Okay,

So I haven't been a regular here in awhile because I could see things kind if splintering and I was depressed over it. I have been trying to think about how be could be one big happy family. I think we could all put aside our differences, lessen stress and no one would have to leave. Ready?

We could split the rosters again.

I know that sounds crazy, but this is the thought I had. If we split the rosters we could have one person in charge of each show. Preferably two folks that got along and there wouldn't be so much pressure on one, "Grand Puba" to have to deal with everything. Also, with the rosters split, the amount of folks would be smaller on both sides. That would give everyone more of a chance to help out as time wouldn't be as crazy if it was everything at once.

We could have 12 pay-per-views. 4 for one roster, 4 for another and then 4 that features both on the same show.

I think this would offer all of us a chance to work closer together and have less strife. I know right now this is like a "finger-in-the-dam" approach. However, I think this would be a good start. We could all get closer and there could be a harmony in FIW and between all of us!

So, what do you all think? :D

It's partially why my campaign was set up the way it was, honestly. So that people that want a change have the alternative, and people that want an RP fed still have it too. With those that are fine with both being able to play on both or bounce between them.

It's really the only version of a brand split I see as being viable in the near future.

I don't dislike your proposal, I think it could be neat. But I'm just unsure if an honest to god brand split could maintain or if it wouldn't just worsen the issues.

I get where you're coming from though, I would like harmony in FIW.

The board in general feels like it's fallen off of a cliff since the Campaigns thread and we're all just trying to recover from the fallout of that A-bomb.

While I appreciate that this is weighing on your mind and this place means so much to you that you want to find a solution, I don't have confidence that a brand split is that solution.

Considering our inability to get and keep new members, the brands would be comprised of the same members just handling different characters at best. Which doesn't lessen the work load more than distributing it differently.

FIW's old brand split bred more animosity than it fixed with the two brands quietly (sometimes not quietly) competing against one another. Both fed heads want their brand to be seen is the better brand. The members (if they are not on both brands) have the same mentality. So for this to not be a problem, one person has to run both brands and that still doesn't lessen a work load for anyone.

Not trying to be a negative Nancy. I'd actually love to be optimistic, but FIW has already tried the brand split idea and it was the source of a lot of strife. Thankfully, those of us still around have mended fences since then.

What Lita said. If the show had a roster sizeable enough, it could certainly work. Especially since we were all ten years younger and a bit more headstrong and competitive back then, I think even with two GMs we'd be able to find some kind of harmony. But with what we have right now, it'll just cause different problems about a spread-out work load. Nir's platform is the closest thing to the brand split idea that could function given our present numbers, but still madness because of the amount of work it requires to keep up.

Nir's a madman, though, so if anyone can do it, it's him.

Thank you for your input everyone. I appreciate it. I just wanted to throw something in so I could try and be positive and constructive.

I suppose it was also the wish that I could wave a magic wand and fix everything. You know like... puppies, and rainbows and everyone getting along forever.

Looking forward to seeing what's down the road in the near future.

I'm much the same in response to this as Wight. A bigger roster would lend itself more to this, more members and when I say 'members' I mean HANDLERS rather than WRESTLERS.

Having lived through it, I don't have a very negative view of a brand split, I can only recall two or three serious flashpoints that warranted attention other than that I considered it healthy competition.

I do note that campaigns such as Nir's and Otaku's contain elements of this so it obviously has been considered and in some parts utilised, albeit not as a designated 'brand split', more of a 'style split'.

It's always positive when people bring ideas to the table, I've certainly been appreciative of all Rob's help during my 'reign' (I use that term very loosely) and anybody that cares about the continued success of the fed is a good thing in my book.
