Well! That could've gone a LOT worse! Thanks go to everyone who sent in their anonymous thoughts on RPs, as well as the two people I ended up with who sent in judging thoughts, especially on my matches. Keeping me honest is a very important part of my GM reign and I appreciate the help. Thanks also go to Lita and Seph who did some great segments for the show, as well as Lita writing the altercation between Harley and Cage! Things I Still Need: - Updated bios from former Rising wrestlers. - Handler Surveys from T, Marc, and Will. - "Danger" Mark Fisher's character rep. I don't know if it's always gonna be up this early, but I had the opportunity so I figured why not. Where I'm working, how often, how late, and so forth is always going to be a contributing factor to WHEN between 12 Friday and 6 AM Saturday EST the show gets posted, but I'll strive to do my best. Onto the anonymous feedback from the roster, the good the bad and the ugly. Take it for what it is; constructive criticism and praise where it's due. Most of all, THANK YOU to everyone who contributed their thoughts. This helps us become better RPers, and helps create a stronger community. Tommy Tyler - I see what Tommy's doing there, what he's drawing inspiration from and paying homage to, and I think he's doing a good job with it. I regularly read his RPs without prompt. - No coding errors or spelling errors. - Tommy was a little more harsh on poor Derek Levy than I usually appreciate, but given the lack of input from Derek Levy this week I'll give it a pass. - In this I felt like Tommy was just talking to talk most of it. The message didn't seem clear to me. Couple that with use of punctuation in the wrong spots just threw me off. - Reflecting on Rise of a Legend, that's good to follow up but leaves it at "it's been a stressful few weeks". Why was it stressful? Expanding on this could help 'explain' the recent disappointment. Why wasn't he surprised? As a new reader, I'm at a loss. He tears down Derek Levy but doesn't give him one redeeming quality, which is a negative. If Levy isn't worth beating, then it can only really go one of two ways - either Tyler wins as expected or he loses to the guy not worth anything. There's a couple of good chances there for something to be mentioned as positive. - There is some solid heel fare included about pushing himself to make a Derek Levy match exciting. There's some difference between what he's saying and what he's doing in his actions. He's smirking, talks cocky and condescending but is stopping for selfies with fans. I think there's more he can do here to put himself over, deny the fan their selfie and tell them they can only watch him by buying a ticket for the show. He's in danger of putting himself in the 'cool heel' bracket which doesn't stack up with the condescension displayed earlier and isn't brilliant for feuds. Gus Richlen - Can't argue with Sticky's output! - Lies Other People Tell was very intense, and it kept the intensity up through out. Enjoyed the variations he had of Xander's name too. Always can enjoy it when someone can creatively screw with someone's name and it not sound corny. - I don't get how "Gustav" connects with the working man, given that the stereotypical working man doesn't give a shit about pro-wrestling any more. - No mention of Cody at all in Lies Other People Tell, and he kind of glosses over him in the first RP. Vi/Sakura - This is mostly regarding their joint RP. The RP was light and fun. There was some silliness and there was references to the match, both opponents, and emphasis on Mercedes who is most likely Sakura's main challenger. All good things. - What could be done better? I don't know. Maybe make the RP a little less light? It felt fluffy more so than anything, but I mean that makes sense. Sakura/Mercedes isn't a blood feud or anything of the sort. It's two girls that probably could be friends but didn't get the chance. So they aren't enemies, but they aren't friends. Helena Handbasket - The RP was good. Adam really sells crazy well. Helena's in a great spot right now despite a loss at Rise of a Legend. She bounces back really well due to the gimmick Adam has for her and he nails it with her. - What could be done better? I don't know. Maybe put more emphasis on the upcoming match and opponents? But Helena is insane and I'm not sure if she even sees faces to the bodies that she unleashed her rage on. It makes sense, especially in this particular moment in time. Lots of good stuff to chew on. Hopefully some of it helps! Please remember to send in your thoughts every week, everyone; just read one RP not related to your match and send me your 'what was good' and 'what could've been better' and I'll post it here. The results are short, so the feedback should be stronger so we can all keep getting better as a community. Thots? |

Good show, easy to digest. I'll throw those thoughts out when I'm back on a comp. Try to get someone who got no feedback. |

1. I thought I had talked in one of my promos about Richlen's working class background. Must have missed something somewhere. 2. Didn't want to go to my "Cody is a fake" line again since it honestly sucks, plus I didn't want to hit him too hard where he was possibly not going to be able to promo. |

Really good show. I wish I had more specific comments to make, but I don't really. Everything was good with a steady flow to the show. I'm really thrilled to see Nathaniel Alexander pinning the Dual Crown Champion. It's awesome to see the Diamond Standard showing what he can do again. |

Okay, I'll own to this one: It's not so much the working class background as the fact that the ideal working man is not generally speaking a fan of pro-wrestling. All of the people that I know who are wrestling fans are dweebs like me. If someone wanted to connect with the British working man, it would be over beer and football (by which I mean soccer) or, in the north of England, you could get away with Rugby League, especially given its similarities to American Football, and the fact the Leeds Rhinos head coach is the head coach of the USA national team. |

I have to say there was that shimmer of hope when Xander had Riot in the finishing submission and then Gustav took the win and I was like, "OK...that makes more sense with the crap I put out this week." I'm honestly surprised that I even came as close as I did. I was not happy with my RP at all this week. I struggled for 3 days writing that RP and then rushed to finish before deadline because I knew my evening would be busy. I'll try to get back and read more of the show as time permits. I do have to say that the new GM character seems pretty interesting and I liked the Jack Manson shout out in that segment by the announce team.

I enjoyed the show as a fun short-results read. Not a lot of world-shaking events or anything, but a nice follow-up after Legend. I'd like to apologize for not sending in any feedback. I had every intention of doing so, but somewhere along the way that whole sleep thing caught up with me, then another fun round of needles in the eyelid happened, so...yeah. I appreciate that TNT got feedback, and quite a bit from the look of it. To address the concerns about just where he falls in the heel/face spectrum, I said in the bio that Tommy is fun-loving but obnoxious. Looking at Levy's bio, he came across as possessing a massive ego, so Tommy resorted to a lot of childish poking at him just to try to provoke. Could I have done something better? Absolutely. I suppose I was expecting Levy to come back with some over-the-top braggadocio, so I just left the groundwork for that out there. As for the vagueness regarding the last few weeks, I'll say this-Tommy is a bit of a self-insert for me anyway. The last few weeks, I have found myself in some pretty rough places personally, and projecting them onto Tommy has been a common theme for me. That has proven difficult in some instances though. For example, I went through a real-life breakup a month ago, which was coincidentally around the same time Tommy's budding relationship with Helena Handbasket first hit the skids. I've been hesitant to try to explore that aspect of the character lately, because I sort of dread just what that's going to do with my own mind if I do. For the record, I don't want it to come off like I'm trying to defend myself or argue feedback. I legit appreciate anything anyone wants to offer. I've just spent the last month in a major funk where a lot of what I've done has fallen more into "Well, shit, it's almost deadline...better try to write SOMETHING..." and I hope I can get past all that soon. |

Words to live by. I'm glad to hear it, because the point of the feedback isn't to prompt anyone to defend their position. It's going to take some adjusting, but I know we all appreciate feedback so we have to remember to rein it in when our desire to defend our work comes calling. Nobody's attacking anybody; just offering their opinions on a piece of work. Take it, decide if it's something you need to work on or if it's something you're comfortable being a part of your work, and move on. |

Great show, Wight and folks. Like sentiments uttered above, I'm going to try and provide feedback for role plays that haven't been spotlighted yet. I appreciate the feedback my Secret Santa gave me. I'm sure though, that I could have done many things better. It's always going to be a work in progress. I'm chasing writers that are ten ties better than I am, and they keep getting better themselves! Wight, I sent you a personal message regarding Black Tom. I know you're a busy guy, but do you think you could spare a moment to reply? Thanks, bro. |

That was awesome to see Alexander get the win that way. Here's hoping I've managed to get myself out of that rut to get Nathaniel back in the game. Overall, the show was awesome, definitely a lot of fun to read. I liked the Brittany/Cage segment. Cage got shut dooowwwn! Lol. The matches were a lot of fun to read too, even with short results the way they were. It made them much quicker and easier to read. Good stuff all around! |
