We fade in to a sultry blue backdrop of a room. In the room is a table and two chairs. Both chairs have occupants, and the table has two drinks on it. On one chair, sits Mark Deveraux. His drink of choice is a slightly feminine drink, with it being vodka and diet Coke. Opposite him, sits Dez, whose drink is slightly more stronger, what with it being whisky and all. Mark looks up to the camera

Mark: Hello TNT fans, and welcome to yet another exclusive interview conducted by me, Mark Deveraux. This is the second in a series of exclusives, designed to let us get to know FIW's only Scotsman just a little bit better. Dez, thank you for being here

Dez: Pleasure, always

Mark looks down at his clipboard, carefully choosing the first question

Mark: So, after your returning win this week on TNT, do you feel...more secure, shall we say?

Dez: What do you mean...more secure?

Mark: Well you seemed a little on edge before you went out on Tuesday. Has this win settled your mind somewhat?

Dez: Well thats a better question. Definetly. I mean, Tuesday before I went out, I was shaking. Ask Alicia, ask anyone who seen me before I went out for the match, I was absolutely chalk white all day Tuesday. But, I did as I said I was going to, so yeah, it's definetly put my mind at ease. I'm just glad nothing serious happened during the match this week

Mark nods, looking down at his clipboard again, while Dez takes a drink

Mark: So the subject of our interview this week is inspirations and influences. What first inspired you to get into the sport of wrestling?

Dez: Well I guess I got into wrestling around the time of the Attitude era in WWF...wait will FIW get sued for me saying that? Ach well, said it now. But yeah, thats pretty much when I got into it. But then I realised there was much better stuff soon after, and I started buying old tapes, and Japanese tapes and stuff

Mark: Cool. So who would you say were your biggest influences?

Dez: I never really had any, I wanted to have my own style. But if I had to pick a few, I'd say probably Ric Flair, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko. The Horsemen in WCW was what really got me into the technical side of wrestling. I guess you could say I was influenced by Raven before them, when I wanted to be all crazy and hardcore. But yeah, Flair, Benoit and Malenko are my main influences

Mark: Some good choices there, I must say... *mumbling*in more ways than one...ahem. So how did your wrestling career start out?

Dez eyes Mark a bit suspiciously before answering the question

Dez: Ummm...yeah...there was this wrestling school in Toronto that I went to. I was good, but I wasn't good enough to get picked to go to Stu Hart's dungeon, so I went travelling round the indy feds. There's some good wrestling trainers in Canada, you know. It isn't a bad country whatsoever, you dumb Americans

Mark: O...kay. Umm...so yeah, how did you first get into FIW?

Dez: *shrugs* I guess some scouts came down to one of my indy shows, liked what they seen and offered me a contract. There isn't any funny story to go with it or anything, I just got a phone call from Richard Bradley one day asking me if I wanted to sign up, and I said sure

Mark nods, pausing to take a sip of his drink

Mark: So aside from wrestling, you have a career in music, don't you?

Dez nods

Mark: Tell us how that came about

Dez: To be honest, I'm a musician first, wrestler second, I've only just started to get into the recording studio and stuff. I got into bass when I was around nine, I could play keyboards since I was about seven, and I only got into guitar some time last year. I moved into producing when it came round to doing my first album and I wanted to do some remixes of my favourite tunes

Mark: That album came out towards the end of your last stint in FIW, did it not?

Dez: That's right, it's self-titled, if you wanna go buy it. I believe it's on sale at HMV, so you should be able to pick up a decent album cheap, hehe. Don't worry, my second album will be much better

Mark: So are there any plans for this second album?

Dez: Yeah, I'm going into the recording studio next month. I'll be doing all the vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards and production on the record. I can't do drums for shit, so I've got my mate from Muse, Dominic Howard doing the drums

Mark: Who would you say influences you most on the musical side of things?

Dez: Too many to name, Mark, too many. I like the most hardcore of bands, from Alexisonfire to Refused, to the softest rock bands you'll find, such as Belle And Sebastian. But like I said, there are really too many to name

Mark nods again, checking his watch

Mark: Well, I'm sorry but that's all the time we have for just now. We didn't quite get to discussing your upcoming match this week, but we just ran out of time

Dez: No worries, I can easily cut another promo

Mark: Well, thanks for being here, and from me, Mark Deveraux, goobye!
