So, Samoa Joe joined Renee and Graves today for another roster reveal. linkage. Still love Joe's entrance music, even though I haven't watched in ages. Samoa Joe has Regular Guy voice instead of Wrestler Voice and it's tripping me out. Confirmed WWE 2K18 Wrestlers [size0]Bold wrestlers are from the latest reveal set. *Indicates they haven't yet been announced in the Reveals, but otherwise officially announced. (!) Indicates they're returning, but weren't in last year. (!!) Indicates they're completely new to the franchise. RAW Bayley The Big Show (Beard) Bray Wyatt Braun Strowman Brock Lesnar Cesaro Dean Ambrose Emma Goldust* John Cena Kalisto Karl Anderson Luke Gallows Maryse (!) Mickie James (!) The Miz Paige Roman Reigns Samoa Joe* Sasha Banks Seth Rollins* Sheamus Summer Rae SmackDown! AJ Styles Baron Corbin Bobby Roode Becky Lynch Erick Rowan Dolph Ziggler Jey Uso (New Look) Jimmy Uso (New Look) Jinder Mahal (!) Konnor Luke Harper Mojo Rawley Naomi Natalya Randy Orton Sami Zayn Shinsuke Nakamura Sin Cara Tamina Viktor Zack Ryder NXT Alexander Wolfe (!!) Ember Moon (!!) Eric Young (!!) Hideo Itami Killian Dain (!!) Nikki Cross (!!) Sawyer Fulton (!!) 205 Live Akira Tozawa (!!) Legends Andre The Giant Alundra Blayze Bam Bam Bigelow Batista (!)* Big Boss Man (Late 80s/Early 90s) Bret "The Hitman" Hart Brie Bella British Bulldog Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake Buddy Roberts Bushwhacker Butch Bushwhacker Luke Daniel Bryan (Long Hair, Beard) Diesel Diamond Dallas Page "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes Earthquake Eddie Guerrero Edge The Godfather Goldberg Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Ivory Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart Kane (2012 Mask) Kerry Von Erich Kevin Nash Kevin Von Erich Kurt Angle (Classic) (!) Kurt Angle (ECW) (!) Larry Zbyszko Lita Mark Henry Nikki Bella Rob Van Dam (!)* The Rock Triple H The Undertaker They mentioned more double team moves and improved tag-team gameplay, but vaguely. Seriously no details. It was previously announced that The Rock is curating the music this year, Renee mentioned it including... - Blues Brothers – “Soul Man” - Boston – “Smokin’” - Bruno Mars – “Runaway Baby” - Disturbed – “Down With The Sickness” - Eazy-E – “Boyz-N-The-Hood” - George Thorogood & The Destroyers – “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” - Joe Walsh – “Rocky Mountain Way” - Kanye West – “Black Skinhead” - Kid Rock – “You Never Met a White Boy Quite Like Me” - ¡MAYDAY! (feat. Tech N9ne) – “Last One Standing” - Tech N9ne (feat. Krizz Kaliko, Serj Tankian) – “Straight Out The Gate” Could do without the Kid Rock, but hell I can mute it in the jukebox. Otherwise that's a very cool, very eclectic list. I think Joe said Daniel Bryan was gonna be here next week? I didn't hear it very well. Ember Moon's Entrance Bobby Roode's Entrance The Miz and Maryse's Entrance There was also this video I meant to talk about a few days ago on Chris Denker's channel. I didn't see any official release from 2K about it, maybe I just missed it. Here's the video featuring some in-ring stuff and gameplay. It technically revealed a few guys early, but they were dudes you knew were gonna be in so whatever. The biggest thing is the gameplay, how a few of the new systems work, and how they look in-game. It's hard to explain well, so just watch the video. It's less than seven minutes. As for the leaked roster posted on the previous page, most of it seems pretty legit, but I question some of the characters being DLC (like Matt and Jeff) and the inclusion of a few odd choices like Michelle McCool and specifically "A-Train". But weirder things have happened. |

Just announced today that pre-ordering the Deluxe edition or the Cena Nuff edition also gets you Batista and Rob Van Dam DLC, in addition to Kurt Angle and playing four days early. Nice bundle. Added their shiz to the list up there. |

I have to say. As disappointing as it is to not have intergender capabilities this year, this is turning out to be an incredible women's roster. Maybe the best the game has had since... I wanna say Shut Your Mouth. I'm stunned to see Maryse as playable. Surprised by additions like Ivory, as well as the fact Emma, Summer Rae, and Tamina made the game and Paige wasn't removed. Very happy to see Nikki Cross and Ember Moon in the game. I know there have been issues in the past with NXT women not making the game when they should have. I think the Four Horsewomen were initially excluded from the introduction of NXT talent in the game. I'm pretty sure we'll see Trish Stratus added as a Legend. I'd be surprised of Jacqueline wasn't in once again this year (I believe she and Ivory were both added last year). And then it'll be nice if they include the newest female legend Beth Phoenix. I would love to revisit Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James. So still waiting for Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Charlotte as the obvious inclusions still not confirmed. Nia Jax and Carmella are bound to be in, of course. Lana is the one I'm waiting to see what they do with. She's been more active than Maryse (who only had one Wrestlemania match where she didn't do any moves), but she wasn't wrestling until Money In The Bank (despite having a match at last year's Wrestlemania pre-show). |

New video, new list. I'm up kinda late so maybe you guys all saw it already, I dunno. It's Kevin Owens, not Daniel Bryan. I was wrong. Video here: clicky. Owens is totes in character. Authors of Pain Entrance Finn Balor Entrance This reveal also calls the previously linked list into question, since it doesn't contain Nick Miller, Shane Thorne, or Rick Martel. The last of which is kind of weird because I'm given to understand he was supposed to be in 2K17 but was pulled at some point in development for Reasons so you'd think they'd include him on the list since 2K already put time and effort into him it seems like a sure bet he'd make the next roster, much like TJP. |

This gives us 197 (ish) on-disc wrestlers, not counting any variants they didn't specifically say on the countdown or on the official forums. If we contrast that with The "Leaked" List that said 2K claimed 210 wrestlers would be in the game, that leaves 13 spots unfilled. Furthermore, guys on the list who haven't been announced for the game include... On Leak List, Not Announced Albert Aleister Black (Suggested DLC) Andrade "Cien" Almas Ariya Daivari A-Train Austin Aries Blake Bob Backlund Boogeyman Bubba Ray Dudley David Von Erich Drew Gulak Drew McIntyre (Suggested DLC) D-Von Dudley Elias Samson Eva Marie Eve Torres Fritz Von Erich Hoho Lun Hulk Hogan James Ellsworth Jeff Hardy (Suggested DLC) Jerry "The King" Lawler Joseph Conners (Suggested DLC) Kelly Kelly Lana Lince Dorado Mandy Rose Mark Andrews (Suggested DLC) Matt Hardy (Suggested DLC) Michelle McCool Murphy Mustafa Ali Pete Dunne (Suggested DLC) Ricky Morton Road Warrior Animal Road Warrior Hawk Robert Gibson Ron Simmons Ruby Riot Tajiri Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy Tony Nese Trent Seven (Suggested DLC) Tyler Bate (Suggested DLC) William Regal Wolfgang (Suggested DLC) X-Pac Yokozuna That's 49 wrestlers that the "leaked" list suggested that weren't on-disc, including those they implied would be DLC. Obviously DLC hasn't been officially announced yet (I'll let you know when it is) and a few of those seem like likely candidates. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, for example. They were inducted as Legends at Wrestlemania, so we might see them as part of a Legends DLC pack or Showcase. Austin Aries wouldn't surprise me if he was a late pull from the roster, given his unfriendly departure from the company. The Smackdown Hotel goes into a similar analysis of who's missing from the roster who are prominent faces in the WWE right now, as well as who's no longer in that was in the year previous (could've used that before I figured it out for myself...) and I think they've got the right idea in general. I feel like we'll be seeing the Hardys, the Singh Brothers, Andrade Cien Almas, Aleister Black, Elias Samson, and Tony Nese as DLC. As much as it pains me to say, though, I'm worried the Hardys were too late at Wrestlemania to make the cut. I feel like we might see Lince Dorado as well? Maybe that's just me hoping... |

So I was doing a little surfing today because I'm used to there being more news for a WWE game out by now. And there is! It's old, so you might already know it, but I found this and this at the Smackdown Hotel with discussion of some of the new features and alternate costumes. Awesome! These answers some questions from the previous posts on the thread. I went back and edited the old post just to keep things cleaner and keep me from reposting a bunch of shit. On the gameplay side, however... Royal Rumble - There's a new "Ring Toss Out" skill that lets you throw your opponent out of the ring. - Eliminations are easier. - Wrestler weight class factors. - New elimination types thanks to the Carry/Drag system. - There's now a recovery meter. You can rest by the ropes for a bit until you get up. - It's now possible to throw someone outside the ring under the first or second rope to without eliminating them! Elimination Chamber - Both the old and new Chambers are playable. - Entrances ARE in the game. They show the regular entrance up until the ramp and then transition into an animation of them entering the chamber. - There are six different chamber-entering animations and a champ-specific one, as well as some wrestler-specific ones. New Skills and OMG Moments - New skills for Daredevil moves from; Semi Trailer and Truss. - New skills for Finishers on a Car or Semi Trailer. - New skill for "Corner Running Attack" while carrying an opponent with the new carry system. Miscellaneous - The area for fighting in the crowd is the same, despite the rumors to the contrary. There are more weapons there, though. - First Blood and Best of Three Falls are available in Create-A-Match. - JoJo is in the ring when presenting entrances for all you Bray Wyatt mains out there. - The arena and crowd are more dynamic, which we've seen in some videos. - The brand split and stage re-designs are live, with RAW having the announce table near the stage and not having one near the ring. I think we've seen that in videos, too. - The menu and interface are revamped with a red/blue RAW vs. SmackDown feel. - The weight class is shown next to Overall Score when highlighting the wrestler you're about to pick for a match. Definitely some stuff to be excited about! Just over a month away! |

So happy about Elimination Chamber entrances. Sometimes you don't want to see entrances, but sometimes you do and not getting the choice in Chamber matches was kind of lame. I love that they did specific chamber-entering pieces. A little bummed JoJo is the announcer. She's cool and everything, but I'm not the biggest fan of her announcer voice. I really like the new guy they have, though. I wish he had been in the game, but I understand why he's not. Women's roster is DOPE this year. So many girls and I'm thrilled to have Maryse back as a playable character. I wish Mandy Rose and Kelly Kelly had been in, though. That would have been awesome, but I can't really complain about the women's roster this year. They went above and beyond, despite not giving us intergender back. Men's roster is great as well. My favorites are all pretty popular names (Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Seth Rollins) so it's not like I had any doubt they'd be there. Still, there's so many people on the roster this year and with the changes to the Rumble that should make for some really fun Royal Rumbles. |

At this point my biggest concern is performance. Last year the game shipped with some bugs where multi-person matches weren't worth playing, especially if they were with CAWs. Now with the new "eight people can be in the ring" advancements, I'm worried if stuff is gonna cause slowdown. Ordinarily I'd assume it was just fixed, but Chris Denker said he had some issues with it at SummerSlam, so... If it is/does I'm certain they'll patch it. They were so SO good about patching for a much longer time than I thought they would be last year. But it'll be a bummer to deal with until then. Now I'm just waiting to see what goodies we get in the creation suite! Here's hoping for one or two new materials, individual boots, and a plague doctor mask. |

This all makes me excited now, but... theres going to be glitches out the ass. Playing this early will be hell for sure and i hope/wish they'd fix this crap before hand, but know they jusy like sending out half done games they just patch still like 3 months in. That bothers me a bit, but i can be allot of guys and gals i like now so i'm happy about that and all the new stuff! |

That's a complicated situation. Especially with a yearly game there are deadlines to be met, and the publisher has a lot of say in when the game does/doesn't go out as opposed to the developer. There's also problems that develop over time, or don't get noticed until tens of thousands of people are playing the game in their own individual ways versus whatever size QA team the developer has. Especially a game as huge and complex as the WWE franchise. |

I can see that, but it gets frustrating at times. Wish they'd get the nba treatment so they could be... well be less glitchy. And Nakamura's boma ye almost never works which pisses me off to no end. I'll still buy it an denjoy it's glitchy gloriousness though. |
