Will be quick, since work in a couple minutes. Sigh. Thought the Catherine/Mercedes match was good. Nice mixture of work between the two and even with Catherine's win it didn't diminish Mercedes' holding of the belt any. ![]() Costume contest was fun. Happy to see my ideas get in there with Pet "charming" Blink then trying it with Brittany. Plus Terri's part and Blink's reaction to her costume was rather priceless. And then there's always one that doesn't want to partake. Boo! Ending was alright with Kellyn showing off her monster style. Really enjoyed working on the segment between Kim and Catherine. Poor Catherine, she's like the little girl running home saying "Mommy! Mommy! Look what I got!" before she's told "go away before you give mommy a migraine." Oh well, maybe one of these days Kim can be happy to see Catherine. ![]() Party on, Joe. ~eat snacky smores~ |
![]() Follow Pet's Twitter if you don't mind...you know, Pet being Pet. Also, she tends to mention it a fair bit. (NSFW) @ThePetFBGP | |

Not bad, everyone. Should be interesting to see how things shake out with a couple of those "treats." And good reign, Wighty, even if I was only here for the last couple of weeks of it. |

Certain themed versions of ReVolt are great, but I've always liked Halloween and Hallowe'volt. The trick or treat matches are usually fun, sometimes random, yet can lead into feuds or other matches down the line. I've grown to like more and more Sid's style of writing. He seems to definitely have a better grasp on all the characters he writes. The addition of new articles weekly for the FIW.com section of the forums is awesome. I loved the short details Billy/Marc used to do for shows to kinda explain certain matches and feuds that were going on. I like that this is in the same vein, and allows you to see matches that are upcoming. Did not expect some of the things that occurred on this show. And the pairing of The Revenants with Tier this week is an interesting situation. Similar to when they were paired with Nemesis. I hope to get a thread going between myself, Seph, and Wight. If only to get some interaction and rely on my tag partners this week. Got a fair bit happening between a new job, a friend's concert on Friday, and a wedding to attend on Halloween. Also... NEO C is on the ReVolt poster this week! Hope everyone has a festive time this weekend and stays safe! Watch a horror movie or two on me. Trick 'r Treat is always a good'un.

Trick or Treat Segments: Sid All of these were short and to the point. I liked them that way. There didn't need to be long drawn-out segments and it helped make them a surprise even to the match writers. Kim Coulter & Suzanne Schwartz In-Ring Promo: Lita I just wanted to get something in the show with Kim making a huge deal about the Nathaniel/Nemesis match. Of course she'd make a scene in the ring. I like having Suzanne constantly be the foil to Kim as well. Welcome to FIW Match High Velocity vs. Jonny Hardkore Writer: Bleak Jonny Hardkore is so damn entertaining. It made High Velocity look rough as heck and I loved seeing that. This was a great debut match for both characters as Velocity got a great debut victory and Hardkore was pure entertainment. Jack-O-Lantern Match Harley Torres vs. Poe Writer: Lita I enjoyed writing this more than I thought I would. I was kind of hoping for some feedback as I did struggle a bit with Poe. I'm not sure I wrote him accurately. I hope Wight was OK with the finish. I just loved the image in my head of Harley letting Poe drag him around the ring while he blew out the candles and re-lit them on the way. I'm really enjoying the 10/31 and Brick Sharks interactions. Trick or Treat Match Oliver Brandon vs. Stephen Eversol Writer: Nate Did we lose Doomed? This is two weeks in a row that he no-showed Oliver Brandon, right? Nice to see a victory for Eversol, though. I already liked Eversol a lot but I'm starting to really love the character. I feel like Bleak is really in his character's head now. Before he had a good grasp on him but now it feels like Bleak has completely got into the driver seat of this character. The only match-writing critique I have is that I think Nate and Bleak both are locked into old school writing. The matches are longer than they need to be. Now, there's nothing wrong with that if that's what you guys want to write. They're great matches! I just don't want you guys to get burnt out or struggle to write too much every week. A couple paragraphs that summarize the action would be perfectly fine. Again, though, there's nothing wrong with what either of you two have been writing for us. Pumpkin Patch Match Darian Gray vs. Jinx Writer: Lita This match was surprisingly fun! I loved writing Darian as a little coward and Jinx eager to do violence. The idea of the pumpkin on Darian's head followed by a shot from Pow-Pow came to me as I was writing and I just couldn't wait to use it. Hope it was OK. I loved the aftermath to this. Sid mentioned it to me when I picked this up and I did my best to capture his instructions. I was told to have Darian cheapshot at Shark and I could just see Darian slapping the bruised side of Caleb's face to be a major dick. Kim Coulter & Catherine Neville Segment: Lita & Jo I love writing Kim to intentionally be a bitch to Catherine. It's so fun. Monster Mash Battle Royal Cody McGinnis vs. Mad Dawg vs. Nemesis vs. Nick Riot vs. Psycho Dragon vs. Scratch vs. Terry McGuire Writer: Sid I voted for Mad Dawg so I'm glad to see him win! Sad to see nothing from PsyDragon. Great stuff from Nick Riot! I was impressed with such a strong showing in the RPs. Sad that Cody didn't show up until late in the game. Scratch with the Sharks is always fun. Nemesis was his usual awesomeness. But Mad Dawg is the one who had my attention. Marc is so good with that character and I'm really loving him more than usual lately. Trick or Treat Match Jimmy Steel vs. Johnny Amazing Writer: Bleak You damn dirty Steel! Haha. I loved this match and I love the Steel/Amazing rivalry. It's so perfect and I love when a rivalry comes together so naturally like this. The victory prize that Steel got was hilarious too. I could see him pissed off that he beats Johnny and ends up with a piece of candy. Trick or Treat Match Catherine Neville vs. Mercedes Blackwell Writer: Lita I'm glad Jo was happy with how Catherine was written in this. She's much easier to write against women, but I understand that's not where Jo really wants her to be. Still, fun match to write. I hope Bleak is OK with how Mercedes was handled in this match, same for Adam with the Tea Party. I have to say that I am really loving this Mercedes/Helena feud that has sprung up so suddenly. I can't wait for their match at ReVolt Against the Champions. Revenants & Cage Murdock In-Ring Segment: Seph Great return segment for Neo. I always like Neo addressed the crowd in the ring. I think he's better when he's just ranting than when he's mouthing off back and forth with someone. And there was a Keith Williams sighting. You know I love that. ![]() Trick or Treat Match Keith Williams vs. Mungrel Writer: Sid A great match between two of my favorite characters. Keith getting sexually harassed and hating it was actually a nice twist on the character. I laughed quite a bit reading this match and imagining Keith's reactions. Happy to see a Keith victory. He's been on a good roll the past few weeks and Kyle has been killing it in his RPs. I like seeing early Keith works because it generally means we'll get more than one RP with him in the week. Again, I cannot wait for Keith Williams' ReVolt. I'm anxious to hear any ideas that Kyle might already have cooked up for that show. Plenty came to my mind, so I'd love to see if any of it falls in line with what Kyle has come up with. Hellcats Costume Contest Fans Choose the Winner Blink vs. Brittany vs. LaTonya Jackson vs. Pet vs. Sunshine vs. The Tea Party vs. Terri Golde Writer: Lita I'm really happy I finally got to have something like this. As much as I love women's wrestling, I do love mixing it up with stuff like this (or even Bra & Panties matches). The Attitude Era was my favorite time of wrestling and I liked seeing that the women could do things like this and still have real matches. Jo gave a lot of ideas that I tried to work in. I didn't get a costume suggestion from the Tea Party but since Helena wasn't happy about the contest I figured coming in with no costume worked well for Helena and her gimmick. Kellyn's big interruption was to help continue introducing the character and make it so that there would be no winner. Depicting Sorrow Interview: Seph & Matt Happy to see Roy Harlowe back. He's one of my favorites and I love seeing Darian be an asshole, so that's fun. I'm excited to have Depicting Sorrow re-formed before their next title defense. I was afraid we'd have another forced title change. It was beginning to feel like we couldn't keep a tag team with the belts. With the champs back at full strength and the additions of 10/31 and Brick Sharks with 4R, I think we could have the start of an awesome tag division. Main Event Fighting Spirit Championship Champion's Choice Tͮ͐͘҉̧̮̙̪̝Ĩ̧̼̝̗̺ͫͣ̈́̔̕̕E̷̢͔͙̫̠̥̭̊ͣͮ̾ͧ͟R̠̫͚̪̙̖̉̔) © vs. Gus Richlen Writer: Sid So happy to see Gus Richlen with the title. Wight is awesome and he's doing fantastic with TIER (even though I did prefer H@VOK), but Gus really had it this week and I think TIER is going to do just fine despite this loss. The match type was freakin' awesome for the show's theme! |

Since you asked, I DID really like Poe and Jinx's matches. I was surprised you wrote them, actually, the tone was much different from what I remembered seeing in your matches before. I mean that in a good way; the old matches weren't bad and neither were these. They were just... different. It's amazing that you have such flexibility in your writing styles and I really dug the unique angles you went for in the matches. |
