So, yesterday they teased a big reveal of career mode. And I had a thought last night that I'd waddle in here and post "Career mode is career mode" and have done with it, because it's not a part of the game that typically holds my interests as well as Universe mode or the creation suite.

Link.

I did not expect it to be quite this underwhelming.

The press release is tied up in red tape. Can't say "face" or "heel", act as though the majority of their fans call them "MyPLAYER"s and not "CAWs" or "CASes". Gross.

Basically they've streamlined career mode. It doesn't seem to last as long, a bit past Wrestlemania after a healthy lead-up would be my guess. You get to be a corporate heel or a "do it for the fans" babyface, each with their own perks. Sounds interesting.

The explorable backstage is pretty cool, too. I'm honestly most excited about meeting the backstage workers. I wonder if they get the real makeup team and tailors and stuff.

EDIT: They're also fixing the promo system a bit.

CREATION SUITE

Let's talk highlights.

- Face templates for different races and ethnicities that actually look good!
- - They can be tweaked.
- You pick two body types to "blend" in between to find their ideal body type, per part. So, say I pick "fat" and "ripped", I can go in and tweak that for the arms, the chest, the neck, etc. all individually.
- - Shapes per body part are still in.
- Scalp-exposing "flair" to hairstyles, like patterns in a bald head or the sides of a mohawk.
- Move and shape scars like any other pattern.
- Teeth are VERY customizeable now, down to individual sections, or even individual teeth.
- NEW MATERIAL TYPES!!!! Glitter! Carbon fiber! GLOW! BLACK LIGHT!!!
- Logo edges no longer fade, allowing you to wrap the logo entirely around the piece. Will be great for camo and stuff.
- Stitching feature has been redesigned, featuring a library to reuse.
- Can combine 'emboss' with 'transparency' on body art to add a scarification/branding effect with logos.
- Preview different lighting scenarios IN the CAS menu.
- Glow effects can go on logos and hair, too.
- More control over the menu pose.
- - Choose body pose, hand pose, and face pose individually.
- - Can choose to use entrance attire for menu screen pose as well.
- Smaller create-an-arena, including smaller venues, high school gyms, and basketball courts.
- 8 Bit filter on shows is hilarious and cool.
- Highlight reel seems really smooth and easy.
- New videos for various features.
- Alpha masking/transparency options in video editor.
- Custom mach types are in, and you can save them for later.

The 101 has a slowed-down version of the moves video they showed at the end of the above video, so you can see all the cool stuff. It's choppy as shit because of how video processing works, but it gives you time to get an idea and read the moves.

Matt and Jeff Hardy confirmed as DLC... I believe day-one DLC?

EDIT: More DLC news...

- Elias Samson
- Ruby Riot
- Drew McIntyre
- Lars Sullivan
- Ricky Morton
- Robert Gibson
- Beth Phoenix
- Aleister Black

Not sure if that's the full roster or not, but there you have it. A decent crop. Glad it's a little smaller compared to old DLC, honestly.

Rundown of DLC is up here.

I would type it all out, but I don't have the energy. Plus Wight covered most of it already.

General Info
- It looks like the lag issues Chris Denker was talking about aren't present. I watched an 8-woman ladder match and a 30 man rumble and there didn't seem to be issues. These were with actual wrestlers not CAWs, though, so we'll see.
- Kurt Angle can take his straps down.
- Face paint damage for actual wrestlers. No word on CAWs. Unlikely.
- For those who missed it, Universe Mode Details

Creation Suite Megadump
HERE is Chris Denker's creation suite video if you want to watch. He started skipping around after fucking with the face for like ten minutes, so I didn't get to see a lot of upper body/lower body stuff for males. Very lame. The Revelleution on the other hand, went deep-dive into the womens' parts. Lots of the same stuff from last year, but some of it gives me hope.

General
- The part of the object you're deciding color/material for sort of flashes black when you hover over it, eliminating a lot of last year's guesswork.
- 100 Slots confirmed, as per last year. I will assume they share slots with the edited WWE superstars.

Face
- Wrinkles are now under a tab labeled "wrinkles" in the "face" section, instead of being buried wherever the hell they were last year.
- There seem to be a lot of really good new blemishes that might actually get used this year. Some or all of these may have been in last year, but I don't really use blemishes so I can't recall.
- Parts of the face you're adjusting highlight blue so you know exactly what you're working on. Was that in last year? Seems familiar... I played it so much and made so many dudes, you'd think I'd know.
- The preset faces look really good and are gonna give us a lot more options for ethnicities and stuff out the gate.

Body
- Height and Weight can be adjusted independently, and they seem to scale a little more logically.
- Weight still affects your weight class.
- Looks like about 20 different default physiques to adjust your body size in between. Not hard to make a decent fat guy.
- As mentioned before you can still adjust definition/shape/musculature by selecting specific parts as per last year. Seems like a few more parts, too!
- Veins are still in, and there's an intenstiy slider for them. Was there before? I feel like there wasn't...
- Default skin tones look a LOT MORE natural now. Less tweaking needed to have your character look realistic.

General Attire
- Still only two attire slots.
- If you delete a regular attire now, the entrance attire goes with it. Handy, but would be scary if nobody told you. Handily, the game does. Pay attention to those tool tips, kids!
- Looks like a couple new designs for tattoos in the pattern menu.
- It's worth noting as Denker tried on new headgear for his dude, his silly twirly moustache descended further and further into his face... and eventually shoots out of his elbow at EXTREMESPEED. Something I'm sure they'll patch, but keep an eye on it when making your mans.
- MOST stuff appears to be gender neutral, but not all.

Hair
- Looks like most options from last year are back and looking even better!
- Loading is hella faster.
- A fair amount of new styles as well, or at least styles that look enough better that they might as well be new. I'm positive I saw around 20 new cuts AT LEAST tho.
- They're sprinkled throughout.
- Lots of new Superstar hair.
- Lots of great options for women, with various fancy styles and pigtails.
- Hair dying is still sorta imprecise. Wish you could up the speed to finesse it a bit.
- Shave designs are REALLY cool. They're gonna add a lot of flavor to otherwise simple or boring hairstyles.

Face Attire
- Eyes are now adjusted in attire, which means you can change them between different attires, I would expect.
- A few more natural-looking five o' clock shadows and such.
- Scars are separated into "moveable" and "unmoveable".
- Doesn't look like any new default face paint, although they did add in superstar paint like Sting, Goldust, Papa Shango, and the Ascension.

Body Attire
- Body hair have a few more logical options now, that's nice. Still all the crazy stuff.
- Doesn't look like wrestler tattoos are in. Lame. Means I have to put forth effort in making people's tattoos instead of just slapping Randy Orton's on there or something.

Headgear
- There is a lot of kooky new headgear, which I am a fan of. Storm trooper helmet, Ariana Grande bunny ears, Gobbledy Gooker mask, and they finally listened to my request~! PLAGUE DOCTOR MASK! I am so thrilled you don't even know.
- New hooded and high collar clothing looks like only wrestler stuff. Which is still cool.
- A couple new hats.
- A good amount of new masks, including Demolition, Tiger Mask, mummy wraps for your YETAY, a face mask that could easily be the Guy Fawkes/Anon mask.
- One or two new sunglasses that I could tell. Didn't see slotted shades for guys, Denker was whizzing past and didn't bother going to the bottom.
- The string from the monocle now dangles.
- New face scarves and bandanas.
- New hats including stovepipe, bowler, a better kaffiyeh, and more!

Upper Body Attire
- A few new pieces for new superstars, but mostly the stuff from last year.
- Doesn't look like they added any new cut-up Not A Shirt. Hopefully you can put designs on the old Ryback one now...
- Lots of great new superstar jackets.
- A few new hand items, like rings and the such.

Lower Body Attire
- If the women are anything to go by, some really cool new lower body options, especially in pants.
- No ass/crotch capes that I can see, but there is the old "t shirt stuffed down the front of your pants". Women's belts and mens belts don't always have the best overalp though, and this was from the womens' side.

I'll be adding more as I watch it, but I am currently tired of typing.

Been playing since last night, man.

It's a lot better. Even in the ways it's still glitchy, the glitches are a lot more stable. *laughs*

I'm sure they'll always be glitchy though. Just something that comes with a game that comes out every single year.

I saw some people complain online about picking a generic guy to start MyCareer. Then I actually started, and found a bare-bones Colt Riley waiting for me. So now his career is well underway.

So I get a little bit into Career with Ryan Addams. Someone tells me Titus O'Neil is badmouthing me. So I go to the ring and call out Seth Rollins for talking trash, then beat him in a match. So the producer congratulates me on shutting up Goldust. Oookay then.

Also enjoy Road to Glory, a mode where you either wrestle or spam running shoulder blocks until the opponent falls asleep. I have been in several matches where a guy just did like two moves over and over and over. So on one occasion, I put down the controller, did some laundry, came back, and he's still hitting running shoulder blocks.

Career/Road to Glory are kinda lame. Road to Glory would be cooler if the CAW parts you earned in it, you could use outside of career. 100% would play ever PPV if that were the case. Reddit has been losing their minds over all the giltches, especially a bunch in Universe and Career modes.

Thankfully I just usually make CAWs and play regular matches. Still glitchy, but not as absurdly so.

Yes like last year I'm posting in this thread and there is nothing you can do to stop me!

Anyway I bought this... and well... outside of doing a little with the Myplayer haven't played it like at all...

I haven't even mustered up the will to even mess around with the CAW mode yet.
