The scene we see is one we’ve not seen in a rather long time, Sam’s locker room all decked out with every candle in the place alive. Sam is pacing in a circle in the center of the room, the four candles and the small representations for each direction are all there the only difference from any other time we’ve seen her in this circle is that it’s bigger and that mostly because she made it for pacing. She is just walking round and round mumbling to herself.

Sam:Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.

Sam bends down and picks up and large clear stone and starts to roll it around in her hands as she talks. For those who might care, it’s clear quartz crystal.

Sam:Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.
For tread the Circle thrice about, to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.
Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honour the Old Ones in deed and name, let love and light be our guides again.

She stops and seems to be thinking, but the words come to her and she starts walking around the circle again.

Sam:Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane, and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane. When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak, then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Sam is fine to keep going but I feel the need to explain a few things. Deosil means clockwise, Widdershins means counter clockwise. Sam is walking Deosil in her circle, casting it and making it stronger with every step.

Sam:Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes, to represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's insight.
Rowan is a tree of power, causing life and magic to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand, ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify, and to draw faerie to your eye.
Hazel, the tree of wisdom and learning, adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree, that brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes grow upon the vine, giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen, to represent immortality seen.
Elder is the Lady's tree, burn it not or cursed you'll be.

Sam sighs and stops for a second, and looks around herself almost like she’s seeing things that aren’t there. A smile crosses her face as she bends and picks up some salt and lets it run through her fingers (salt is in the North).

Sam:Four times the Major Sabbats mark, in the light and in the dark.
As the old year starts to wane, the new begins, it's now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows, watch for flowers through the snows.
When the wheel begins to turn, soon the Beltane fires burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night, power is brought to magic rite.

This time she stops and lights an incense in the East.

Sam:Four times the Minor Sabbats fall, use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule, light the log the Horned One rules.
In the spring, when night equals day, time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it's height, time for Oak and Holly to fight.
Harvesting comes to one and all, when Mabon does fall.

Sabbats are holidays for us. Sam stops in the South and runs her hands quickly through the flame on one of the candles that sit there.

Sam:Heed the flower, bush and tree, by the Lady blessed you'll be.
Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone, the truth you'll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.
With a fool no season spend, or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Three-fold Laws you should, three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow, wear the star upon your brow.
Be true in love this you must do, unless your love is false to you.

Sam is now standing in the West and dipping her fingers in the water then letting the droplets fall back to the bowl where they came from.

Sam:Eight words in Witches Rede fulfil: An Harm Ye None, Do As Ye Will.

She takes a few deep breaths and stands again, looking around a faraway look still on her face. She stands like this for a few minutes, grounding herself then she goes down on two knees, sets the crystal down, and shuffles and deck of cards that went unnoticed until now.

Sam:The Rede allows for achieving the things I want by use of Witchcraft but also says to harm none. This brings a few questions to my mind, things I need to know the answer to.

Sam pauses, almost like she is hearing a voice in her head. Then she lays down a grand total of ten cards. The first six are in something of a cross shape then the others are in a straight line going up at the side of the cross. She looks at the reading for a long while, flips through a book from time to time.

Sam:Those are not the things I needed to know…though they’re helpful.

She cleans up the cards and puts them back in the deck and starts to shuffle them again.

Sam:Tier has come into the lives of Bill and me. Was this chance or a sign?

She lays out three cards and cleans them up much quicker than she did before.

Sam:Is this a sign for me to change my ways?

Sam again lays out three cards and cleans them up quickly. She sighs and places the cards off to one side and moves a gray bag to the front of her.

Sam:Then tell me what’s going on? What I’m not understanding.

She pulls out three small white stones and shakes her head, it seems almost as though she’s getting upset with her answers.

Sam:Why do you keep telling me of the past when I need to know the present!

Her last comment was a near yell, anger and frustration clear in her voice. A light breeze blows through her room, making the flames on the candles dance. That’s more than just a little creepy if you think about it, a breeze in a closed up locker room? Sam is clearly disturbed by this too, her eyes wide and breaths coming faster.

Sam:I’m sorry…that was uncalled for. I’ll just figure things out on my own, like you want.

The four candles around Sam dance for a second then go still again. She seems calmer when they go still.

Sam:…point taken…

She looks around the room, finally her eyes stay on one spot and the camera pans over to see what it is she’s looking at so intently. It’s a small open suitcase, inside there are four cloth beginnings of poppets, stuffing, yarn, herbs, and a small silver knife.

Sam:Decisions, decisions…

Fade.

(OOC: Most of what you are reading here is 'The Witches Rede'. I cant for sure tell you who wrote it because I cant remember if it was one of the things that no one knows the writter to or if Gerald Gardener or Lady Sheba wrote it.)
