We open in the Palace of Auburn Hills arena. The live audience is quietly awaiting something, who knows what. Maybe this is set in between the Tuesday Night Throwdown you should've already read. Yeah, that's it. The crowd's patience is rewarded as 'Toxic' hit’s the speakers, garnering a mixed reaction from the live Detroit crowd. Madison stands in the entrance way, hands on hip as she stares out at the crowd with a smirk on her face. MA: Ladies and gentleman, please welcome the General Manager of Tuesday Night Throwdown… MADISON LEEEEEEEE!!! JH: It looks as if we're being joined by our general manager Madison Lee. TM: The night wouldn't be complete without her. JH: That's arguable. Madison begins her walk to the ring, politely taking in the praise she is receiving and conveniently blocking out the heat sent in her direction. Stepping under the middle rope, Madison climbs into the ring and accepts the microphone from Michael Anderson. Madison: Yes, it is official. You all have voted me the 2004 General Manager of the Year! The crowd respond in their personal manner. The ones who voted cheer, the ones who voted someone else boo. Madison just smiles and nods her head. Madison: And as General Manager of the Year, I've decided to thank you all by booking a night of champions next week. JH: Night of champions? What's that? TM: A night with champions. JH: Gee, thanks. [/sarcasm] Madison: Next week, emanating live from Mexico City! We will see all four Throwdown championships on the line! But that's not all. Up first, next week will be a return of a former champion. Former Openweight Champion Dez will have his return in a match against Torrie's protégé, Torrence Coleman. We'll see just how well Torrie has prepared her little friend for competition. JH: Can you believe that? The return of Dez. TM: You're the Dez mark. I never liked that kid. JH: Well, regardless, Dez vs. Torrence next week. TM: Now Torrence is someone I'd like to get behind. Madison: Following that match will be the first… two championships on the line. The crowd do the infamous confused murmur. Ha. I like that word. It's funny. JH: First two championships? Madison: Since our Openweight Champion and one half of our Fighting Spirit Champion have gotten all close and cuddly in the past few weeks. I figured why be a bitch and split them up? So next week Openweight Champion Sam Kinloch will team up with her… snuggle bunny, one half of the Fighting Spirit Champion Bill Kuriyama. And they'll be defending their titles in a Double Championship Mixed Tag Team Match. Now let me explain that in full detail for everyone. Madison takes a nifty stroll around the ring in her stunning Manolo Blahniks. Madison: They will face off against the co-owner of the Fighting Spirit Championship El Lobo Loco, and the number one contender for the Openweight Championship Samael. Mixed Tag Rules. That means when Sam Kinloch is in the ring, Samael must be in the ring. And when Bill Kuriyama is in the ring, El Lobo Loco must be in the ring. Two matches, two championships, only one winner. Plain and simple. A polite applaud is received for the match. Earlier though we should've heard some cheers and boos for the proper talent. You know, these people might actually like or hate Bill, Sam, Lobo and Samael. JH: That's a very unique setting, Thomas. TM: Indeed. That means Samael and Sam can't win the Fighting Spirit Title. JH: Correct. And Bill and Lobo can only lose their half of the title if either pins the other. Madison: After that, we have ourselves a contendership opportunity. Bradley Johnson and Brighty will face off for a championship opportunity against the Ultimate Endurance Champion. Who that champion will be… that's to be decided. Because also on the card for next week is an Ultimate Endurance Championship defense between Swytch and Kennedy. A nice crowd pop for the UEC and Kennedy. Even more of a pop for the thought of seeing them face off one-on-one. JH: Kennedy facing Swytch? One on one? That can't be good. TM: Why not? You don't think Kennedy can beat Swytch? JH: Oh, I don't doubt Kennedy's abilities but I don't trust Swytch. That's one crazy S.O.B. Madison: And our final match. We found ourselves with a very interesting couple of weeks behind us. Firstly, we had Vinj forcing the Dual Crown Champion into submission in a tag team match. Then former DC Champion Chris Maclay earned the right to challenge for this championship. So what am I to do? Triple Threat? No, I don't think so. Plus, Jim O'Brien is still suffering the effects of his hyper extension at the hands of Bradley Johnson. A chorus of boos sound throughout the arena. Either for the mention of Jim or the mention of Brad or the mention of no Dual Crown Championship Match. But Madison said four titles so you know something's gonna happen. Madison: Then again, it is the night of champions and what kind of lame-ass night would that be without the Dual Crown Championship on the line? A massive round of cheers for the people in attendance wanting a Dual Crown Title defense. Madison: So, Jimbo. Suck it up and be a champion! Because next week you'll find yourself in something even more difficult than last week's defense. Not a triple threat though. Because while Maclay and Vinj both do have claim to a title match, there's a third contender waiting in the wings. Another murmur (ha, I love it!) from the crowd as they start to speculate. A "Rage" chant seems to find its way spreading through the crowd like wild-fire. Well it does make sense. Rage isn't booked for this show yet and it's a night of champions. Madison lowers the microphone as she hears this and starts shaking her head, getting a bit of heat for the apparent no. Madison: No, no, no. Sorry. Silent Rage has not done anything to deserve a Dual Crown Championship opportunity. The boos intensify as Madison confirms Rage will not be challenging in Mexico City. JH: I have to agree with these fans. If Rage doesn't deserve the shot, who does? TM: That isn't already booked. It's an all-star card next week so far. Bill, Sam, Lobo, Dez, Swytch, Kennedy, Brighty, Mr. Johnson… who am I forgetting? JH: Samael and Torrence. TM: Oh. How could I forget that beauty? JH: Samael? TM: Shut up! Madison: Actually, this contender is someone who made some valid points not so long ago. He hasn't been given his dues at yet. He has victories over the likes of Kennedy, Max Corona, Chris Maclay, and who could forget… Silent Rage. A bit of discussion goes on in the crowd, some are already popping a bit. Madison: And just tonight he… I think he beat Vinj. The jury's still out on it. But he was ruled the winner so if Vinj gets the shot, why doesn't this guy? JH: She's talking about…? TM: It has to be! Madison: Next week will be a fatal four-way championship match between Jim O'Brien *boos*, Chris Maclay *boos*, The Vinj *mixed response* and… the one the only Franchise CARLOS "THE HYPE" KANE!!!! The crowd blow the roof off the Palace for the hometown boy finally getting his dues. Madison lowers the mic, a smile on her face as she nods. JH: Well the Detroit crowd loves it, obviously. I'm not so sure if I agree. TM: Of course you don't! You don't ever agree because you're stupid! Carlos Kane could be our next Dual Crown Champion! JH: Our challengers have quite the opportunity. Remember, Jim's still not 100% after facing Bradley Johnson last week. 'Toxic' plays over the speakers as Madison passes the microphone back to Michael Anderson, retreating to her office while the crowd continue to celebrate. |
