The San Gabriel Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Why they needed a new Mexico I don‘t know, maybe they forgot where they put the old one, or they lost the keys to it or something, it’s really not important. What is important is the man strolling through this lush and beautiful park, the trees curling over his head and speckling him in dabs of light as he moves along beneath them. That man, of course, is Chris Maclay, formerly the number one contender to the Dual Crown Championship. His arms are tucked behind his back, his face donning a serious expression as the camera moves along in front of him. Maclay: Carlos Kane. The Hype. Everywhere I turn this guy is all up in my business. I’m fighting Max Corona, he’s there. I’m fighting Kennedy, he’s there. Even when I beat him to become the number one contender to the DC, he still manages to worm his way into the match and screw things up for me. It’s starting to get old. Maclay brings his arms back to his sides as he travels through the verdant greenery of the park, a few faceless nobodies jogging past here and there. Maclay: I don’t know why he keeps dogging me. Maybe he thinks I’ll lead him to the Dual Crown, like he wants to ride my coattails to the top or something. And I have no idea how he keeps turning up in matches that really don’t concern him, maybe he’s shagging Madison or something. Who knows, maybe he and JJ take turns. I don’t know, and frankly, I don’t care. He may be “The Hype”, he may be “The Franchise Player”, but in all honesty, I don’t give a crap. He becomes more animated as he talks, waving his arms around as if to paint us a picture of his frustration and annoyance. Maclay: Last week should have been my time. I should of reclaimed what was taken from me so long ago and taken my place at the top of the TNT tower once again. But no. Because Hype and the blunder from down under had to go and get themselves involved. If it weren’t for their presence in that match, we’d have a new Dual Crown Champion right now. A true Dual Crown Champion. One who deserves the title and won’t lose it to washed up Aussie drunkards on their way out of the industry. His intensity flows through his words and flashes bright in his eyes as he speaks of his failed attempt to capture TNT’s top title, and of the men he blames for his failure. Maclay: So this week I have to face him yet again. Maclay versus Kane, one on one. So what is this? Revenge? A grudge match? Maybe watching the two of us throw each other around gets Maddy all hot in the panty region, I don’t know. And once again I don’t care. Hype got in my way last week, he’s been getting in my way for a while now and it’s time I put a stop to it. Put a stop to him. Next week, right here in Albuquerque, in whatever God forsaken arena they’ve got us booked in this time, Kane and Maclay will face off once more. Now I could be Mr. Cliché and go on about how he’s going to pay for what he’s done, how I’m gonna kick his ass, lay the smack down on him, all that general smack talking crap. But I’m not. He comes to a stop at a point where the dirt path he was walking connects with the main pavement of the park. He once again places his hands behind his back as the camera continues to travel backwards despite the fact that it’s quarry has ceased it’s movement. Maclay: Anything I say now has been said before, and will no doubt be said again. So I’m gonna shut up, and take my trash talking directly to Kane in the form of a suplex or two. By Wednesday morning, the Hype, will be well and truly over. The camera continues it’s backwards journey as Maclay simply stands his ground, his hands firmly planted behind him and his eyes glaring into the lens as it moves further and further away, until it finally fades to black. |
