Ahh, the parking garage…but why are we looking at an empty space? Have I taken up my husband’s habit of asking a lot of questions in this slanty text? Perhaps. Anyhow, we are looking at an empty parking space because the car that was in it left, with Toby in the passenger seat. He was asking Sam about her new car and she decided to prove that it’s fast rather than just tell him and show off paid speeding tickets (only two of them…so far). The cameraman either isn’t aware that he left his camera on or he wants footage of an empty parking space. The camera suddenly turns when the man behind it hears a car coming into the garage and it’s Sam and Toby back from their short trip. She pulls in and shuts off the car, they both get out with what looks like white fast food bags in their hands. Toby is a bit paler than he normally is, his eyes are a little wider than they normally are. Toby: Remind me to never ride with her again. Toby says this to the camera it’s assumable that he’s talking to the man behind it. Sam laughs and shrugs. Sam: I warned him. Toby: Should have believed you I guess… They motion for the cameraman to follow them and there’s a somewhat long walk to locker room inhabited by Sam. It’s decorated like it normally is, but now there’s a smaller sorta mock papasan chair as well as her big one and the folding metal chair. Sam takes a seat in her papasan, Toby takes a seat in the smaller one and the cameraman seems to sit in the remaining steel chair. Toby and Sam dig around in their bags, Sam comes out with one of those big fancy salads like Wendy’s has, she puts dressing on it then closes the lid and shakes it a lot. Toby just has a sandwich and so that takes little preparation. Toby: Back to the interview then. Sam nods. Toby: So last week we saw you go up against Tier, yesterday you went to talk to Swytch. What’s going on with all that? Sam finishes shaking her salad and starts munching while Toby talks, so she holds up her index finger to signal she’ll answer as soon as she manages to swallow her mouthful of salad. Sam: It was mostly explained when I apologized to Tier last night at the gym, I got pissed at him for letting my cat out of the bag, so to speak and I saw Swytch to see if he knew anything about Tier that could be hurtful. Toby: So that’s the entire story? Why did you apologize to Tier so quickly? Sam: I knew I was wrong when it all happened, but I completely lost my control when Tier pinned me, I hardly remember anything after that actually. I remember telling him to never do that…but I don’t really have a clear memory of trying to kick at him, or him lifting me…or even of him holding me by my throat and eventually throwing me. I’m glad I don’t remember it, but I just don’t remember it. Toby nods. Toby: So everything’s okay with you and Bill now? Sam: Yes it’s okay now. Toby smiles and seems glad to hear this…could he have been worried about Bill and Sam? Perhaps, just a little. Toby: Did anything else happen with Tier after the camera went off? Sam: Not really…he watched Bill and Victor…he glanced at me from time to time but I was doing my own work out so I didn’t pay much attention. By the time I was finished Bill was nearly done as well, when he finished up we told Tier bye and went back to our hotel to sleep. Toby: I’m glad you didn’t fight with him again, he’s still kinda scary. Sam laughs and takes a few more bites of her salad. Sam: He can be. Toby: Swytch is still scary…I’m surprised he didn’t try to kill you. Sam: Once I told him what I was there for he seemed to calm down a bit, though I’m still curious how much of him is show and how much of him is real. I would’ve hung around, sorta challenged him but I have a match this week. I don’t want Max to win just because Swytch beat me up. That just wouldn’t be fair. Toby: I don’t think much about Swytch is show…I think he’d kill you…or make you wish he would… Sam shrugs. Toby: So have you seen Max’s promo? Sam nods, chewing. Sam: All he can talk about is El Lobo Loco this, El Lobo Loco that…it’ll be an easy win for me. Toby: Because he’s distracted? Sam: Yep. He’s too busy worrying about if Lobo is going to respond to his challenge to worry about what’s facing him in only a few more days. Toby nods, he had expected Sam’s explanation to be longer so he put some fries in his mouth and is still chewing them. Sam sees this and keeps talking for him. Sam: I was driving once back in Elk City, it was dark and I was looking out for animals that like to run out into the road…like elk, moose, and deer. Anyhow, I was concentrating on the road up ahead of me, not looking directly in front of me. Suddenly I hit something…a deer had managed to get in front of my car while I was looking past him. Max is looking down that road, and I’m the deer. He wont even notice me until I’m right on top of him. Toby: And you’re more dangerous than a deer. Sam: Oh I don’t know about that, those things get mean during mating season…though elk and moose are meaner. Sam finishes her salad and puts the plastic container in the bag it came in and takes a drink of her soda and makes a face. Sam: I’ve not had pop in so long it doesn’t even taste good anymore. She looks toward the camera and again we assume she’s talking to the man behind it. Sam: I only took a drink and I swear I don’t have any strange illnesses. Want it? The camera nods up and down and a hand reaches for the drink, then the sound of soda being sucked up through a straw can be heard. Toby: What happened to all the dark witch stuff you used to do every week? Sam: Oh, I still do it. I just don’t make the dolls near as often anymore because I hardly ever see the point. Elrick’s and Torrie’s were both total wastes of cloth and good herbs, I’m a much better wrestler than either of them. So, I only make the dolls when I feel threatened. Toby: Is that stuff expensive? Sam: Well, it’s just white cotton cloth and the eyes and heart are sewn in with normal string so none of that’s expensive just time consuming if I do it myself, and I always do. The herbs are not expensive when they’re in season, but they are hard to find. In the winter months they get both more expensive and harder to find. Besides that I put in some normal stuffing for stuffed toys and that stuff is cheap too. Toby: Did you make one for Max? Sam: Nope I didn’t. I don’t feel threatened by him normally and that’s lessened now that so much of his attention is on Lobo. Toby glances at his watch then looks back to Sam. Toby: It’s 5:30, you wanted me to let you know. Sam: Oh already!? Thanks Toby, I’ve got to get a move on then. I’m meeting Kevin at 6:00. Toby: You guys have a dinner date? Sam: More like a ‘I want to go shopping and I didn’t bring my car with me’ date. It’s actually more fun than dinner. Toby: Well, it was nice chatting with you and thanks for the snack. Sam: You’re welcome. She looks to the cameraman. Sam: Toby has a sandwich in there for you too, we didn’t forget you, we just didn’t want you eating during the promo. Toby hands the bag over and inside is a sandwich and some fries. Fade. |
