Tier stands in a corridor, leaning against the wall. The clap of boots on concrete sounds, growing progressively louder until they stop. A shadow falls over Tier and he turns his head, a light smile on his face, though certainly one of dark deeds plotted. Yessss... Swytch: Scott. Tier: Still dead, am I? Tier doesn't move his gaze from the opposite wall, and keeps his back to the one he's leaning on. If not for his words, you'd think he didn't notice Swytch looming over him. Swytch: Quite alive, Scott. Swytch moves around to face the man. His dull red eyes set upon the face of the man who used to be Tier. His face is blank, void of any expression as he just looks on. Tier's eyes return his gaze... though it's hard to tell, what with the blackness and all. Tier: Of course. Going to see Mz. Lee? Mention to her I'm in the building, would you? I find it amusing when she sends her goons to threaten me. Swytch shifts his weight, adjusting his grip on something in his hand, a dirty burlap sack, clanking softly with every movement. Swytch: Hmmm. Yesss. I'll send her your...regards. His grip loosens on the bag, letting it slide to the floor with a plunk. Swytch: And why is it, Scott, you can be found in the building? Tier: I have business with the federation. I'm training a few wrestlers... building an empire. Brick by brick. You know what I'm speaking of... The corners of his mouth twitch as a half grin, Mona Lisa-esque, partially parts Swytch's lips. Swytch: Ahh, yes. Reliving the past then, are we? Swytch's eyes drop to Tier's knees, stopping there momentarily before returning to the man's face. Swytch: The puppet master now. Tell me, Scott, how it is you hope to create this empire when the bricks are useless or...hate you. Tier: Ohhhh, Swytchboard. Not only do you underestimate my currently misguided students, but you forget I've grown a lot since Madison killed me. I'm a new man. Ressurected, Swytch. The knees are a testament to my rebirth. Tier pushes off from the wall, arms still folded across his chest. He squares up against his former student and looks him up and down. Tier: You seem to have grown quite a bit as well... but you're still falling down, and you can't get up. Is there nothing left to land on? A low growl squeezes through Swytch's now gritting teeth. He tenses, his fists balling up tightly. Swytch: Only the spears of those waiting beneath me. Paying for the sins of the father, Scott...so to speak. Swytch's tensed state fades as he relaxes slightly. His jaw loosens, no longer gritting his teeth or tightening his neck muscles. Swytch: Congratulations on your, Resurrection, Scott...and the new knees. Are they providing you with the strength to catch you fallen protege? The one you dropped in the first place? Tier: Even God makes mistakes, Swytch. Even YOU make mistakes. The devil fell from Heaven, cast by Michael, his brother and friend, but he rose again, Swytch. I was wrong... but now. Tier grins sinisterly. Tier: Now you're starting to drag your way back out of the primordial ooze and LIVE. This isn't like before, Swytch. We have numbers now. Numbers that can buffer our cause much better than any before. They will be mine and stand at my side. The more numbers we have, the quicker the rest fall. Swytch: Ahh, temptation. Next will you make promises to deliver me what I crave? What I've nearly tasted? The one thing I've been closer to taking than you. And oddly, it seems the one thing I'm denied...because of you. Tier: True though that may be, Swytch, you wouldn't be even this far were it not for me. Madison signed your contract, but I found you. I trained you. I created you. I am your father, my perfect sin, and you'd do well not to forget that. Tier calms himself by blinking slowly and rocking his head backward. Tier: You're doing well enough for yourself, Swytch. I return to offer you what should never have been taken away. Humored by the slight rise in Tier's blood pressure, Swytch grins. Just as quickly as Tier calms himself, Swytch's grin fades into a snarl. Swytch: I haven't forgotten, Scott. I'm reminded of it...every...single...day. Every day that I dig myself out of the grave you started for me. The grave MADison continues to bury me in. Swytch goes to speak again, but stops. He pulls back, rolling on his heels as he clasps his hand behind his back. Swytch: Then again. You return and offer your hand to me. To pull me out of my grave. His lips widen with his growing grin. A low humming sound vibrates from his throat as he appears to be thinking about Tier's offer. Tier: I'll leave you to think, child. You will be there when the time comes. Tier steps past Swytch and walks down the hall from whence Swytch came. |
