Kira as a person more than a character. He may be a bit exaggerated at times and be more sane or insane at others but he is more of a person to me. I'd prefer more for me at least, like how in time travel as well, that two people who are the same can not and should not exist at once or dire consequences shall reign down upon us from the wrestling gods and all of space-time continuum.I like that we exist in this universe we are familiar with but just imagine if we weren't.The possibilities could be endless.Really we could have aliens and bigfoots, bigfeet?I'm not sure on the plural of bigfoot but what ever.We could have all sorts of amazing things.

This is a really deep and meta kind of thing to think about but i like stuff like this.It would be cool to make up products or other little things though but than again as long as we don't blow a black hole through the universe who says we can't make up a soft drink to be a sponsor or something? sorry i'm rambling on but this stuff is really cool!

I'm fairly sure Ash's New World Wrestling was sponsored by Popsi, which somebody can surely confirm.

I echo mostly what Craig said. I used to say "Some characters are just characters, some are actually like that in real life" but the more I learn about backstage wrestling history the more I realize... that's just wrestling, man.

So, yeah. Jericho just looks a lot like Seth Rollins, Vi happens to resemble Solo Darling, etc. etc.

A long time ago I know we used to be a network, I think it was FX. However, for realism of allowing our RPers to basically write whatever they want (within reason), it made more sense to just be on our own network where we wouldn't be breaking too many broadcasting rules.

Home Ticket Booth is so lonely without NGIW...

I can see the appeal of using real things, but I kinda like the idea of making stuff up. Just random things with perhaps endorsement style commercials as we get closer to each PPV. I dunno, just an idea.

Though as I see it through my own characters...I haven't given that much thought. Probably a little weird, but I never imagine them when I'm writing. Could be why my descriptives are so lackluster. Either that or I just suck at that. lol

I acknowledge the world we live in as if my character lives in it. I try not to make any references to the wrestling that exists in our real world, not in character at least. So does Kevin Owens exist to Jack Manson Jr.? I would say no, in my FIW'verse anything wrestling related is strictly e-fed related.

The way I see it, some guy bought a Curry Man mask back in the day, made a few modifications to it, and now he's The Dream. It am a explains how he can sell them.

As for Marilyn and Hayden, people look similar I suppose. There's no reason why they can't look similar to Bayley and Marty Scurll.
