As it goes with the show, once again we did a great job. I loved Steve's writing in the McConnaigh tag, the way he wrote Finn's hot tag gave me flashbacks of Cesaro. I dig it! I didn't expect to win the match, but I do know Lita and I have some fun ideas for this little storyline arc that I hope you guys will enjoy.

Admittedly when I saw some similarities in Finn and Cesaro's movesets, I watched a Cesaro & Kidd tag match as inspiration. So yeah some of the stuff was ripped off for the match. :P For instance the back and forth lariats, was Cesaro with the uppercuts.

I'd love that to be a regular move Finn does.

And honestly, Cesaro and Kidd are a big inspiration for how I'm running the boys now. The pop up assisted European is another move ive seen them do.

I do want to say thank you for all the kinds words for the Lucas interview so far. I was concerned because it was pretty long and had a lot of verbal fellatio of Jim O'Brien (who, I'm starting to get the feeling has "go-away" heat already). In terms of Lucas feeling real and authentic... well, do you listen to people when they talk? They mumble, stutter and say "um" a lot. :P One of the things that bugs me about WWE (and I'm bringing them up because, at one point another, we've all watched Raw and I think it's safe to say that their production and presentation of has influenced us, as writers, in one way or another) is that Raw and Smackdown are just so sanitized and contrived and clean. There's no emotion or authenticity. "But wrestling's fake, hurr durr durr." Watch a Ric Flair promo on Eric Bischoff and tell me that's fake. That's why I watch mostly from the 80s up to the mid 90s, because most of the stars in that timeframe were in their primes when people still believed wrestling was real, so the Flairs, Dustys, Funks, and Andersons of the wrestling world had to present themselves, whether it be in matches or in promos, in a believable manner. Otherwise, a couple blown spots could really hurt, or even kill, a territory because the people didn't believe in it anymore. Anyway, I'm really droning on...

But thank you for the kind words. I think if you look at it through the lens of a wrestling promo or even a wrestling interview it's not all that good. But if you compare it to an interview you would see on 20/20 or Sportscenter or 60 Minutes, I think it's pretty good.

I do want to say one last thing on the roleplay judging front, and then I won't mention anything again - I'm willing to cut Steve some slack because IMO roleplay judging is harder now than it's ever been in FIW. Nobody here sucks. There are no easy wins anymore. This isn't like 2004 when we had two brands and anywhere between 25-40 handlers. I mean, hell, how many of the handlers here have won the Dual Crown (and the NGIW title for that matter)? And honestly, I feel like 2/3rds of the handlers here could write a Dual Crown Championship winning roleplay (with the right character of course - sorry, but I just can't write an Anastasia Grimm roleplay that could probably win a match at this point, let alone win the DCC :P ). So, just give Steve a break once in awhile. I f things don't work out the way you want them, talk it over with Steve and I'm sure you'll be able to hash things out.

^ This.

I know I was the one who asked if we could talk about something else but I just wanna piggyback off this for a moment. Something was mentioned earlier in the thread about the Revenants and Nemesis all writing A+ material this week.

I get that I voted Revenants and Nemesis, so I agree with the quality output. However, I just want to say that there are weeks where EVERYONE writes A+ material. There are weeks where some people BELIEVE they wrote A+ material but it just doesn't click with the reader. It's a depressing moment when that happens, trust me, I have been on that end of it before. Sometimes I sit there thinking "How the hell did I lose this week?!" and it sucks big time. As hard as it is, you just have to accept that one of two things happened (1) Steve made a mistake (:P Hehe, he admitted it so it's cool) and there's nothing that can be done about it now or (2) your aim was a little off the target despite feeling really good about it... and there's still nothing that can be done about it now.

But by all means, please contact Steve in either situation. Let him know how you feel. He can only admit that he was wrong and apologize or explain to you what you could have done better. None of us are published auth--err, very few of us are published authors. We've been at this a long time but everyone is growing and getting better all the time that it's now a requirement to keep getting better if we want to keep up. Something that worked so great in the past (*cough*JimOBrien*cough*) might now not have the same shine it had once upon a time (*cough*JimOBrien*cough*) and Steve will let you know if it's not working for him. Also, you're welcome to contact me at any time. I don't make the final call but I am not afraid to be completely honest about my judging thoughts if anyone wants to know about them.

And now I'll shut up.

FYI: I'm kidding. Jim O'Brien is still shiny and new! :D

Again, ^ this. It's something that's popped up so frequently in my e-fedding career that after I wrote this thread on how to specifically cater your RPs to my tastes (which people had been asking for so much at the time I finally caved) I added an addendum. I'll quote it, here, because I feel it said things really well.

OK, so here's the thing that I don't think people always... get about e-fedding. I mean, you'd think they would... but AT LEAST 2 of 5 shows in a PPV cycle I will have someone get super upset that they didn't win. There's a lot of reasons somebody might be mad they lost, or sad, or discouraged. That's normal. But even still, I think there's something many do not realize...

YOU WILL OFTEN LOSE.

Why is this? Is it some sort of divine celestial alignment against you? Are you awful at e-fedding? Are you just not good enough for my standards?

The first is unlikely... the other two? Well, they happen. But they're also pretty unlikely. Especially given what I've seen this week. Each and every one of you has the ability to defeat anyone on this roster. Perhaps it's a potential you've not yet realized... and perhaps some extenuating circumstances are required for it to be a reliable victory... but it can happen. So it's not you.

It's also not me. I don't do the whole manipulation thing. I've never gotten my kicks by making other people suffer under my thumb. I am not a sadist. I would always rather create a good story and lead people to a better future than fuck over or torture someone I don't like. I'd honestly rather that person just not be around me because I don't like drama and I don't like dealing with shitty people. I might fuck up. In fact, I do, now and then. That's on me, but it's not like it's something I can do on purpose. All I can do is try my hardest not to make mistakes in the future.

The problem might be on you, that's something to consider. Did you RP enough? Did you try your hardest? Did you work with your opponent? Did you keep focused? Did you follow my suggestions earlier in this thread? Did you RP well before the deadline? You certainly don't have to do all of these, but each of them help.

But you know what the most likely result is? The biggest reason you lost the match?

ONE OF THE PEOPLE IN THE MATCH HAD TO LOSE SO THE OTHER PERSON COULD WIN.

Look, the other guy did better. I'm sorry. For whatever reason, I liked their shit better. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU DIDN'T DO GOOD. But it means they did better and ONE OF YOU HAS TO WIN.

I mean, shit, I could make every match a draw if both people RP well, but... christ, nothing would happen. It wouldn't be fun. It would barely be an e-fed. It'd just be a lame hugbox.

What else would you expect me to do in that scenario?

If you have an idea, I'd love to hear it. But... I kinda doubt you do. There was a situation years ago where I secretly made a bunch of dummy characters that were basically there to make people feel better about themselves whenever possible, but that literally had me roleplaying like, half a dozen characters for the explicit purpose of making people feel better. I mean, people liked that. They were happier with themselves. But it was driving me NUTS. Plus everybody got SUPER-ENTITLED so that when they DID lose to an actual person, it was the end of the world.

Instead of focusing on the fact that you LOST... focus on what you can do from here on out. Does the match give you storyline opportunities? Does it give you a chance to RP about something interesting for next week? Does it make your character more interesting? Does it give you some insight into how you could do better in the future?

Try to take something positive away from the situation instead of just focusing on the fact that you have another tally mark in the "loss" column. Even if it's a title loss.

Everybody loses eventually.

Title reigns end.

It happens.

What really matters is what you do with yourself after a loss. Because I can guarantee you I'm more likely to push somebody who loses gracefully than someone who sulks or throws a fit.

That's, again, something from NGIW's heyday. Obviously I don't run FIW and I only recently started helping judge matches, but I'm pretty sure it stands in basically any fed like FIW/NGIW.

As Lita said, I'm perfectly happy giving my feedback on characters if it's directly asked for. I don't post in feedback threads and I don't put it in the show feedback thread because I have a tendency to be brutally honest and cause fights because people don't like my opinion. But if you want it, I'll give it.

If I may add a little something to the discussion, there's one little thing should be taken into account: In the years that I've RPed, a lot of people had their own comfort zones. Some were better comedic writers, some were better dramatic writers. They knew this, and stuck to what they were more comfortable with. For the longest time, I focused more on comedy, but I found that I was quite adept at writing more serious characters. However, I wouldn't have realized that unless I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried my hand at it.

My advice to any RPers who are entirely new or experienced ones who are in a slump? Venture away from your comfort zone once in a while. Experiment. Take creative risks. Think outside the box. The more chances you take, and the more you try, the more versatile an RPer you'll become. :)

Segments are supposed to break up the matches, and with RATC being a match heavy show, not only could we use writers but we could use segments.

I enjoyed the show a lot this week and holy shit there was a ton of segments. I finished my two segments late and it was quite a bit of work trying to find space before I said screw it and just added in the second segment on the FIW.com thread and tweaked it to say it was after the show because there was absolutely NOWHERE to fit it in on the show sensibly. If Steve or anyone else can find a place for it, then I'm all for it but yeah, I really doubt it could really fit anywhere so post-show exclusive seems like the most sensible.

Glad those that read it enjoyed it, and yes Mad Dawg could probably go all night with the Kim Coulter cracks.

Holy shit, what the hell did I miss though? Now I feel like I gotta go back and read some of the RP's so I can at least wonder what the hell whirlwind I just walked into...

On wins and losses, I am in 100% agreeance (not sure if that's a word but I'm using it anyway) with Wight's post just above. Unless it's a match with major title implications, I don't really see how wins and losses on ReVolt/Fallout matter all that much. Sure it sucks to take a loss and even more if you've got multiple guys losing the same night but as long as you're given a somewhat "good loss" to where you have something to build from, you've got to just dust yourself off and move onto the next week and use what you can out of it. Steve's got a rough enough job as it is, I should know, I was in his shoes with a lot of the same people here and it wasn't easy choosing between two top notch performances then so I know it has to be even rougher now with some of the additions.

With summer over I'll be able to read stuff a little more thoroughly so I should be able to start helping out in voting once again though.

Anyways here's my breakdown...

Psycho Dragon Vs. McGinnis - I want to start by saying I love PsyDrg's entrance. Very cool and original with using the GIF's. Good match and congrats to Psy on the win albeit by DQ. I do agree that I somewhat question the reason for the DQ and it probably would have came off better if Psy had caused Pain to come out. But at the same time, it being Havoc does make sense as far as storyline goes so I do understand.

Mungrel/Kim - Really enjoyed how these two played off each other and I gotta say I can't wait until Kim kisses that guitar. ^_^

Blink/Pet - Interesting bit here and I would say 'poor Blink' but yeah she kind of deserves what she gets at this point.

4R Vs. McConnaighs - As Tag Team Champions, I am ANGRY that I took the loss. Naw, I'm kidding, I thought I had a shot to win but Will did pretty good so I was definitely prepared for either outcome. I did like that they looked incredibly strong through out the match though, it felt like they were controlling damn near the first 75% of the match (which I'm not going to lie was starting to prepare me that they were about to lose). So this was all good with me (loved the "where the inbred lands, nobody knows" comment too) I will say I hope the McConnaighs don't jump on board just for the fact that it just seems awkward having faces in an essentially heel group. I felt The Summit never gelled because of this and I just feel like having too much of a face presence hurts the credibility of a heel stable.

Eversol busts a nut segment (is that what I call this?) - Umm..okay...moving on now...LOL

Lucas Interview Pt. 1 - Very insightful bit to get to know the character and just when I was getting into it we had a very cool interruption (who I'm assuming would be PsyDragon with the "press play" gimmick).

Terri - Cool seeing her still around and being her usual bitchy self. Gonna enjoy her chase for that Hellcats title.

Camila Vs. Lilith - Nice match with Camila really heeling it up. Congrats to Camila on the W!

Catherine/Kim - Very interesting situation with these two. Had me on the edge of my seat and waiting for Catherine to give her a big "fuck you". Really think the story between these two is going to seriously take off.

Immaculate/Julie - Threw this in here to set up what would be the post-show exclusive just in case anyone was interested in checking it out.

Triple Threat Main Event - Very good match and all three guys looked great. Liked how Bloodbath picked the bones to get the win. He's on a hell of a run...gonna make it even sweeter when I knock him off of it. :D

Roy/Darian/Rufus segment - Another very interesting story we've got going here. Roy and Darian definitely play well off of each other

Cage Vs. Havok - Quick but good one and Havok's got a shit ton of momentum going into RATC. Cody might wanna look out, he's got a tough one on his hands.

Cage interview - Oooh Hair Vs. Career...can't wait! ;)

Nathaniel/Mercedes - K, I'm thinking some of us need laid round here. First the Eversol thing and now this, I'm starting to wonder if this is all slow burning into one giant orgy.

Pet/Blink - Poor Bli--oh wait, I already commented on that earlier.

8 Cat Tag Match - Very good match and a to of drama with the Catherine-Blink-Kim situation from earlier. And holy shit she actually did it! Team Mercedes still gets the win though and Kim may have something to worry about, unless there really is an orgy still being slow burned.

Lucas Interview Pt. 2 - Even more gold from Jim. Definitely was cool getting to know more about Lucas and great to know him and Anastasia will be tagging again soon.

Catherine/Blink - Well that was a tad awkward...

Quincy Vs. Mungrel - Both guys I think came out looking good in this one and congrats to Mun on the win.

Eversol/Alexander - Nice little lead-in to the main event and it has been fun seeing the tension between the two. I do know I don't see both guys staying around in the crew for too long.

6-Man Tag Main Event - Very cool match and LOL'ed with Nathaniel calling Steel the team leader when Nemesis started the match. Surprised the Crew won given the competition but I think everyone came out looking pretty good.

Sorry for double posing but this came up after I had already stated writing my review. But I couldn't agree more with this point. I never thought I could really run Mad Dawg as a face before. I had one unsuccessful run several years ago but I had plans from the beginning for him to turn back and I just always felt he could only be face. But going outside that comfort zone, I think I've probably had more fun playing him in this light than I had before. So yeah, I fully agree with Dragon on this point here.

I think we can all agree, sometimes... It just becomes the heat of the moment. Passions and tempers flare, sometimes ya just gotta blow off a little steam and let it be known you truly believe in your craft. We all know losses are inevitable, but sometimes you get so into it that you believe you're Vince McMahon himself! Also, it doesn't help matters when the results could seem distorted because of shenanigans. I will agree that things have gotten a lot more competitive and evenly matched over the years making every win earned.

Ultimately... It's all about the god dang rasslin. Talkin about the R-A-S-S-L-I-N, that's rasslin.

Slightly late feedback again. Sorry about that. This was an awesome show and I agree it was definitely a segment-heavy show, but that didn't hurt it at all. Overall the show in itself was awesome and a great lead-in to RATC. Here's the detailed feedback.

ReVolt

Cody McGinnis © vs Psycho Dragon
The Other Steve always talks about the commentary I include in the matches I write, but this time it's my turn to do the same. Lol. The commentary for this match was awesome and the match itself was great too, and that Harlem Shake at the end from Havok legitimately made me laugh just picturing it. Awesome stuff in this match.

Mungrel/Kim Coulter Segment
This was a really good segment. I love how Kim was playing up Nathaniel's abilities while Mungrel basically kept implying that the entire Coulter Crew are the Dual Crown champions and not Alexander himself, since he's had quite a lot of help in keeping it lately. Lol. And then the seemingly subdued intensity (oxymoron, I know, but it was there. I seen'd it) from Mungrel after showing Kim the guitar was great.

Pet & Blink Segment
This was a cool way to lead into the segment with Stephen Eversol, Blink and Pet (which I read when I skimmed ahead after seeing it was part of the feedback, lol.) If I hadn't known about that segment ahead of time, this segment would have left me wondering exactly what Pet was up to with Blink. Regardless, this was really good.

4R © vs The McConnaighs
I've been a big fan of the McConnaigh's since NGIW and it's cool to see the storyline revolving around them potentially joining the Coulter Crew. I agree with The Other Steve that if that happens, it'll be getting into nWo numbers with the amount of members. I could also see it happening in the sense of the amount of power they'd potentially have too. :P Lol. But yeah, Steve did a great job with this match

Stephen Eversol, Pet & Blink Segment
This segment was hilarious, and I like how Eversol and Alexander basically reacted the exact same way, proving that they just might have more in common than they want to admit. Lol. Great job Jo and The Other Steve on this segment.

Jonathan Hitchen interviews Lucas Bergeron Part 1 & 2
I'm putting the feedback for both parts together for this segment, even though it was split in two. Seph is absolutely right in that this interview is something that should definitely be read in full and I definitely agree that it felt very realistic like the JR/Foley interview or even the JR/Triple H interview from 1999. The interruption in the middle also added some realism in it as well and the way Jonathan and Chip reacted to that interruption. Great stuff.

Terri Golde Promo
This was a really cool segment showcasing Terri wanting to have that spot that Mercedes has. I have a feeling I know what's coming next, and if I'm right, it'll be awesome to see it happen. I could easily see a triple threat feud building out of this segment and the feud between Kim and Mercedes.

Camila Martinez vs Mistress Lilith Lovecraft
Like I had mentioned last week, I really like the stuff coming from Camila since her debut and I'm definitely looking forward to more. Sucks that there was no showing from Lilith Lovecraft for this match. The match itself was really well-written as well.

Kim Coulter & Catherine Neville Segment
Wow, this was a great segment showing Kim exerting her power over Catherine, putting her in a tougher spot than maybe she originally anticipated? It'll be interesting to see how Catherine reacts stemming from this.

Bloodbath McGrath © vs Cyrus Boone vs Johnny Amazing
Ya know, when I first started writing this match, I was afraid I'd bitten off more than I could chew, but it turned out better than I thought it would at first. Glad to see people liked the way it turned out; hopefully that extends to the participants in this match. It was definitely a lot of fun to write, once I got past the initial worry and started following the flow of the match. Hopefully I gave everyone what they felt was a good amount of offense and made everyone look good. I definitely wanted to convey Bloodbath as a beast given that he's the UIC champ, but in doing so, I didn’t want to make Cyrus or Johnny look bad in contrast. So, I did my best to make everyone look strong.

Fallout

Roy, Brittany, Rufus & Darian Segment
Damn, even Rufus is showing he's a ruthless asshole, (as if he hadn't already proven it before) basically calling Brittany a dog and then he and Darian talking about their "boys only" club. Lol. This was an awesome segment and only continues to pull me into the storyline between Roy and Darian.

H@VOK vs Cage Murdock
This was a really quick read, but it was a good one and I gotta say I really liked the character building RP's that Seph did with Cage leading up to this match. The fear of clowns thing was a really interesting twist and it easily raised the question of "how is he supposed to wrestle this match if he's afraid of clowns?" without actually coming right out and asking the question. That's good writing there. I think this match capitalized well on that too, including Havok taking the win.

Cage Murdock Segment
I liked the intensity that Cage showed in this segment and showing that he's focused on taking Ramsi out of the game completely. I've seen hair vs. hair matches before, but I don't think I've seen hair vs. career matches in wrestling. Lol. It should be interesting to see how that plays out at RATC.

Mercedes Blackwell/Nathaniel Alexander Segment
I gotta give credit where it's due here; The Other Steve wrote pretty much the entire segment, but then he asked me if I wanted to add anything and I couldn't resist. The last line at the end had to be done; how dare she leave Nathaniel hanging like that?! Lol. This segment was a lot of fun to write…at least the dialogue and the few bits of narration that I wrote into it. The Other Steve nailed the rest of it and got Nathaniel's reactions and everything down perfectly.

Pet & Blink Segment

Pet: Holly? Holly, keep crying if we're still friends.

Lol, that line specifically made me laugh as did the last line. This was a good segment showing Blink's reaction to the whole thing with Stephen Eversol and Pet failing miserably at defusing the situation. Lol. Really good, simple segment from Jo.

Kim Coulter & The Tea Party vs Mercedes Blackwell, Brittany, Pet & Blink
It was tough for me to get 3 people enough offense to look good in a triple threat; I can only imagine four people in a tag match. This was an awesome match and I think it definitely gave everyone enough time to shine and I think having Mercedes get the pin in this match was another notch in her belt that she definitely deserved. Great job with this match.

Quincy Wilson vs Mungrel
Quote:

CM: "Sometimes you gotta rebuild brick by brick, so he's going to tear down Mungrel's house for supplies!"

That was a great line and I think it really gave a good idea of what was going on in this match. After losing the FSC, Quincy basically had to rebuild himself and that's what he did here. This was a really fun match to read and I like the way Quincy was portrayed as a beast despite having lost the match.

Nathaniel Alexander & Stephen Eversol Segment
Truth be told, this segment was written for a couple reasons. The main one being that The Other Steve and I noticed we didn't mention anybody we were facing off against in our RP's and we honestly felt like crap about it, so we wanted to add something to the show in hopes that it would help rectify that. And the slightly less important, but nonetheless still important reason was to put over the fact that Alexander and Eversol still have trouble coexisting and Alexander was basically making one last ditch effort to make it work…sort of.

The Coulter Crew (Nathaniel Alexander, Stephen Eversol, & Jimmy Steel) vs The Revenants & Nemesis
And the only reason I say sort of in that last one is because of this match, lol. The way Alexander was portrayed in this match was awesome, playing up the "chicken shit heel" aspect of having Jimmy and Stephen wrestle most of the match and then stealing the victory. I was glad to see Sid used the idea I'd asked of him to have the Coulter Crew's entrance using the Blue Label Society's (Eversol and Alexander)'s old music in NGIW. This was an awesome match overall and I agree with Will that the Revenants are a great team and they definitely have the "douche bag heel" shtick down perfectly in contrast to Alexander and Eversol's "classic heel" shtick that I've been told we have. Lol.

That, good sir, is Glen Goza in the ring singing R-A-S-S-L-I-N.

For the life of me I can't seem to embed YouTube videos here, so I wasn't able to post the actual video of him.

Funny Nate should mention the never before seen match. What with the Ascension To Hell Match, Hair vs Career, Contract On a Pole, I'm just trying to give FIW a more diverse match scenario, I'm always looking to innovate something involving legos and bare feet. >_>
